Obviously, a lot of the super powerful cards Sancre got in his post, but personally, I like any of the quick hand hate black has to offer: Duress, Cabal Therapy, Ostracize, etc. Especially on the first turn...
I don't care what the best cards in magic. I use what works wrath of god] has always been a great card. tortured existance works great in my black madness deck which in the right game becomes a madness/everything comes back deck
Jokes aside Door to Nothingness is the best card, because it makes a player lose and says so written on the card, so even FlamekinDemon or Mike Lopez couldn't play it wrong. Ok, I'm not sure on Lopez.
Now jokes really aside: Listen to the Dr. He's right.

We define the boundaries of reality; they don't define us.
what card do you thik is the best card ever guys and when i mean best i mean anything with high power/toughness low mana cost nice effects and to top it of aditions like lifelink flying trample, vigiance and persist i have always wondered which ones are the best so i am asking you to decide?????????????????????????????????????????:D
There is no card with lifelink, flying, trample, vigilance and persist, so clearly there is no best card ever.

Door to Nothingness for the win.
Though I'm sure I can still find a way to cheat to win.
Maybe something like... 10x R or just tapping it regardless of paying. Remember kids. Red mages are unrestricted and free.
Jokes aside: Yes, listen to Dr Blutsau. He went to school.
Edit: Trying to find the code for Tapping and Untapping.
Thatt is such a crazy card the target player loses the game omg that is just ownage too bad it cost so much mana it should probably cost just as much as black lotus or actually more cause its effect is way better.
But you know what sucks if your playing a 2 coulour deck then youll have to splash in 2 of every other mana just to play it and youd have to buy 4 doors:D.

I like 10/10 tramplers! Espesially when they are Doomgape and i have 4 of them and even more awsome when i combo them with Creakwood liegeGrave pact and Dark ritual and i have 4 of each............. I hope I did not scare you:tease:..................
its not ownage. it costs 5 to play, and 2 of each colour to activate it. by then, you would have probaly lost already, or it would have been removed with oring or sumthing

There is no straight-up best card. It really all depends on your deck.
If I had to pick, though, it would be the power 9, especially Black Lotus and Time Walk.
Cards with the post 8th Edition, color shifted and future shifted templates as well as the timeshifted and Coldsnap reprint ones tastes a little sweeter. Any gold cards with the old faces are a little saltier. European foreign (except Russian) cards with the mentioned templates above are not as sweet as their English counterparts and has a wierd after taste. All taste tests were done from fresh packs and all cards tasted are not foil cards. I have yet to taste Asian and Russian cards.
Yea but it cant be o ringed if i dont put into play so if i have 4 of them and save up the mana and play defensive then i just put them down on like turn 10 and gameover which is still pretty quick copared too how fast a average person can beat me lol

I run a door to nothingness in my 100 card dragon highlander, and it usually gets blown up before I can trigger it, but it is just in there for fun. It is a rainbow deck though, and it uses a bunch of mana ramp green spells to get all the lands I need. There is no way I would put this in a two color deck, then it would be much harder to cast your on color spells.

Door to Nothingness is one of my favorite ways to win because it's such a dumb card. I love that people get worried when I drop it on the board when they are playing decks that win with dragons or akroma or other big impressive things.
I have it in a casual 5 color Sunburst deck with each of the Bringers (Bringer of the Black Dawn, Bringer of the Blue Dawn, etc.,) that I created out of a box of Fifth Dawn (and then hunted down extras for). With the various mana producing sunburst artifacts, core tapper, gemstone array, wayfarer's bauble and other similar cards, you can easily get it to go off before turn 10 if you can survive long enough. I usually only play this deck in multiplayer.
I also enjoy that it says "target player" not "target opponent"
your signiture says exatly the opposite yea we should disregard your signiture

Does nothing? It helps lock down the opponent for 3 mana, and if you can find a way to bounce it back to your hand on a regular basis, you can untap your permanents while keeping it at 4 fade counters. It's a decent card in the right deck. Scathe Zombies does nothing for three mana.
Your turn: You cast Tangle Wire and it has 4 counters. You don't have to tap anything.
Opponents turn: They tap 4 permanents.
Your turn: You remove a counter, then tap 3 permanents, one of which will be tangle wire.
Opponents turn: They tap 3 permanents.
Since there are two abilities (fading and the "tap permanents" effect), you choose the order they resolve. You choose to have the "remove a counter" ability happen first, and then the "tap permanents for each counter" happen second. This means the opponent is always tapping one more permanent than you are. If you play this on the 3rd turn and the opponent has to tap 4 permanents on their 3rd/4th turn, it can lock them down.
I agree, I've gotten entirely locked down by Tangle Wire + Smokestack decks in vintage. Hard to beat, especially because your opponent is running artifacts like Trinisphere and Chalice of the Void, which he can tap to the Tangle Wire at no cost. Add in a Goblin Welder and you have a repeatable lockdown engine.
I think you guys are forgetting IProUno is half-troll, or all-troll. Not sure which, honestly. Ditto for iTopher, I think.
Wouldn't take it too seriously.
(With apologies both if I'm just completely wrong here and you're legitimately just misinformed. Seriously.. Tangle Wire can be flat-out amazing. You either need to play more or learn more cards. Looong history of evil, that card.)
You're probably right. It'll take a bit of restraint to avoid stating why I think he's a troll, but, as if the point needed any further proving, I just slapped together an MWS deck with 4x Tangle Wire, some artifact recursion, and a few fatties, and locked my opponent down until playing Bogardan Hellkite and kicking his face in. And that was just a casual game. Vintage pros can abuse Tangle Wire in terrifying ways.
EDIT: Also, I just hands down love Strip Mine.
...you just made me win.
