Outside of Damnation, Wrath, or another mass removal, I can't figure out how to get rid of this guy.
My buddy has been running a mean casual build that revolves around Dramatic Entrance/Progenitus/mana accelerators. He usually can drop Prog around turn 3 or 4, which is pretty devastating. For a Bant guy like myself, the only way I've taken out the monster is attacking with a pumped Baneslayer (2-of main decked) and hope he blocks with Prog.
How do I get rid of that ****er, especially when Dramatic Entrance resolves on a turn 3 drop?
Edit: I know I can counter Dramatic Entrance itself with a Negate or Bant Charm, but I'm asking advice on what to do if it gets through. I'm usually tapped out on turn 3 playing Bant, trying to aggro him as fast as possible.

learn to leave mana open on turn 3? you're not going to aggro him down fast if he get's out progenitus anyways. if you know he's going to be dropping it it wouldn't make much sense to let it resolve
Cruel Edict and its ilk if it's the only creature he has out. Wing Shards is the only such spell in white and I think you play T2... leaves you with countering his DE.

Each reality is but the dream of another, and each sleeper a god unknowing.
We define the boundaries of reality; they don't define us.

If you're attacking with a flying creature, how does Progenitus block?
If Progenitus can block somehow, how should the angel kill him? Protection from eeeeeverything prevents all damage that the angel could do.
As said, Mass-removal, edicts or counters.
Edit: Of course if you have an Angel who could take out Progenitus you could race him with the lifelink...
WELL, since your playing bant, how about worship? Laugh while he trys to kill you and keep negate mana open while hitting him with flyers. Cruel edict seems the cheapest way to kill him, but wing shards is on color. If you want to get rid of him for good, Final Judgment comes to mind.
Sacrifice effects as many people have pointed out.
I know this doesn't answer your question, but if you keep some prot (from any color) in your deck, then progenitus can't hurt you outside of a fling or something.
If it were me, I'd grab your favorite outlander. Valeron Outlander if he plays black, or Vedalken Outlander if he's into red. Or any knight with prot, anyone, I guess. Then you can just deflect his progenitus. And it's not like he can spot remove your white prot creature easily, because hey... prot red, prot black.

The problem is, Progenitus cannot be blocked. Protection from everything means protection from every color, a creature with protection from a certain color cannot be blocked by a creature with that color. Your example wouldnt work unless the blocker in question was colorless and not an artifact(Progenitus also has protection from artifacts). Progenitus will almost never be blocked barring that instant that says "All attacking creatures are blocked, " sorry having a DUH moment and cant remember the name. That said, I just love Final Judgment

It also can't be a token because Progenitus has protection from tokens. It also can't be a card because Progenitus has protection from cards... It also can't be a permanent because he has protection from them to. Oh and he also has protection from creatures...
Anyway, clone is a cute way of dealing with him, since it doesn't target anything. And if your opponent likes to play big creatures, you can copy one of those too.

Well played, like I said, if he is being blocked theres a big chance your not following the rules. Nuff said

Runed Halo naming Progenitus won't get rid of the big guy, but it does, effectively, make him into a giant wall. If he attacks with Prog, don't block and prevent all damage. Easy as can be. He'll still have a giant, powerful wall but your flyers will swing over him.

Progenitus is freaking scary at first, but when you really sit down and think about it, there's a lot of ways to take care of him. Plus, decks like that REALLY rely on finding him and cheating him into play. If you can deal with Progenitus, the deck doesn't have much of a win condition.
Counter it or the spells that bring it into play.
Make him sacrifice it.
Circle of protection against it.
Bounce it.
Destroy his lands.
Mass removal.

I've raced progenitus with an exalted angel equipped with sword of fire and ice, as well as a couple of tarmogoyfs, as well as goblin piledrivers.

He plays Evolution Charms and Makeshift Mannequin in the deck, too. He has used the Evo charms to give Progenitus flying in the past.
But other than that, you're right. Brain fart on my part.

Runed Halo prevents it from hurting you. Barter in Blood is also probably easier to acquire than Damnation.
There's also Retaliate and the Story Circle club.
I feel like there's a counter-esque spell that gives you control of a creature spell similar to Commandeer.

Hah! Yes! That's always a good answer to it.
I didn't think Gather Specimens was that recent.
