I will strongly advice against reducing the mantle to 1 copy, that is just ridiculous and don't see how its going to benefit the deck by reducing an essential combo piece to 1??? yes it can be tutored with tezz, but even if we were running 4 tezz it still wouldn't be viable to have only one copy. so basically were only have 4(6 if u wanna count the 2 tezz) cards in the whole deck that tap the bairn for us with out attacking?????? dose not seem like a good thing to me

Updating decklist because ChefStiX missed quite a few things in his/her post. I am making no changes of my own (besides shifting my vote back from adding Fact or Fiction to keeping Fact or Fiction since it's limited to 1) because I already participated today.

Ok, then I've got a suggestion for your casual deck construction rules:2. No one's deck runs any answers to anything. Killing creatures, countering spells, destroying lands, redirecting abilities, forcing discards: all that stuff is totally not fun.
5. No one actually loses. Winning is fun, and we want everyone to have fun, so the first one to zero life points just wins, and so does everyone else. Then we can shuffle up and have more fun!

Think of tez as a reusable tutor. It's not based off him, and the cards themselves work with the bairn, not tez.

I'll add a vote to reduce Darksteel Reactor to 1 copy that is three votes and it is down to one copy.
I am going to vote to remove Parallax Tide although I like it we desperately need to get to 60 cards and it seems to be one of the only cards to be non essential.
I am going to vote to move Scute Mob down to two copies. Also I am going to remove the -2,+2 votes to remove it completely as they cancel each other out anyway.
I am also going to remove the votes to remove Forest and Island as it is just dumb to take them out as that would put our land count back down to 18 and our mana base looks good now as is.
Also we have already gone over the 75 card limit once so there should be no more additions to the deck and we should just focus on trimming it to 60 cards.
Elvoz: You forgot to add your vote to move Scute Mob down to 2 copies so I am adding it.
Also GMaD has always gone by the Vintage Banned / Restricted list so we cannot up Fact or Fiction to four copies it has to stay at one copy as it is restricted in Vintage.
If we really need to we can dig up the rest of the gmad rules. As I understad it what we use is just a simplified version that was written when we brought gmad back. If there is such an issue with the fact that the rules as they are written on this post we can change that. We need to keep some kind of restricted list out there. Without if we are just going to end up with quad time walks in every blue deck for example.
I completely agree with ChefStiX, and as long as I have known GMaD it has always been the Vintage B/R list and have seen people cite the rules before, I also think that there is a longer set of rules than on this one after looking at the ones listed here as I remember them being longer before.

ok guys i think were getting deluded by semantics here, so lets get focused and finish this deck up so we can move on to the next
we down to 66, cards, and the only thing i really see as a big problem is, once again the Mantle count, 1 is not going to cut it, but we all seem to be split on if we should keep it at one or go back to 4 copies, so i suggest we meet in the middle and put it a 2, its better then just having one with out adding to many more cards back in, so that would put us at 67 cards. what dose every one think about that??
also to help the cuts id say axe 2 commands, 2 scute mobs the parallax waves(even though i really love that card, especially in this deck) and one land. counting the mantle at two that'd put us at 60 cards

1 vote to keep Scute Mob at 4. Dropping Scute Mobs ruins the point of the deck. Scute Mob gets huge fast and this deck needs that.
1 vote to keep Paradise Mantle at 1. Not enough space to run 4 of a card that isn't terribly important. There are other methods of keeping Gilder tapped.
1 vote to get rid of Darksteel Reactor. As much as I'd like to have it as a alternate win condition, the deck needs room and it's not terribly important. Darksteel Reactor is out.
1 vote to leave Epochrasite at 2 copies. It recurs and can be tutored with Tezzeret. No need to clutter the deck with more of them, even though they are good.
1 vote to get rid of Saproling Burst. It's a good card but at this point it's clutter.
1 vote to up Opposition to 4. As I've said before, the ability to tap Bairn to control the field is a terrifying prospect and it needs to happen as often as possible. As usual, I might be wrong, but I believe this gives Opposition 3 votes to up to 4 so I think it goes up.
1 vote to get rid of Parallax Wave. Like so many other cards in this deck, it's an amazing card, but it's clutter at this point.
1 vote to remove Cryptic Command entirely. It's a great card, but it's too expensive for a counter (for my tastes, anyways) and for a 2 color deck, 1UUU is going to be hard to come by early game.

I love my Gilder Bairn Deck. I haven't read the whole thread, but I like Hankyu on my Bairn, Training Grounds on the field and a Saltcrusted Steppe down there too. Makes for infinite mana or removal. Fun? Yes.
