This GMAD will be built around the card Pyromancy. This a card that I have tried to add to a few GMAD's and it always gets voted off. Well now you can't vote it off!
We are going to follow the Vintage restricted list. Cards cannot have a value over $20. Use the Magiccards.info middle price to determine this.
Primary and only casual rule: "any rule that is fine for the most part of the playgroup, is a fine rule". So any further thread with: "if somebody uses/does .... in a casual game, is it ethical/ok?", read the answer above.
- Being a "Johnny/Spike" means you like self-torture. You win often in casual, so everybody hates you; you loose often in competitive, so you hate yourself.
Looks like we're in R/B at least, and I see some potential for Hellbent and Madness. This means we can use extra discard outlets for ourselves, and I think wiping out an opponents hand will help limit their answers.
I suggest Rix Maadi, Dungeon Palace. I don't think we want 4 copies, as they eat up a fair amount of mana to use, so I'll add 3.
Edit: Other than the theme of mass discard, the reason I forsee hellbent potentially playing a role is that being able to drop to a 1 card hand makes the pyromancy a bit easier to focus. Rix can help by tossing a cheap madness card out, then pyromancy for the pain.
Are we wanting to go creatureless, if so we should probably need some Damnation or do you all think that we should go with walls like AEther Membrane for defense?

"STAY CLEAR OF WHITE POWDER"
311 "Who's Got the Herb"
--------------------------------------
I like the membrane, since we can then make them discard (maybe? not much else going that route yet). As a permanent solution.
I'd hold off on the damnation, since we're already looking at a heavy investment in red (Volley). Double black isn't a hard investment to make, but it may slow down a little bit. Although, we can toss in cheap duals like the tainteds to help remedy this.
I think eventually we may need to make a choice between lightning surge(thresh hold mechanics) and Emrakul.
We may also want to look at some card advantage of some sort?
Also noodle's addition of Fiery Temper got dropped somehow so putting it back into the deck.
We're gonna need an early game for before we can get Pyromancy on line and I think that should probably be walls and my personal favorite red or black wall is AEther Membrane so adding four of them.
i'm voting to remove 2 Jaya. do we need four? no, since if we can only discard to her or Pyromancy if we already have her on the field.
Voting completely against Emarakul. sure, he's just there for discard fodder, but that's just too much. what's stopping people from suggesting Darksteel Collossus and Blightsteel Collossus for a likewise overkill?
for an oddball suggestion, once we burn through our hand hand nothing left to discard we still need a reliable source of damage- thus 2 Planeswalker's Fury. we can burn an opponent with their own hand. how fun is that?
SELVAXRI! King of Misfortune & Master of Rocket Launchers "Do ya feel lucky? Because you'd better start runnin' while you still can." 375 Misfortune {+3 signed AP's} & 104 Rocket Launcher (41 AQ/ 63 Rev) Edgar Rice Burroughs, forgotten legend of the word.
Gonna throw in some Greater Gargadon. Doubles a finisher and is insane if you happen to discard it off Pyromancy.
Voting off:
-4 Emakrul: Pretty much only serves as discard fodder here. It'd be great if we could get more utility (Madness, Flashback, Evoke, etc.) out of the spells we discard.
explanation: I like that cycle of cards, but it is very mana intensive. We already are paying 3 to pitch whatever we draw, then we have to madness it, then we have stuff to flashback from earlier discards. I think it will be unrealistic to think we'll have 4 left over after all that.
---
also one of the votes vs emrakul was dropped. (selvaxri, magnetman) I mentioned earlier that either emrakul or the threshhold had to go. I like the idea of 3: 15 damage, but emrakul makes the deck less fun, and eliminates the flashback aspect too. I'll finish him off with a final vote.
0x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn (-3)
---
Don't know how I feel about the Gargadon's. I feel our games won't last 10 turns, and we don't really have much to sacrifice. I guess we can burn out their creatures with pyromancy and sac for the haste for an alpha strike with him, but that may be a bit all-in-ish. I won't vote against yet, rather see how other people feel about him. The 10 on the discard though does seem kinda nice.
We can't seriously think we are gonna take on aggressive decks like elves, goblins, or zoo, and these GMaD's usually end up being anti-aggro decks so I think the majority of us are playing against aggro decks.
My point is we need more than just three walls, so we need to keep AEther Membrane, voting to keep it, I am also gonna vote to add a fourth copy of Pitchstone Wall. With eight walls we will be ready to take on aggro decks, so I think we should stick with these.
Vote against Planeswalker's Fury it is too mana intensive and it's horrible against aggressive decks with low CMC's.
I'm also gonna vote against Greater Gargadon as someone else suggested we are never gonna have enough permanents to sacrifice to get it out, so all it is is a 10 CMC and if all we want is a huge CMC we should have kept Emrakul.
i vote to reduce dungeon palace, that deck isnt full of madness, i really prefer to remove, but i think two will be cool and flavour.
vote to remove planeswalker fury, i like that card, but not here
vote to reduce jaya, its legendary and not the main focus
vote to remove gargadon, we cant make him fast into game
vote to add the wall, its cool and nice
add 4 demigod of revenge, its a powerful beater, good to discard with pyromancy
dunno if we need draw or ramp here... maybe tutor for pyromancy
Well, I was holding back on votes on cuts because I'm new here and didn't want to be too aggressive, but I guess other people agree on the gargardon, so I'll officially vote on that and kill it. The point about emrakul is solid.
Per rules, the votes on Jaya combine, and 2 are cut.
Also, Rix Maadi isn't just for us to have a madness outlet, its also there to rip up the opponents hand. Whether we need 3 for that, or 2 will do, I'm not sure. Just that I'd defend my choice there.
Adding 4 Bottomless Pit. I was torn between it and Squee, Goblin Nabob, depending on whether we wanted more sculpting of the opponents hand, or more card advantage. Unfortunately I don't think Squee will do much more us, he's good fodder for Jaya, but he'll only dilute our discard for pyromancy.
The pit gives us an easier time with the opponent, as well as a free discard outlet early for our wurms, so we can actually play them for 3. Right now we need to pitch them to either Jaya for 5 (4 if theirs a blue player), pyromany for 6, or rix maadi for 7, none of which are terribly great for early game defense. Ripping an opponents hand, and dropping some early fatties or flashback seems like a baller.
---
I think this will give us plenty of discard, and with all of the flashback we have, we'll have some stuff to do for a while even without a hand, that I think we can cut a Rix Maadi; By the rime we get around to using it most people will be on top deck mode anyways. I'll vote to remove 1.
I like browbeat in general as a card, but as with any of the 'choice' cards, I find it always ends up being the choice you don't want, more so with more players. I agree we need card advantage, but I don't think this is the one we want. One vote to remove.
I like the pitchstone wall. The ability to play some combat tricks, a sizable blocker, and late game card filtering... I'll round out the +1 vote.
When I initially chose Emrakul, I was also considering Draco. I think Emrakul is good if we want the reshuffle effects, but something like Draco would be good if we want to keep the graveyard for flashback or for Demigods or something.
We should make a decision which way we are going with this. Some of these cards are conflicting with one another IMO.

Rules:
The full rules can be found here: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=302407
In Summary they are:
- The decklist is in the first post and gets updated by me.
- Anyone can add one card per day (You may suggest up to four copies.).
- Remember to always explain your suggestions, even when they are obvious.
- This GMAD follows the announced banned/restricted list.
- Once the deck has clearly defined colors, avoid suggesting off-color cards unless there's really a good reason to splash for them.
- Decks will end up with 60 cards, unless there's a particular reason not to (f.e. building around Battle of Wits or format restrictions).
- The deck contains 40% basic lands from the beginning to ensure a playable deck. If you suggest a land, an according number of basics will be cut.
- Cards can be added until the list is 15 cards over the target size. From then on, cards can only be removed.
- You can vote to remove cards currently in the deck at any time. You have to explain all suggested cuts. A card with three negative votes is cut.
- A vote to keep a card cancels a vote to cut a card.[/
Adding 4 Dark Withering: pay 3B destroy a creature deal 6 damage elsewhere... I know the discard is random but this is still awesome.
