Bottomless Pit is a very strong addition. Plays well with Ensnaring Bridge to turn off aggro, and wrecks control by itself. Can't ask for any more than that from a supporting card. Once we have the game in a soft-lock, Pyromancy can easily win so I support cards which get us set up to that point, moreso than cards which equate to "hey this looks cool to pitch".
Thanks for the support. These were the two cards I thought of after I had already added Rix Maadi yesterday; I think if I had suggested Squee then, more could have come from it and he'd have been a strong addition as people could incorporate him more solidly in, but with the current build, Pit is by far the better choice. Also, its just awesome in general.
Another card that fits for that flavor would be pain magnification which would be great, as you can hit them with the pyromancy on their draw step.
As Notstiffler says, there are too many cards conflicting with one another in here. Ensnaring Bridge looks to be a decent card, but in reality, we have no good ways of reducing our hand count before Turn 4, by then which we will already be at the mercy of aggro. After Turn 4 when Pyromancy hits, we shouldn't need to worry about powerful attacking creatures because we have consistent removal. If we're going to keep this card, then we really need cards like Pyrokinesis or Cave-In to start reducing our hand size.
Additionally, we don't need Dark Withering at 4 copies here. This is a dead card until Turn 4/5, and yes, it's great value. What this deck needs at this point is Tutors to set up Pyromancy, and if we have Pyromancy already, fetch the high CMC cards to discard via Pyromancy. Vote to reduce to 2 copies.
I'll say the same argument for Lightning Surge. Reduce to 2 copies.
This deck is a good example of where Browbeat actually does what it is supposed to do. Vote to keep.
I really do not like Reckless Wurm in here as we're relying on too much random discard. The only reliable way of discarding this is via Jaya or Rix-Maadi, both of which have high discard costs. It is a good play to discard via Pyromancy, but it's not reliable to do so. And doing this on 6-mana is not as good as it sounds. 5-damage + 4/4 Trampler is decent, but we can do better. Vote to remove.
Also vote to remove Demigod of Revenge. There's no denying this is a good card, but since we're leaning in the form of Control, I'd like to take this out. We don't have reliable discard for this card, and the Win-Condition should be Pyromancy.
I really, really want to add Pyrokinesis now, but we're already at 74 cards. So please start removing before adding something else. We really need Tutors in here, and 2-CMC mana accel is a good choice as well.
Arrrrrrr....got narfed by DLink123 so editing my post
NotStiffler is right Bottomless Pit can help us two different ways that are in conflict with each other. Either we can use it too 1) Help us dump Demigod of Revenge so that when we do play a Demigod of Revenge we will get extra's back, which would be making the deck more offensive or we can 2)Use it too help dump our hand and thus make Ensnaring Bridge stronger.
I also think we need card advantage but I think Browbeat is undoubtedly the wrong way to go as too often with choice cards as said before they choose the choice you don't want. I think as far as card advantage goes we should go with Phyrexian Arena or Ambition's Cost
I'm going to vote to remove Lightning Surge for trimming as we are so close to 74 and we still need card advantage and that it just overall isn't that good of a card.
I'm going to vote against Reckless Wurm for trimming and because its gonna be hard to cast, I mean off of a Pyromancy we will need six mana total to cast it, moreover, we really don't need the aggression as we have Pyromancy to deal damage and also now have Demigod of Revenge (which was an amazing add) for aggression.
Also, I really like Bottomless Pit but not as a four of, I'm gonna vote to remove two of them, as we will only really need one out at a time and this will free up spots for tutors that we can get it with.
I'm not really a fan of Rix at all so I'll vote to remove one of them because it is rather mana intensive also.
We aren't gonna want to be discarding lands to Pyromancy, as that will be a waste, so maybe we need to cut down on our land count just a little bit, so I'm gonna vote to reduce our land count to 23.
I don't think we need four copies of Slice and Dice so am gonna vote to remove two of them.
Dark Withering isn't really good until turn 5 plus so we don't need four of them voting to remove two of them.
We are dangerously close to the 75 card mark so please don't add anything people until we can get some of these unnecessary cards out of the deck. As we still desperately need both tutors and card advantage so we need to get some of this stuff out of the deck.
I really think we need to get rid of Jaya, I don't understand why people only voted to remove two copies as it is in direct competition, i.e. overshadows, Pyromancy and now with Bottomless Pit we just won't have the cards to discard to it and to discard to Pyromancy, I really think it needs to go.
Edit: DLink123 voted to remove Demigod of Revenge, as I said above I think he is tech and am in favor of him over Ensnaring Bridge so I'll cancel out his vote to remove it with a vote to keep it.
Whoa, got a lot of replies while writing this, rchrhds is fixing all of this confusion.
Since we have black, and the limit is $20, Demonic Tutors make it in at $17.
For mana accel, signets tend to be a solid choice, in any situation, though since we have few things to do early game, wayfarer's baubles might be good. Another idea would be pentad prism: its a one shot accel by two mana the following turn, though we have no use for it after.
I like pyrokinesis and cave-in.
Reckless Wurm - I like the direction of the ensnaring bridge control. While dropping a 3 mana wurm with the pit is sexy, it doesn't do any good if we can't attack. Nath'ing my vote here, due to conflict of interest, rather see how this plays out for a sec and reevaluate. The Demigod is better aggro tech? vote to remove: Demigod - Same reason. We're running into a conflict of interests here. vote to remove: Lightning surge. The average damage from playing this is the same as pyromancy discarding it, at lower cost. The flashback cost is rather prohibitve, and I'd rather flashback the volley of boulders. Overall, it doesn't really impress me in any way. gone vote to add: 1 ensnaring bridge. I like the direction of the ensnaring bridge control, with the high cost spells, I can see just using the pyromancy as a kill outlet. Doesn't take may hits at 7 damage a pop to kill someone.
I would rather lose the fiery tempers than the witherings and a 1 madness. 6 damage and a kill for 4 seems better than 3 and 3 for the same cost. Vote to keep the witherings, vote to remove the tempers.
Wow got totally nerfed and my addition by bobthefunny - I'll fix this in a couple minutes.
First: Bobthefunny, your 1 vote does not negate both votes to reduce the Bottomless Pit count by 2. It would leave 1 vote to remove 2. fixed. Reckless Wurm is out. Lightning Surge is out - unless you're reducing it by 1? This list has changed significantly since rchrhds posted the updated one.
You only voted once on Demigod, and it never had any votes against it, so it's only at (-1). I vote to keep all four, so I negate your vote.
Again with Dark Withering, you can't negate two votes. It's back to 1 vote to remove 2.
I think that's all the changes, rchrhds could you double check? You seem to be on top of things.
For my addition today, I'll add 3 Burning Inquiry for card draw/madness/decimation of opponent's hand.
please update the list, correct the votes, some votes are uncounted in the last list, also the control route dont make the main card bright, i really prefer phyrexian arena over bottomless pit
First: Bobthefunny, your 1 vote does not negate both votes to reduce the[...]
Whoa dude, relax. There was clearly a lot of nathing going on, and I was clearly on a quote to an earlier post. Hence my immediate edit to the top saying "chill out, I'm fixing my post, don't use my decklist for a few min". Which I later changed to point out that rchrchs was taking control.
I think mine is now correct to his post preceeding mine.
Fiery Temper had a vote against it that Peter missed but I'm going to vote to keep it so now it has no votes against it again. Okay now list is updated. Also Jaya Ballard, Task Mage isn't out yet it has two votes against it (I think we need to get it out though).
I don't see the point of Burning Inquiry at all voting against it.

I'd like to hear your reasoning on keeping the tempers over the witherings, if you please, I really think the witherings are a stronger card in this deck.
I also like Jaya, she's the only way we have right now of pitching extra land so the pyromancy doesn't hit it by accident. I'll vote to keep her.
EDIT:
Ryzorz, I dont see jaya on your list, did you vote her out? Because I don't see it.
Looks like we are seriously divided on which way to go with this. Hopefully some smart deletions take place before we get stuck with a deck that cannot be used.
i really like the first body of the deck, i really dont wanna to see another pit + bridge.dec again, because of that, i vote to:
keep: demigod, withering, slice and dice and temper
vote to remove 2 pit and bridge, not full of madness the deck, pit like i said above will be the center of the deck, not pyromancy, vote to remove inquiry, we arent making a threshold deck, even gamble is more fun...
Rchrchs, there are still mistakes on the list. Jaya should not have been removed, she was at -2 by your post, ryzorz did not vote to remove, I voted to keep. That puts her at -1, depending now on zeromd. Demonic Tutor arrived from nowhere, no one added it to the list. It should be, but no one did. I mentioned it, but I had already added cards today, I was suggesting that it fit in the range of the rules.
@zeromd I'm not sure if your edit is voting to remove Jaya, but I voted to keep her first. If you did vote to remove her in your edit, I did not count it here, since I wasn't sure what you were actually implying there. Please vote to remove again if that was your intention.
Demigod vs. Bridge.
The way I see it, is that this deck is meant to be around the pyromancy. Demigod steals a deck by himself, as he is a 5 dmg swing alone, but he is never alone. If we wanted to swing with Demigod, there are much better discard outlets than pyromancy. I feel that with the high costs in the deck, a lock down favors pyromancy more. It only takes 3 hits of 7 to kill with it. From what I gather from the sentiments of the thread, Pit+Bridge has been done before, and there is some resentment to it. So my question is, is this a Pyromancy deck, or Demigod using pyromancy to dump in gy?
Could have sworn there were 2 votes at the time against Browbeat when I made my votes. Consider my post the second removal vote if another cannot be found.
I'm still curious about the fiery tempers though. There were 2 votes to cut, and 2 saves, but never any reason for the saves. How is temper better in this deck than withering?
Evil Spork is actually right we all missed DLink123's vote to keep Browbeat that's what happened, so Browbeat is back in the deck with 2 votes against it
I believe zeromd's comment was a vote against Jaya but it was rather ambiguous so yeah zeromd you need to clarify that so we know if it has another vote against it or not.
Thanks for the support. Slice and Dice is a good card, but I feel that Pyrokinesis and Cave-In are better options here as well. To be honest, I like the Ensnaring Bridge plan better with Pyrokinesis/Cave-In so I'll vote to remove Slice and Dice.

Rix-Maadi, Dungeon Palace does not need to be at 3 copies. Vote to reduce by 1 copy and it is done.

We already have eight strong walls, 4x AEther Membrane and 4x Pitchstone Wall, so I think our defense is pretty good. Therefore, I am going to vote against Ensnaring Bridge and show my favor for the Demigod of Revenge route as I think Demigod of Revenge is pretty tech in this deck.

I think this is fixed now.
I'm still curious about the fiery tempers though. There were 2 votes to cut, and 2 saves, but never any reason for the saves. How is temper better in this deck than withering?

I believe zeromd's comment was a vote against Jaya but it was rather ambiguous so yeah zeromd you need to clarify that so we know if it has another vote against it or not.
