I also vote to remove the Spire Golems. I'd hate to topdeck it late game when I could be getting mammoths. Besides, affinity for islands doesn't seem as attractive if we're going for UW. Gone.
Gideon Jura is a nice addition, as per GLJ's earlier comments. I'm voting to add one more.
I'd appreciate if someone would explain the usefulness of the two Duplicants. They are very high-costed. They depend on Aetherplasm to see play, right? If so, what gets exiled?
IMO, the Grozoth combo is unnecessary. If Grozoth and his dependent buddies got removed, we'd have more room for, say, more early game creatures or things to prevent the deck getting zerged to death before the 'plasm sees play. By all means, convince me otherwise, though.
I do, however, feel that mana is a problem. We don't have a single 1-mana creature. Even though we will undoubtedly have a few Plains and dual lands, I add 2 High Tide. A turn two Aetherplasm would be great.
I'd appreciate if someone would explain the usefulness of the two Duplicants. They are very high-costed. They depend on Aetherplasm to see play, right? If so, what gets exiled?
Duplicant isn't prohibitively expensive. It also takes care of the situation where you are being attacked by more than one creature since there is no Silent Arbiter to protect you.
Duplicant doesn't have to exile anything. But I would imagine by the time it comes into play that there will be a target...maybe even the creature silly enough to walk into the Aetherplasm.
It basically gives you some free removal which is always nice.
Those seem like some really powerful cards to get into play. Chances are you'll never use the transmute ability, but it's nice to have if you absolutely need to get a toolbox fatty into play first. There are a few other considerable 9 drops (like the other bringers) but these seemed to be the most efficient. There's also the fact that he replenishes your hand with other 9 drops to plop down, and since we're going to be forcing our opponent more or less to attack us we should be able to easily get these out as well.
I also like the idea of Plumveil and think we should try and run a playset if possible. It fits right into the theme of creatures attacking us and acts as a great flash blocker. But I do think we should remove some cards first so I'd like to vote against 2x HighTide. Since we've shifted into two colors now I don't really see any point in playing this card. There are better, much more reliable ways to get aetherplasm out earlier than through HighTide, and in the late game it's a completely dead draw.
I'd also like to vote to adding an extra Gideon, for the reasons mentioned in previous posts:
Since Sol Ring is legal and under $10 we should probably have four to play anything in our really expensive deck. Plus our opps. will probably be pressing them out as well.
Also, is it possible to vote to decrease the amount of lands in the deck beings we're running 4 Sol Rings? 28 mana sources seems a bit high, but I'm unsure of the rules with regards to this.
voting to add a singleton Woolly Razorback. we want people to swing into it and then it gets mean. fun card, not necessarily stupendous. but fun and cheaper then most of the stuff we have. plus. if it comes into play through the 'plasm, it can take the hit, and auto remove a counter which means, it blocks again, removes a counter. and blocks again, remove a counter, AND deals damage on third block.
also, is soul foundry really we want? why not mimic vat? our turn 3 drop. before the plasm. then they'll think twice about killing it. cuz we'll just put it on the vat for reuse whenever they attack. surprise blocker for 3, instead of surprise blocker for 4. makes it all cheaper. plus we could steal their creatures that die to our stuff if we want to. sure it goes away at end of turn, but doesn't seem like that much of a disadvantage for faster play in a slow deck.
Also, is soul foundry really we want? why not mimic vat?
Not a bad idea. You can initiate a vote to change it.
I'm also thinking that Quicksilver Amulet might be a backup to the Aetherplasm. However, as we're at 74 cards, I am reluctant to add it and ruin everything for everyone. Feedback?
I've actually been thinking that we don't necessarily have to go with the "plopping fatties into play" route, because admittedly, it clogs our hand, and getting them into play is dependant on aetherplasm, which will most likely be exiled/destroyed once our opponent knows what's up, leaving us with a hand that we can't do anything with for 4-5 turns. I'm starting to think the deck could function a lot better if we got rid of most of the fatties (and perhaps kept 1 or 2 in there just incase we are able to get it out with aetherplasm, or for the late game when we have the board under control). The deck shouldnt be solely dependent on aetherplasm to function, so I think it's better off in a support role, where the deck can still function without it. We could play with cards that care about blocking a creature such as the Woolly Razorback mentioned above, or Wall of . This way there is more synergy spread throughout the deck, instead of our entire game plan being funneled into a single 4 drop 1/1 (which seems pretty risky the more I think about it).
However, we could go with the fatties route if we gave the deck more support. As Etched Chester suggested, Amulet is a nice alternative to the aetherplasm. If we do decide to stick with the "getting big creatures into play" theme, then I think we should build around Grozoth and friends since they allow us to draw more fatties to play.
Sorry if my text came out like rambling. I'm in a rush but will try and cast a vote to remove a card and start pushing the deck in a certain direction later tonight

My only concern with Mimic Vat vs Soul Foundry- if something else dies, that we're tempted to imprint, we'll loose the imprinted 'plasm. also, Haste on a blocker is redundant.
soul foundry, yes- we'll lose a 'plasm, but we won't be tempted imprint over it.
I could add a couple of cards, either Elder Land Wurm as a nice Whooly Razorback cousin, or Wall of Nets for a surprise "attacker goes poof" early defense or drop.
for now, 1 Wall of Nets until people think it's more worthwhile having more.
Voting against Grozoroth- we currently don't have many 9cc critters, so all he'd be is a fetch for those critters- and we'll be showing our hands. we can do better.

i agree with you for the most part selvaxri, however soul foundry only has a single imprint and that is when it comes into play. so.... in order for soul foundry to work, you'd need to drop it, AND have a creature you want to imprint on it, in your hand. AND you'd have to have the mana to put another one of those in play. sure we could focus on only using it for the plasm, but let's be real, the mimic vat is superior in that we could imprint at every creature death. haste on a blocker doesn't matter, but were not really paying for the haste itself. so i find that a moot point. we're paying for the reuse of a creature with an ability. or a fatty on the attack side.
every creature has the ability to be "dealt with" (rfg, destroy, sac, stolen, etc, barring shroud/hexproof) but any creature we throw on the vat is going to be a constant assault/block that needs to be dealt with. and for the low cost of 3...
i'd like to vote to remove the soul foundries and once they are gone, i'll vote in the mimic vat.
and i realllly like the idea of quicksilver amulet as a backup to the plasm. just gotta make room for it in the mana curve up to 4.
and if we get the land count down some more we could rely on castable creatures. also we could be looking at more CiP creatures, but that would require more votes for the grozoth path to leave (even if i do like it a lot)
why sunpetal grove? i don't see green. voting against them
also, voting out capsize. we need our mana up to turn 3/4. so we won't be using it until turn 5 or more, and won't get thy buyback until late game.. not cutting it for me. rather see a boomerang even in a dual deck

Hmm, given the current direction the deck is taking, and the amount of slots required to support Grozoth, I can understand voting him out. I'm going to spend my vote for today voting against the 2 Soul Foundry though, as Quicksilver Amulet just feels much more flexible for the deck. The Foundry is also a risky investment that could get easily blown up before we get to activate it, netting us card disadvantage.
Are we allowed to make multiple votes in a day? I thought GMaDs allowed for one addition/removal per day? Also, just a thought, 3x Forbidden Orchard in the landbase. Smart opponents will avoid playing creatures until they can take care of our board position. Forbidden Orchard fixes that (and our mana!). Don't think we should add a playset though because we don't want to be giving them too many tokens too early in the game.
you can vote against any number of cards, as long as you can justifiy why they should be removed. people have been getting into the habit of doing "what he said" justifications.

DCI Level 1 Judge-
Thanks to Heroes of the Plane for the awesome Sig.
Just to put some votes up on the board so we have some options, here's what I'm gonna go with:
First, I'm gonna vote against all of the white cards (sans Jareth, since I already voted against him). The deck is a bit cluttered at the moment and we need to make cuts somewhere. I feel the White portion is unnecessary and we could manage to do everything we need to in Mono-U. For early defense, we can use cheap, utility creatures like Sea Gate Oracle and Fog Bank and it's easy to protect the 'Plasm via counters and bounce. The one card I'm sad to lose is Gideon. We could up the amount of Siren-type cards we have if we want to force attacks still.
So...
-1 Wooly Razorback
-1 Wall of Nets
-3 Swords to Plowshares
-2 Gideon Jura
Next, I'll add the last vote to nix Soul Foundry. It's a cool idea, but ultimately it ends up really clunky. It costs 8 mana to use the first time and leaves us really open to getting 2-for-1'd. Plus, I have an addition in mind that functions somewhat similar.
-2 Soul Foundry (OUT)
I'll also add a vote against Equilibrium. I understand what it's trying to do here, but Equilibrium works best when you're either casting a bunch of cheap creatures or getting value from repeatedly bouncing your own critters. To me, it looks like we intend to cheat out a fattie or two with the 'Plasm and then ride it to victory. I love Equilibrium, but this doesn't feel like the deck for it.
-2 Equilibrium
For my addition, I'll be adding in a pair of Phyrexian Metamorph. It has some pretty awesome synergy with the 'Plasm if we copy it, since after we bounce the pseudo-Aetherplasm back to our hand and cheat in a fatty, we can recast the Metamorph to get an additional copy.
It also works great when you cheat it into play off of Aetherplasm, since you can either copy whatever you're blocking, usually resulting in killing it off, or copy something bigger and keep your creature around.
Note that we're still at 74, so please keep up the good work on tweaking the deck so that we have plenty to work with. I'm really pleased with how well this GMAD is going so far =)

OK, then, I'm doing it. Adding x2 Quicksilver Amulet, bringing the deck to 74 (still alive!).
It appears that Grozoth isn't doing much here except as a backup for just a few cards; since we didn't go that route, I'm also voting to remove him.
Although the buyback is nice for Capsize, I'm nervous about paying three mana for a bounce spell (6 mana with buyback). Voting against that as well.

I didn't see that in the rules, but I will change my previous post in the interest of avoiding any possible rule-breaking!

Why would someone waste time repeating what someone said if they agree. Just saying.
Will keep my other comments too myself.
