I guess looking back on it I wasn't clear about my use of "legal." I should have said that those cards are restricted. If you guys have gotten this far on the back of 4 Sol Ring then don't worry about changing it, it's not the end of the world.
The use of 4 Sol Ring doesn't "make the deck." One is fine. The only difference it made was the decision of 23 land vs 24.
Down to 1 sol ring.
I would like more Mimic Vats. Voting to up to 3.
A second vote against Siren's Call...we have enough cards like that and the one to go has been decided.
Vote to add 2 copies of Mimic Vat. Nice card, fits the theme of using our opponents strength against them.
Vote to remove Siren's Call (Gone now...)
Vote to limit us to one copy of Duplicant. One is enough.
Vote to remove Sawtooth Loon. Not enough body. And it has a built-in dependancy.

now that we have the mimic vats in, i'm going to add
3 Aethersnipe because we can evoke him into play or plasm him into play. if evoked into play, we can pay 3 every round and have a reusable bounce without buy back (bye bye capsize, already voted against it, or i would again. over and over again.)
voting against kederekt leviathan because it will bounce our finely placed vats. and amulets... no good... no good.
Also voting against keiga. love that creature, but he has to die for his ability to take place. this deck is more interested in creatures that do things when they enter the field.
other creatures i was looking at: Denizen of the Deep - allows for reuse of etb effects + protector from wipes if on a vat Bringer of the White Dawn - can get our beautiful vats and amulets back Hoverguard sweepers - cheat into play, bounce threatS Roil Elemental - stealing can be fun Sunblast Angel - cheat into play, kill all attacking creatures. vat it into play every time they attack. if it kills any of our creatures, put it on the vat
comes into play abilities are really powerful with this deck. we should take more advantage of that.
i know this is all of a sudden looking like a vat deck, but really the focus is around what the plasm does. put creatures into play. i've been play testing my own version of this deck and it's awesome. plasm sets the flavor of the deck, and vat helps it, especially when i put the plasm on the vat!

A 5/5 flyer is not bad at all. And when they swing if the creature is large enough it will kill Keiga and we get said creature. Keiga is also amazing on vat if you can get him in the yard. Even so he puts the opponent on a short clock.

You don't necessarily need a sacrifice outlet for Keiga. Either they answer him and you get a free Mind Control or they don't and they die.

and now we're playing their game, instead of making them play ours. too conditional when we can have creatures that do things when we want them to. we'd need a sac outlet to take advantage of him completely, otherwise, i don't see him worth it.. you are correct, but i still dont' feel it's a good fit and thus my vote against it stands. if you disagree, counter my vote.

This is the part that gets me. They are still playing our game. Keiga will almost always be a win-win situation for us. As G L J said, they either deal with him or they die. Unless they deal with him in a certain manner (exile, return to hand/deck) then we get a mind control, if they leave him there and have no flying creatures then they are on a very short clock. I understand what your getting at, I just think the idea of the ETB creatures (which is not bad at all, cause I love ETB effects) is what's making you want to drop him, not the fact the he is bad in the deck cause he isn't.

Thanks to Heroes of the Plane for the awesome Sig.
I like Keiga, The Tide Star in this deck. Essentially, we want to pound some face with this deck, and that can help us pound some more face by taking control of a pesky win con. Voting to keep it, thereby negating the vote against.
The same thing goes for Kederekt Leviathan. So, he bounces our cards; he bounces our opponent's cards too. I don't think that will mess with our deck too much if he's a singleton. Vote to keep.
Plumeveil almost seems necessary, especially if we want to block a large creature or a creature with deathtouch without losing one of our intricately-cheated-into-play fatties. Remember, Aetherplasm won't always be there. Also voting to add one.
I'm still thinking of ways to get our creatures in. Here's one: Braids, Conjurer Adept! Sure, our opponents get creatures, but have you seen our creature list?
Adding a Sunblast Angel. Really good when you cheat it into play after forcing an attack with Gideon. Kills their board.
Vote to kill Borderpost. If we want a mana rock, I like Azorius Signet much better since it doesn't come into play tapped and doesn't cost a land drop.
OK.
I'm adding three Azorius Signet, to help/accelerate with the mana. This ends the foreplay. We are at 75 cards.

I'm voting to remove one copy of the Bringer of the Blue Dawn, because it's a really expensive card, and it feels like a 'win more'.
Voting to remove a copy of Venser, because it does not have enough body.

I'm voting to remove one copy of the Bringer of the Blue Dawn, because it's a really expensive card, and it feels like a 'win more'.
I'm not sure what you mean by "too expensive" and "win more" as compared to the rest of the expensive creatures in the deck. By that logic, should we also cut Inkwell Leviathan? Kederekt Leviathan? Perhaps the "alternative casting cost" feels out of place, but he's a beater and a card-drawing engine, and I disagree that he "wins more" than the other cards.
I'm changing the placeholder lands to plains since the deck has white.
The Fieldmist Borderpost was a good idea, but with 23 lands, a Sol Ring, and the signets, it's no longer necessary. I'm casting the third vote to remove it.
Casting the third vote to reduce Duplicant by one as well. We have two Phyrexian Metamorphs, which, in my humble opinion, is a better card anyway.
Casting the third vote to remove Venser, Shaper Savant. This deck is basically a "cheat the fatties in" type of deck, and I don't think he fits the theme.
Fair enough. I think that Bringer Of The Blue Dawn is too expensive: 7UU for the 5/5 protectionless, evasionless body that he puts on the table. The levathians have better ways of protecting themselves. Or returning to play. That is why I've voted to cut him. (We need to cut stuff...)

That I can live with. You meant to write "win less," obviously.
I've already voted a bunch today, but I'm loathe to cut too many creatures. This is a creature cheat deck, after all. Just sayin'.
We've got to cut, and I don't want to cut too many creatures; still, I don't see a choice. I like this deck as a 70 card deck!
I really like Sunblast Angel, but her ETB ability is a bit too conditional. She's useless if opponent's cards are untapped, so I'll add another vote to remove.
I also think we have enough going on that we don't need three Aethersnipe (and I do love that card), so I also vote to remove one. Two is plenty for this deck.
I think that Mimic Vat is a nice choice, but at this stage, adding two more is bringing the deck in a different direction, and a singleton should be enough. I'm negating one of the votes to add two.
And...I'm really not sure where to go from here. I like the cards in this deck.
As a fan of Aethersnipe I think his effect is worth keeping here, not much control/assist from spells, so his ability could be vital. Voting against removal.
I'm also no fan of Forbidden Orchard, as anything that benefits the opponent, even if we have some way of controlling it in the deck, is never absolute. Voting to remove/replace with basics.
The biggest problem/weakness of the deck is that it's heavily dependent on our opponent to function. Granted, creatures are a very big part of the game, but a good deck never relies on their opponents and should always have a means of its own to produce deck functionality. We are already executing this practice through Alluring Siren and Gideon Jura, as smart opponents would avoid attacking us once they know what we're up to, but who's to say that just forcing them to attack us is enough? What if our opponent delays his or her creature drops? What if we play against a deck full of flying or unblockable creatures? What if we play against a creature-less deck? Forbidden Orchard takes the deck's independance to the next level by providing our opponent with creatures! I chose to put 3 in here because, as you mentioned, it can benefit the opponent if used often. I could see this being voted down to 2 of to be cautious, but I think Forbidden Orchard should exist in the deck in some form.
Voting to remove an Aethersnipe. It seems like a distraction from the main thrust of the deck, and frankly I'd prefer another Capsize if we really need to bounce things. (I might have suggested removing two or even all three, but I didn't want to overcomplicate things.)
Voting to remove one Keiga, the Tide Star. A good card, but something's got to give in this deck. Might as well let it join the ranks of the deck's singletons.
Voting to keep Sunblast Angel. I've run it before and it's incredibly useful, especially since we need the removal.
Voting against adding more Mimic Vats. Just because it's a powerful card doesn't mean it fits the theme. I really don't think we need it at all. (I recall that the original proposal to add it was to synergize with Venser, and there's isn't even a Venser in the deck.)
I'm a little bit short on time, but I'll add in a couple votes:
-1 Aethersnipe: For trimming purposes. We still have 2 to synergize with the Aetherplasm and a singleton Capsize to repeatedly bounce threats.
-1 Azorius Signet: We have plenty of mana sources, but these are important for giving us some colored mana, which helps us to hardcast some of our threats and make up for the Deserts, which are a pretty sweet addition.
Swap out Coastal Tower for Sejiri Refuge. The Refuge is strictly better and you never know when that one life may count.
Swap out Coastal Tower for Sejiri Refuge. The Refuge is strictly better and you never know when that one life may count.
I'll go and do that, as the Towers were my addition. I wouldn't called the Refuge "strictly better" as far as the 1 life goes.
voting out-
1 Alluring Siren, for thinning purposes and i like symmetry.
1 Court Hussar, again for thinning and symmetry
1 Sword to Plowshares, again- thinning and symmetry Braids, Conjurer Adept- i honestly don't see the reason why she should be in the deck. giving our opponent a free drop is a bad idea when we're trying to Ambush creatures with Aetherplasm...
All Deserts and Forbidden Orchards, we could use better lands. Deserts would be better if we're facing numerous X/1 creatures; orchards are useless since we're not running colors that are hard to mesh.
SELVAXRI! King of Misfortune & Master of Rocket Launchers "Do ya feel lucky? Because you'd better start runnin' while you still can." 375 Misfortune {+3 signed AP's} & 104 Rocket Launcher (41 AQ/ 63 Rev) Edgar Rice Burroughs, forgotten legend of the word.
Casting the final vote to remove 1 Alluring Siren because we have Gideon doing the same thing and we have two more to work with; plus we need to cut, so....
I originally thought that Braids, Conjurer Adept might be a nice way to sneak some creatures in, but she has very little support, so I'll also vote to remove her.
I also don't see mana as a problem in this deck, and in the interest of keeping our creatures over our artifacts, I also vote to remove 2 Azorius Signets.
Vote against Braids as well; we're going to be cheating fatties in to block their critters, most likely we'll be winning the engagement; we don't need to give them stuff back.
Vote to keep Sunblast; It's a cute trick to drop in combat and eliminate their entire offensive formation. It'll help a lot against swarm type decks. It also allows us to immediately counterattack the following turn with a 4/5 flyer, since they'll have to spend some time to rebuild.
Vote to keep Court Hussar; a cheap early critter to drop and fix our draws. He'll chump the early game and help get our plasms out.
Vote to remove Swords to Plowshares. Cheap removal is nice, but I don't think we'll need to worry too much in the early game, and late game our Aetherplasms will gold the line well enough. If we're facing an early swarm, negate can be used to offensively block key attackers, otherwise serves double duty in protecting our plasms.
At this point, Swords to Plowshares just feels like "random removal," and it's just dropped into an Aetherplasm deck. Adding another vote to remove it altogether.
At this point, Swords to Plowshares just feels like "random removal," and it's just dropped into an Aetherplasm deck. Adding another vote to remove it altogether.
Voting to remove Swords to Plowshares for same reason: gone. Now we are down to 62 cards. My vote is to remove Plumeveil. It's a great card but all of the other cards seem to fit with the deck better.
The use of 4 Sol Ring doesn't "make the deck." One is fine. The only difference it made was the decision of 23 land vs 24.

These are the decks that I have constructed, and are ready to play:
01. Ankh Sligh to be exact.
That I can live with. You meant to write "win less," obviously.
I've already voted a bunch today, but I'm loathe to cut too many creatures. This is a creature cheat deck, after all. Just sayin'.

I could see this being voted down to 2 of to be cautious, but I think Forbidden Orchard should exist in the deck in some form.
sunblast angel is just the actual power we need in this deck. all of our other moves bounce a single creature/permanent. he kills them all. keeping.
mimic vat as a one of is useless, bad call dude.

- Reya Dawnbringer // - Mistform Ultimus // - Balthor the Defiled // - Urabrask the Hidden // - Mirri, Cat Warrior
I'll go and do that, as the Towers were my addition. I wouldn't called the Refuge "strictly better" as far as the 1 life goes.
voting out-
1 Alluring Siren, for thinning purposes and i like symmetry.
1 Court Hussar, again for thinning and symmetry
1 Sword to Plowshares, again- thinning and symmetry
Braids, Conjurer Adept- i honestly don't see the reason why she should be in the deck. giving our opponent a free drop is a bad idea when we're trying to Ambush creatures with Aetherplasm...
All Deserts and Forbidden Orchards, we could use better lands. Deserts would be better if we're facing numerous X/1 creatures; orchards are useless since we're not running colors that are hard to mesh.

Vote to keep the Forbidden Orchard. It gives them creatures which will then allow us to make them attack us to cheat in our fatties.

Voting to remove Swords to Plowshares for same reason: gone. Now we are down to 62 cards. My vote is to remove Plumeveil. It's a great card but all of the other cards seem to fit with the deck better.
