My card of choice for this round is Phyrexian Soulgorger. A brutally efficient creature with a punishing drawback. Can we find a way to work around it?
Here are our rules:
1. Follow the official GMAD rules.
2. Follow all forum rules.
3. Legacy restricted list.
4. Explain your card choices and remember to check that the list in your post is up to date.
5. No specific price limit in mind, but try to keep suggestions under 10 bucks a piece. (Edit - I mean 10 bucks for the total value of the suggestion. A single 10 dollar card would be fine for a suggestion; four 2.50 cards would be fine; but four 5 dollar cards would be too much.)
6. Update deck price total after each addition/removal.
7. This deck will be intended for duels.
8. Soulgorger doesn't have to be the only win con; this is more about making a deck that he works in.
adding 2 bitterblossom for creatures every turn. might help early game as they are fliers, and will definitely help ease the pain of sacing if this guy is out.
i also suggest mortician beetle, as he'll get big too, but you'll prob have to eventually sac him as well. 1 drop creatures, maybe with a way to recur them is the key i feel. deathgreeter , also a good possibility would be to just buff this guy crazy for 1 to 2 turns to win. berserk, blazing shoal with the appropriate setup, etc.
i like black when being forced to sac my own things (grave pact), but green/red token could work just as well.. eldrazi spawn even.

Aren't additions supposed to be $10 or less?
Shaharazad also asked to update deck prices. Nobody (including me and including Shaharazad) listened. I guess I'll do that now.
Adding 3 Eon Hub as another way to get around the drawback. Sorry, but I don't have acess to Magiccards.info at work, so I would appreciate it if someone could update the prices.
Adding 3 Fling. A cheap, direct and effective way to use the Soulgorger. Alternatively, can fling a charged-up Hex Parasite. And splashing R is easier than splashing Chisei's UU.
Vote to remove all copies of Chisei; we have 11 cards that remove counters and 4 cards that generate counters, and Chisei is dead without a Soulgorger on the board.

You realize that without updating the decks with your votes included, it doesn't count, right?
Adding 2 Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker (@ $1.27ea). We have a fair number of 1 power creatures, and this allows us to continuously sac stuff to the soulgorger. It also allows for more utility sac effects/etb effects.
Why do we need to include the prices? There isn't a cumulative total, we just need to avoid adding more than $10 at once. Voting to remove the price tags (-1)...
adding 3 Breeding Pit as sacrifice fuel for the soulgorger
Voting against;
All Chisei, Heart of Oceans (-2)- we have a lot of counter removal, but not enough stuff that adds counters.
All Eon Hub (-2) - slow, clunky, we can build around the sacrifice objective
Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.
Just like the many lives.
For the us who are still in it and still in the journey, send warm blessings.
- We will continue to walk down this path until eternity.
Adding four Nuisance Engine. It's basically a cheaper ($ and 1 ), easier to cast (colourless) and easier to keep alive (colourless) version of Breeding Pit that allows us to decide when to spend the mana.
I also vote to cut:
- Pit: 'cuz Engine does its job so much better.
- Chisei: Too few cards with counters. -3 and cut.
Vote to keep:
Eon Hub: I don't want to cut it yet.
adding two Thopter Assembly- it will give us consistant tokens to sac, without having to pay any mana or use any tricks.
Voting to cut out Fling- right now, we're running black, and Trinket Mage is vying for a spot against Fling to make this deck viable. what would you rather have- a fetcher or a damage spell at the cost of our beef?
the big problem with the Soulgorger is: he's all beef. he doesn't have any threatening abilities... without those, our opponent can chumpblock at leisure...

Not necessarily. With B, we have plenty of access to creature removal.
We need to decide on other colors, then. B is so far the dominant contributor here, but we can splash one of the following: R gives us access to Fling, which makes our Soulgorger more threatening in the burn sense. U gives us Distortion Strike etc.

We're already at $45.00 with only 39 cards. I'm pretty sure Bitterblossom exceeds the price limitations for this deck.

Is there another big, cheap threat similar to soulgorger? Something that could benefit from the same tricks we are using to make soulgorger better?
