I'm leaning to the umbra, as it's all around useful pump, creature re-use, and can also be used with pinging. Adding 4, as it boosts our agressive strategy, as well as the mage, and gives card advantage and card retention.
We're at 73 cards people. Cut some before we add some.
Voting -1 on crown of flames. While I like the card, I feel that bouncing it for discard fodder does not quite use it to the best potential.
Vote down lava dart, crown of flames, and faithless looting. None of those cards really gives an inherent advantage in a deck where we need cards in hand to discard for many effects.
Dart gets rid of mana sources if we flashback which is bad for a small base. One damage one time (maybe two) isnt worth the slot. Looting is bad if our hand is low. This will be the case probably 95% of the time with all the discard we are already using. Something like dangerous wager would probably be better. Crown is most likely a 2 for 1 where our mana is tied up with damage dealing, dropping threats, or drawing cards.
Look elsewhere, please, i hate to see Eldrazi thrown into a deck just as finisher.

Adding wild guess. The double red makes me worry due to the deck being predominately green. Works better than other red draws though. Switching forest and mountain amounts to reflect green's heavy presence.

adding 2 colossal might, it's usually a creature kill spell, with a little extra damage too due to the trample. keeps our creatures resilient and powerful on a surprise basis. can easily eek the win out when they think they have one more turn.
werebear needs cards in the grave to be our beater, and this helps it, and helps him survive the early turns where he's only a llanowar elf
, especially since we have the tilling triggers that reduce our 'yard count.

I only bring it up since I am not sure how much we want to attack with trampledons or protect Kris Mage. Guess it all comes down to individual taste. The trample does pair well with Deathtouch from the Peddler.

we've got the snake umbra for the kris mage protecting her pretty well and making her a draw engine, feeding herself. i like vines though too, maybe that should go in there in place of something else.
yeah. when you only have to assign lethal. it's 1 with deathtouch, so the remaining will go through. i imagine we'll have to soulbond to a creature other than kris from time to time.
Voting out Harvest Wurm- compared to the Treefolk, it's weak because the bounce is mandatory.
Voting down 1 Tilling Treefolk because i hate it when people tiptoe around the closing count by adding 3-ofs. go all in, or not. We only need two, if we're gonna run two Elders.
and because i don't want to keep tiptoeing around the cut off point:
2 Land Grant. it's a free landfetch we can feed to either the Mongrel or Mage, when we play it right.
and honestly, i hate the "cut off at 75 cards" because i know people will gripe about me adding cards to 76 cards... what's the difference of 1 land grant, especially when we're running several 3-ofs?

I am not a fan of dragging this on, but looking at the list, it seems it needs a little more. First, though, it needs more room. Downvote 2 elder. Downvote all harvest wurm. No need to make werebear worse.

my problem with Vines of Vastwood is it distracts from the focal point of the deck- Kris Mage. there's other ways to "protect" the mage [Broken Fall/Molting Skin] than to beef it up. with beefing up the Mage, people would rather pump up something that hits harder.

I did not realize we hit the cutting phase. The list i posted was up to date afaik. If you are referring to the goings on a page or two back, that was figured out and rule 1.1.4 was accepted.

I had not considered broken fall. It should have made it in! The protection from vines was really secondary in my mind to the pump AND protection it would provide for those few extra points or even to allow snakeform to be cut completely for better cards, such as broken fall. Perhaps i just worry too much about not getting set up quickly enough with Kris mage to hold the board as we have no options if we get overpowered or overwhelmed too quickly. We couldnt even race in those cases.

Is the trample really what you want when you do not get Lightning Bolt protection? Giant Growth or Titanic Growth let you survive a bolt, just no trample. Or Vines of Vastwood for non-damage based removal.

I had not considered broken fall. It should have made it in!
