Hey all. I'm thinking about making a deck that focuses on using the epic spells. The three I want to use are Endless Swarm, Enduring Ideal, and Eternal Dominion, so it will be a bant deck.
I'm looking for two types of cards.
First, I am looking for cards that can copy my epic spells when I cast them. These can be instants, sorceries, enchantments, creatures, etc. So far I've come up with:
I'm also looking for cards that will be able to let me still do stuff after an epic spell as resolved. These would be something like searching my library for a card or putting a card from my hand into play. Ideally I would like to resolve any epic spell, and be able to search up Uyo or Echo Mage and put it in play to copy the spell every upkeep.
Any and all thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
Edit:
Also I'm looking for enchantments that I should search for with Enduring Ideal.
I have wanted to build a deck similar to this for a long time. I actually think that playing all 5 colors would be the most effective. Adding black and red you get the best tutors and additional cheap copy spells. But for Bant colors I would say your most important cards are going to be the blue tutors.
So: Personal Tutor Mystical Tutor
are pretty key.
If you want to ensure you can Uyo or other copying creatures I would also run: Worldly Tutor
Gate to the Aether lets you still play things while you have an epic spell out. War Tax and Collective Restraints are other cards that tax people for attacking you. Dueling Grounds is another card that restricts attacks, but it's a nonbo with the taxing effects. You can also use Enduring Ideal to find Phyrexian Unlife and Delaying Shield so you can't lose! I like the deck idea, it's very epic. (I just couldn't help that pun)
If they're going to print old flavor bad cards, I think they should reprint Yawgmoth's Bargain. It wouldn't even see play, since at 6 mana, you want to affect the board immediatly and play a super good Titan that taps permanent down. And I mean, wth? It makes you lose life and your free draw each turn. It would just be another junk mythic with all the morons saying "bad in constructed, but will fit right in my X edh deck."
I made a Maralen of the Mornsong deck that uses Neverending Torment. I know it's not great but it's budget and fun to play for the first few times. Especially when they don't do anything about the general or you're not playing against blue. The deck is here.
On Mythic Rares: "What's next, Wizards will print six golden Black Lotuses and randomly place them in boosters, and if someone gets one, they get to tour the Wizards facility?"
Enduring Ideal has tons. Track down some of the lists for 60 decks for ideas. Dovescape → Gravity Sphere → Form of the Dragon leaves pretty limited options open if you dip into red. Dovescape is pretty much always a safe place to start with Ideal, because it protects all the subsequent choices.

I think it would be kind of cute to add Birthing Pod to this deck. You could turn endless swarm tokens into big nasty creatures over time, and Elvish Piper would allow you to play creature cards through Epic.
Who is your general if you have picked yet? If anything Mana Reflection + Doubling Season may help you here. Also an infinite turns engine would help too. Maybe try fitting Omnath in so when you get your infinite turns your green mana will flow over? Just a thought.

With the right tutors and/or hand manipulation cards, you can put one of your epic spells on top of your library, then cast a different one, cascading into the one on top. Since cascade happens before resolution of the first spell, both will be on the stack, avoiding the 'no further spells being cast' clause on Epic.
Wow, I'm surprised to see this thread still going. I ended up making this deck Esper colors (WUB) and having the general be Merieke Ri Berit. I'll post a link to a deck list when I get off of work.
I play Enduring Ideal in a Progenitus deck, lots of fetch. Most important card is Paradox Haze. Starfield of Nyx is huge, but the turn after Enduring Ideal, get Impending disaster followed by Island Sanctuary, which provides great defense and keeps me from having to draw cards. If that doesn't make them scoop, next turn put Worms of the Earth and if somebody is loaded with artifacts, put out Energy Flux. If you have a board full of flyers against you, Archtype of Imagination useful
I think playing blue allowing you to copy Epic spell is the greatest strength it could offer. Eternal Dominion also gives you longevity compare to other Epic spell, since you'd be stealing others' deck instead of putting destroyable permanents into play. In 1v1 though, Never Ending Torment is quite devastating.
Enduring Ideal is a great card (points at signature) played with it a ton, playing Multiple of them in the same deck without some or multiple ways of giving them flash would be tricky and they also play very different and I am unsure if the Green / Red ones do that much for you in a Commander game.
Thousand-Year Storm is another way to just make a bunch of them happen out of the gate instead of using stuff like Paradox Haze after they have resolved although that is still good.

A quick Gatherer search yielded these cards.

So far I have:
It's not a creature, but Windborn Muse seems helpful.
Double edit: Maybe I can help. Transmute will allow you to search after you get an epic online. Here's a link to all the blue ones. http://magiccards.info/query?q=o%3Atransmute+c%3Au&v=card&s=cname
