I highly suggest you read the card and then look at all the good EDH staple spells. You'll notice that omniscience basically takes every good EDH spell and makes them cost 0 mana. Out of all the big spells in EDH, this is now the most powerful out of all of them. There is no reason to dismiss it because nothing compares to it's power level.
That means Erase is the second-best magic card ever, because it destroys the best magic card ever? :')
So this is stronger than Genesis Wave? Better than Prime Titan, Primal Surge or Tooth and Nail?
Dream halls is no wear near this card's power level. It's miles behind now. Dream halls gives your opponents the ability to discard cards to cast spells for free as well as you. That's crap compared to omniscience.
Dream Halls is crap compared to this? Did you ever play that card right?
Who cares about the effect, you are probably winning this turn anyway.
Well, what can you expect from someone claiming that nothing reaches Omniscience's powerlevel..
Coalition victory is banned and battle of wits does not work in EDH, try it, will never work. Besides you need to wait a whole turn for battle of wits to work if it could work. Those are not comparable.
Barren glory needs to be built around.
I am not comparing those, learn to read.
What I did was point out how those LITERALLY said that "you win the game".
Omniscience only requires that you have cards that do stuff and it practically breaks draw spells. This card wont lead to fun times EDH, the only thing it will lead to is sour endings, that's it, there's no in betweens or interactivity with this card.
Cry me a river.
I am soooo sorry that your Tooth and Nail wins now have competition in green.
But I get your point! How does a non-green deck even dare to win the game?

Hey. Green is completely fair and balanced in every way. No green player should have to deal with things that destroy/counter/prevent anything that they can do. What part of fun don't you understand you elitist blue player. How dare you try and have a game with reactions.
I wanna start by saying that the card is certainly nuts, but not ban-worthy or "too good." Sure, it enables combos, but so do tons of other things, and they aren't banned. The blue players who can combo out already gain nothing from the card (since they have it already). It can fit into niche decks like Riku of Two Reflections because it helps his already mana-hungry mentality, and can be supported by the ramp given to it by green, but even in that case they probably already run Palinchron infinite combos, so what's the use? Is it a great card? Yes. Is it powerful? Certainly. Is it game-breaking? I think not.
As an aside though, reading this thread has given me endless amounts of joy. The phrase "Don't feed the troll" clearly doesn't have meaning here. Thank you all for the amusement. It's made my otherwise dull afternoon quite hilarious. Y'all should be giving serious thanks to Weebo, since he clearly has the patience of a god. If I had been moderator, this would have closed down a while ago, with all the name calling and poo-flinging. Just silly. Cheers.
These last few posts just made me stare blankly saying "whaaa....."
Omniscience, is not ban-worthy, in my opinion. Not in the least bit. Sure, it is "infinite mana", but you can only cast things from your hand. Like other broken things you have to build a win around this. Otherwise it's just a big neat and dumb enchantment.

...I'm a blue player and I want this banned. The only problem with dream halls is that it creates card disadvantage the cards you play have to count more than omniscience. Omniscience allows you to set up and dig way easier than dream halls. Sure dream halls comes down faster, but the actual execution of the spells is harder to pull off, you have less of a margin of error. Omniscience just doesn't whiff nearly as hard.
I agree. We should all only play g/x decks because they are the most objectively fun and anyone who disagrees does not know the truth about EDH. Everyone should just play their decks because interaction beyond high fiving about how many land are in play is unfun and equivalent to casting Stasis while kicking puppies. I for one will never play with anyone who casts tutors, removal spells, blue cards, things I arbitrarily decide I don't like but will probably cast myself later.
There's absolutely no reason to ban this. If you want this banned, you're ridiculous; it's VERY RESTRICTIVE "infi mana" for non-X spells from your hand only.

If you aren't winning with Dream Halls, then you are doing it wrong. I think we've already discussed this a million times and no one's position is going to change. Playing Black Lotus is only a one-time effect so that must be bad.

You're going to have a handful of draw spells w/o an X in it's cost. You're almost guaranteed to get another draw spell, and with Tom on the field, you're close to guaranteed to get more than 1 to continue the chain/up your storm count/pull a win-con.
I don't think it needs to be banned; I think it's a really great card with a lot of fun potential.

So what?
If I want to combo, there are a dozen easier and better things to do than to cast an enchantment I can hardly tutor, cheat into play or recur.
If a blue player wants to combo, you are better off with Dream Halls since you will combo in turn 5.
If you just build a random blue-deck, than you are playing the colour wrong.
And that's just mono-blue! Adding more colours to your deck only increases the other/better possibilities.
Am I going to add this to my deck? Yes.
Because it's overpowered? No, because it's exactely as strong as you should expect from a 10-mana card and it's fun to see it hit play.
I will say i play omniscience in my deck as well and it really helps not saying it needs to be banned cause it doesnt but in some decks like my dragons and angel deck it stands out do to the fact that even with it not on the field my deck revolves around cheating and playing cards in for free so i do agree with you that it doesnt mean it should be banned cause then my hole deck should be banned the way it runs ending games in 4 to 5 turns
