Yeah, Golos is nuts. I’ll definitely grab a copy for my Ur-Dragon.
I also want Angelic Cleric for Bruna. Low on the curve, high on board presence and easily abusable. I love it when there’s sleeper tech in the commons and uncommons.

Same, being able to get a non basic land is excellent, Then pay 7 to have him net you potentially 3 cards. In dragon tribal that is great.
You can play an extra land this way right? Or is it still restricted to the 1 land per turn thing? (I ask because it says you may play it which I believe overrides the 1 land/turn (kind of like the "a deck can have any number of cards named X" cards)
So does anyone think the new Kaalia will actually be useful instead of just being a niche card in old Kaalia?
I hope tomorrow we will get an awesome legend
I see Kaalia, Zenith Seeker being a better general than "of the vast". cheaper cost with a bigger body and vigilance. I mean sure of the vast allows you to out them into play, but i think the cheaper cost for a bigger creature will pay off. (i see them co existing though, kaalia (regardless of which) decks will run the other.

I dunno, ETB triggers from the command zone can be strong, but they need building around and this one just doesn't seem all that worth it. Especially having to reveal the card. I just think Vast is more easily abused and probably reaches a pinnacle of strength in a build that this one just won't be able to reach.

Ah, if people switch from Vast to Zenith Seeker i will only be happy about that. But i don't think it will happen

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Field of the Dead seems like it has too many drawbacks to really be playable outside of a dedicated landfall deck. It's nonbasic, produces colorless, enters tapped, and needs 7 lands with different names before you even get its payoff, which is just a 2/2 zombie. Even in decks that can use the zombie as sac fodder this just doesn't feel like it hits the mark. Too weak IMO.
I feel like this new Kaalia would make a very good midrange Angel commander, very different deck from Vast.
Agree. WotC has printed some smaller angel/dragon/demon which would go well with Kaalia v.2 compare to Kaalia v.1, and the various life-gain/aristocrat strategy that emphasis on going numerous would favor new Kaalia also.
The question is how likely will Kaalia v.2 replenish your hand on the first cast? Assuming seven cards opening hand and casting Kaalia at turn three, that's top six cards out of 90/91 cards, you'd need a creature base strategy and perhaps changeling tribal spells to boot. There are a lot more tutors in EDH, yes, but I presume people usually reserve those for more important cards than a creature.

I think you're expecting too much from a land. For one thing, the "different names" clause is almost irrelevant (well, needing 7 lands is obviously relevant but the names part isn't). Most decks with non-budget manabases that are more than 2 color should have few basics. It does make it a little antisynergistic with basic-only ramp, but making a 3-color manabase with no repeating lands is very easy.
Once you've got that going, this has the potential to be really strong considering it's still a land. Imagine playing scapeshift as a copy of army of the damned. Or just getting 2 free zombies every time you play and crack a fetch. That's a lot of nearly-free value.
I think this has serious legs for quite a few decks. As long as you're not playing a budget manabase with a lot of basics, and you're not playing a fast combo deck that isn't too concerned with value post-turn-7.
Only redeeming thing about Golos to my mind is that it's a lot easier to kill than Narset. Because otherwise *loud raspberry* Wizards loves to give us these legendary creatures that give free spells, and sometimes with cards like Etali and Yennett they do alright where you get to have your fun and not either take 20 minute turns or literally all the turns, and then with Narset and Golos the temptation is just too great for a deckbuilder to make something that creates a scenario of three people watching the fourth play solitaire.
Not. A. Fan.
Which is funny because the new Kaalia being a card advantage engine rather than a mana skipping engine is pretty good.
But i think i will still run her. if i can get two Counter doublers up (Doubling season wit copy enchnatment or clever impersonator) then i can ult her turn she comes out.
Granted I am not running mono blue, so the best it can do for me is 8 island in my deck (4 dual and 4 shock) (I will still get her, (i still wish to obtain every PW) but she is not going in my superfriends deck.

legion's end is almost as good as a surgical vs rat/apostle/petitioners
interesting we are seeing the goblin ringleader in 2020. cant wait to see what other goblin support they may be printing
Relentless Rats cost 3
i was thinking of rat colony. forgot about relentless rats

Chandra's Regulator, on the other hand, is probably going to replace Dismissive Pyromancer in every Red EDH deck I own.
Whew >.< missed that line in food chain. looks like Niv stays as the food chain commander.
risen reef looks like its gonna be interesting. a coiling oracle for every elemental. i wanna see it being abused with morophon.

But with cards like Volrath's Stronghold and Haunted Crossroads, you can ensure a dead creature will return to your hand.

Fair though, in that she doesn't immediately have a way to defend herself directly, and it's hard enough to hit -8.
