So I've been pumped up about Admiral Beckett Brave ever since it was revealed in Ixalan, and was possibly making a Pirate Tribal deck around him with the help of Arcane Adaptation to make other creatures Pirates . However, given how my deck's focused around that card, it makes it difficult to protect the spell, especially with most hexproof-granting spells being Green or White, so are there any Blue, Black, Red and/or Colorless permanents that could possibly help keep this up, or alternatively, cards similar to Arcane Adaptation that would help transform creatures into the Pirate Sub-Type?
Counterspells can stop the enchantment hate. Conspiracy is the original Arcane Adaptation, and you can recover your enchantments from the grave with Codex Shredder.
Enchantment recursion is not strong in those colours, so you're limited to things like Codex Shredder for recursion. The other option is things like Wild Ricochet and Shunt as well as your standard counter suite. Monastery Siege and Jace, Unraveler of Secrets if you're really in a pinch, though no one in their right mind will let you get away with his ultimate.
You could also go with Possibility Storm - its jank, granted. But it takes all the intention out of spells your opponents cast, and means that when they want a counter/removal, they get something else entirely, and their plan has a higher chance of fizzling. I like the chaos, so I have to mention it as an option.
