The answer you need to the guy that Oath of Druids'd up a t2 Emrakul.
A bit of backstory is needed here. The guy was on 5c Oath, and I wouldn't play into it, for him and I wound up as a result getting a trigger. I hit Lord of Extinction. I then stuck Lethal Vapors. I'm assuming, his only creature was Emrakul so he had to activate the Vapors to keep his eldrazi. My LoE is some 34/34, something ridiculous (we've both been milling thanks to Oath). I attack and he has to block or just lose. He rage scoops because he knows I have the next turn since he skipped it...
This was years ago, back when I was still developing Vhati il-Dal, for those of you that may have followed that project then. Gosh I feel old now.
If you're using Pithing Needle to shut it off, Aether Storm works as a good bit of redundancy.
Nefarox is kind of a sad card. He wants to have similar trigger conditions to Battlegrace Angel, but they might have changed it during development to only trigger on himself. Black exalted was kind of dumb.
I don't get how this is supposed to combo with stasis or whatever. Can't your opponents just skip a similar number of turns? I don't actually know how that works at a tournament, if you just keep going back and forth skipping turns.
In retrospect I should've included that card in my Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge deck because she literally was my commander just to die over and over and keep exiling chunks of my opponent's decks. It would've made for a great social experiment...

I assume you're supposed to skip X turns and then resolve Pithing Needle. This of course assumes your opponent is dumb and doesn't see the object of the win here. Seems shaky at best to me.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I'd squirreled away a deck that used to be on these forums with Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim at the helm where 'outliving' the rest of the table was the goal, after stripping from their hands/libraries/graveyards any method of not decking themselves eventually as you skip hundreds of turns in the finish. Granted, this may have been before Teferi's Protection was printed.
It's basically an almost copy of Court Hussar. This does its job, but something like Champion of Wits would be more sought after since it can loot those two cards instead and has Eternalize.
I like cantrips on bodies. They're usually stronger for me that cantrips on spells.
While being a creture is nice, you're paying for it. This is basically two mana for a pretty useless body unless you have specific synergies (most likely blink). This isn't limited where a 1/3 can actually impact the game. It's not a bad card by any means, but it needs to be in a specific deck rather than being a staple the way many of the spell cantrips (particularly the 1 mana ones) are. Of course, if you are playing a blink deck, it's close to being a no-brainer.
The only thing going for it is being a Wizard. Inalla, Archmage Ritualist can make a token copy of it for an extra 1. Naban, Dean of Iteration can copy the effect. If you have Naban out and Inalla as commander, for 3U you'll be able to get 4 Sea Gate Oracle ETB effects off.
I've always loved the art and flavor but I've never been able to run it, one guy all too often plays Vamps, and even outside of some sort of zombie tribal, zombies turn up in some form every now and then.
I like it, but it's bit me in the ass before because zombies and vampires are common enough that it's problematic that it can't hit them. There's better removal available. In modern it's great tho.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
It's fine for an instant speed removal spell. There's not a lot of important things that you can't kill. Zombie and Vampire Tribal decks eat it to boardwipes.

The problem with this card isn't that it misses too much, but rather that the few times it can't kill what you want, it's extra irritating.
Eh. It's okay-at-best. There's enough unrestricted removal that you shouldn't need this outside of mono-B. It's like Cancel to Counterspell.
