This is one of those cards like Wall of Roots or Garruk Wildspeaker that start paying you back the turn you cast them. "Each of you main phases" is a nice phrase. I'm sure fight mode is alright, but I've never done it.
Even in Dragons.dec I'd go with Khans mode since those flying beasties cost so much cmc that every bit you can get to make them cheaper adds up.

Even on Tarkir it felt a little strange to give a "Flying Matters" card to Green. The Sieges were a nifty cycle that I hope get revisited again soonish (preferably with more balanced modes next time).
Going from 4 to 6 mana is decent, but unspectacular. Going from 4 to 8, even with the caveat that this has to be spread over two spells, and this starts to look very solid. Throw in the fact that you can get two mana back the turn you play it and those weird niche cases where you chose Dragons (I can remember doing it once - it was pretty late game and I had 10+ mana with this and a dragon of some kind in hand and really needed to get rid of something an opponent had) and overall, its worth playing in a lot of decks.

Even in Dragons.Dec you get to a point where extra mana just goes to waste. If you draw it late, throwing it down and naming dragons can be more useful than khans. Same for Bant Angels.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

It actually takes a second to see it when it first debuted. It's even better with Sword of Feast and Famine or Bear Umbra: You get the full six at the start of your second main phase
The fight mode, reminder text makes it hard for me to see its true value. (Every creature with reach is returned when I search for flying. So I'll just limit myself to Akroma's Memorial and Eldrazi Monument, and I guess a couple staple green and artifact creatures with flying like Steel Hellkite and Hornet Queen?) It has more value if you're playing multiplayer, like Jund (or Naya or four or five color, but you really need RG at a bare minimum to make dragon tribal work most of the time anyway) dragon tribal.
Kinda weird how in Commander, every siege usually has one mode you want.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Decent thing, but as said, has a fair few options competing in terms of filtering. Don't currently have it in a deck and can't recall when I'd have considered it either.

Pretty incredible, but I don't often make black inclusive artifact-based decks (I think the last one I made was 5 color Harvestboi. This made it in!) Second in the cycle to the amazing Crystal Shard, but can definitely provide a lot of value.
It includes Wurmcoil Engine, but doesn't go infinite with anything the way Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar do. That said, it doesn't need such specific timing.
Can be useful in Stax, since your artifacts tend to get broken a lot by haters.

This is a solid card weakened considerably by the color identity rules. No mono-B commanders have any synergy with it, and a lot of the multicolor artifact-matters generals are more interested in trinkets and combos. Still, it's a nice little piece of card advantage that I could see getting played alongside stuff like Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle if not for the color identity rules.
Generally speaking, Mana Tithe works hardest when opponents don't expect it. BUT deliberately leaving an untapped plains against people who know you like Mana Tithe is a super efficient way to slow people down. This is like the second half of that without the guess work, but repeatable, and I like that. Also, it's fun to say. Mundungo mundungo mundungo.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
The 1 life is a nice little addition to the tax because even if you play around the tax, you're still doing a little bit of work. Does less in commander.
Another option is countering your own artifact spell before your Mishra, Artificer Prodigy trigger resolves, so nobody else gets the chance to counter your artifact. Far from the strongest Mishra synergy, but making your artifact effectively uncounterable is always nice.
Loses the unpredictability of classic counters, but gains repeatability.
Repeatable counter/10 Would recommend to a friend.

This is stupidly good in the right decks and metas.

On phasing:
Fun act: because you dont lose until the spell finishes resolving, this card can make you die by drawing while having 1 card in your library.
Combos with Grenzo, Dungeon Warden that actually cares about what your bottom card of your library might be. Otherwise, I'd much rather play Concentrate, Sift, Treasure Cruise, or Careful Consideration.

Frontier Siege on the other hand is really good. 4 mana to get an extra 4 every turn as long as you spend it on two spells is amazing.
And then there's the corner case abuse you can get from playing extra combat cards to net 6 or even 8 mana in a turn. I know my record is 10.
