I noticed that I have several excellent targets in my current mono white project for Stonforge Mystic or Stonehewer Giant.
If I do decide to play one of these creatures, I'd really like to run Sword of the Animist for it's land draw ramp. Which means I need to free up a slot somewhere.
It suddenly occured to me as I was looking through my artifacts in deck that I am running 4 Mana rocks.
Just looking for thoughts, opinions, advice... what do you folks think?
Is it a wise decision to rotate out something like Marble Diamond, or Thran Dynamo for land draw?
Angels, and no its not an Avacyn, I honnestly haven't decided on a general yet. There are a lot of good choices besides Avacyn, which seems to be the go to.
and ... No it's frowned upon. I'm packing MLD in a sideboard for more comepetitive metas if need be. But my current play group is casual.

Well...if you're doing mono-white angel tribal, it's hard to imagine you wouldn't pick lyra dawnbringer.
I'd also say you should probably be running 10+ mana rocks. Angels are expensive. You'd better draw at least 1-2 in the first couple turns.
Iona is a bad choice for a casual meta. She is unfun when she hits the table.
What are the stone-forge mystic targets? Sword of the Animist is good. Sword of Fire and Ice is expensive but will help you draw cards, which is sorely needed in mono-white.
I have a mono-white control Angel Tribal deck, captained by Bruna, the Fading Light. My meta is not a tier 1 competitive but most of the decks are very close to optimized build, and this deck definitely can put up a fight.
Some of the rock, ramper and reducer that I bring: Mind stone, Commander's Sphere, Hedron Archive. This mana rocks that can be sac to draw a card is very important in non-blue, non-black deck, Knight of the White Orchid. Best ramp creature in white, play him in turn 3, before you play land so you can get the land ramp trigger. Burnished Hart. A bit expensive and risky if you play in super competitive meta (I had one guy bolt him once). In semi-casual meta, no one cares about him and people would just let you sac him in your next turn. Oketra's Monument. If you play a lot of white creatures, this thing is money. It makes tokens too! Pearl Medallion. Self explanatory. Urza's Incubator. Choose Angel. Suddenly Bruna will cost 5 mana. Weathered Wayfarer. White Staples. People forgets that he can search for ANY land. Endless Horizons. Very efficient, it filters your library and make sure you don't miss your land drop.
Keep in mind that 10 rocks is a must to ensure your mono-white Angel Tribal will run smoothly.
Bruna, the Fading Light works well in a more control build. I bring a lot of board wipe and low cost hatebears (to slow the early game). Having Bruna in my commander zone i don't have to worry about wiping the board or let other people wipe since I can resurrect my beefy angels or hatebears whenever I can
I have a quite good balan wandering knight deck that uses mana rocks because I am running Armageddon due to the fact with cards like pure steel Paladin and some equipment on their own you can just equip for free and if you want card draw sram sinor edificer should help.
One of my pet decks is Bruna, the Fading Light. It's optimized as much as my wallet will allow, which is not fully. I can tell you from experience though, that you will definitely want as much help with ramp/draw as you can get, whether they're the best options money can buy or not. White struggles with both of these, so anything you can get will not go astray.
Militant Angel create a number of 2/2 white Knight creature tokens with vigilance equal to the number of opponents you attacked this turn, for each Militant Angel myrid clone token that ETB.

Also make sure to have things like Arch of Orazca and throne of the high city.

Gaddock Teeg Hatebears
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic Control
Zacama, Primal Calamity Naya Control
Erebos, God of the dead Mono-Black Superfriends
I can verify most of what sefenvold has said, although I don't run Endless Horizons or Burnished Hart at present. Part of what makes Bruna feasible is human tribal support so that you can slow everyone else to pace you can manage. It works remarkably well(Grand Abolisher, Thalia, Heretic Cathar, Fiend Hunter, Magus of the Moat, Magus of the Tabernacle etc). Weathered Wayfarer really is crucial ramp tech, and it's nice to have a way to bounce things like Knight of the White Orchid and Kor Cartographer for repeated triggers too (I know kor is not human or angel, concessions must be made from time to time). I use Stonecloaker and Restoration Angel for these triggers.
It's nice to have some degree of big mana, too - I run Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Dowsing Dagger as sources of bigger mana.
Seeing a decklist, or a list of considered cards would probably help, but you're definitely going to want more than 4 rocks regardless.
