I don't think every Thrasios deck should be Thrasios/Kydele. Kydele would be waste in the deck. It's not a benefit to NOT play a card I want...and to use Kydele instead. Make sense?
Okay, that makes more sense. Besides, they're both pretty goodstuff.
The flipside is, people who play a partner just for the colors. I can only imagine what would happen if Alesha had access to blue (clones) or green (spikes and similar), and either would have access to graft. But she doesn't have partner, so we're safe, but it puts her at a disadvantage against partners.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Personally I love the mechanic, and am hoping we get at least 10 more 2 color options. Or perhaps a cycle of mono colored ones. I hate partner with even though a few of those decks are ok(pir/toothy, will/Rowan). I like partners because they allow me to build around colors rather than commanders. I just built a grixis mind control deck with vial smasher and ludevic. I also have Naya token swarm/life gain with Bruse Tarl and Tana Bloodsower, and a temur creature/ card draw deckbwith Kraum, and kydele

Not really. Would you play more than 60 cards in 60-card format? Most would not and it is the same thing here (not counting battle of wits decks). Starting with 1 less card in deck (in this case permanently sitting in your command zone) IS an advantage.
