This plays much like a traditional control deck, except the majority of your power is in the utility of your creatures. For mid- or late-game power, this deck has several packages of cards it seeks to abuse:
Captain Sisay and Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Between these two cards, you can tutor for just about any creature you need. Captain Sisay will even go and fetch Momir Vig for you!
It's not the fastest deck in the world, but it's fun as heck to play. I really need some help tweaking this further, so suggestions/comments are very welcome!
Kodama's Reach is good, but the artifact mana fits the curve a bit more and has better synergy with Winter Orb and Hokori (speaking of whom, he's in over rising waters because he's easier to tutor for). Lightning Greaves over Shield of the Oversoul because it's cheaper and works well with the tap effects. Chronomantic Escape was just bad, so I threw in Time of Need for some extra tutoring. Suggestions?
I don't think I'd ever play Diligent Farmhand over something like Kodama's Reach or Far Wanderings in a deck like this. Just as often as you cast him early, when you cast him late, his effect is rather underwhelming as a land-accel, and his only advantage is a chump block. The CA you get from the other spells seems more important than being able to chump block imo.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
The Diligent Farmhand is just a sort of (inferior) Sakura Tribe-Elder number 2. In any other deck I would choose Kodama's Reach in a heartbeat, but in this case the Farmhand can turn into a solid card advantage engine with Genesis. The one-shot extra-land card advantage from the other spells just don't seem as important in a long multiplayer game, which is usually the sort of game I find myself playing.
In any case, you still have a good point as far as card quality is concerned. I'll see how it works without him for a little while, as the Farmhand my not be as big of a deal as I'm making him out to be.

I know what you mean abot it being a psedo-STE. However, the only benefits of running this over some of the other sorceries is that you can chump every now and then, and maybe recur him with Genesis. In the long run, that's using up mana and tempo that is better spent on something else like Kodama's Reach. I love KR because not only does it get the same effect (land into play tapped), but it also nets a card in hand, allowing you a land drop the next turn. If you don't have another land in hand after you pop the Farmhand, you have spent just as much mana for a lesser effect.

I've played this deck a lot since the last post, and the Kodama's Reach is definitely paying off (thanks Dr.Awesome!). I've made a few additional changes that I think help significantly.
The cards I took out were either redundant or didn't do enough. On the other hand, the other cards seriously deliver when I play them. Tradewind Rider adds another soft-lock to the deck with Seedborn Muse or Murkfiend Liege. Coalition Relic is obvious, and Rings of Brighthearth does some awesome things with the activated abilities.
this might take your deck in a different direction, but it's really fun to play rubinnia with a few sac outlets. you can steal opposing creatures, sac them, and steal the next. it works great with seedborn muse, murkfiend liege, rings of brighthearth, and thousand-year elixir which you already have.
the gravy card if you get all this going is adarkar valkyrie. steal their critter with rubinia, sac to diamond valley for some life, tap valkyrie and get the creature back anyway, ready to go again the next turn when everything untaps. good times with extremely fragile 7 card combos....

Winter Orb/Static Orb with Icy Manipulator/Scepter of Dominance or Seedborn Muse
Essentially soft-lock the opponents out of the game while getting a full untap yourself.
Dueling Grounds/Silent Arbiter with Kor Haven/Prahv, Spires of Order/Ith, High Arcanist
Leftovers from the Angus Mackenzie build...still good, and difficult for some decks to deal with.
Rings of Brighthearth/Thousand-Year Elixir/Seedborn Muse/Murkfiend Liege
You can go crazy with all of the tap-activated abilities of the creatures...Skyward Eye Prophets and Tradewind Rider are probably my favorites.
Captain Sisay and Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Between these two cards, you can tutor for just about any creature you need. Captain Sisay will even go and fetch Momir Vig for you!
Genesis
This card deserves it's own section...between Eternal Witness, Sakura Tribe-Elder, a Nevermaker soft-lock, and a Gifts Ungiven package, this dude pulls twice his weight.
It's not the fastest deck in the world, but it's fun as heck to play. I really need some help tweaking this further, so suggestions/comments are very welcome!

nevinyrral's disk- board removal
mana vault- mana acceleration
hanna, ship's navigator- art/enchant recursion
resounding silence- uncounterable creature removal
empress galina- steals legendary creatures
Ayesha tanaka- stops arts. WE/activation costs
treva's ruins- gwu bounce land
Won't make the deck all the more greater, but I've found them to be rather useful.

i especially like diamond valley for this, and its cousin miren, the moaning well. fodder cannon, ashnod's altar, phyrexian vault, and spawning pit are nice sac artifacts.
helm of possession is a sac outlet that lets you steal another creature too. along these lines, you can throw in preacher, seasinger, old man of the sea, etc. for more stealing. even sower of temptation is good here, b/c you can sac their creature if they kill the sower.
the gravy card if you get all this going is adarkar valkyrie. steal their critter with rubinia, sac to diamond valley for some life, tap valkyrie and get the creature back anyway, ready to go again the next turn when everything untaps. good times with extremely fragile 7 card combos....
Can you put it in the deck database? I had to look all over for it when I was putting together my Angus list.
