After this whole discussion of Portcullis, I just wanted to say I think Synod Sanctum is better.
except Synod Sanctum can only protect 1 card per turn. Though I have to admit, now that I know it works, I am actually tempted to run either Portcullis or Synod Sanctum.

I'd replace Patriarch's Bidding with Living Death unless you devote more of your creatures to your Dragon sub-theme. Sure, your opponents get their guys back, but all your CIP effects should give you the advantage, especially with stuff like Clone.

I was considering either Rhystic Study or Minds Eye, I think Mind's Eye is more reactive, where as the Study is more proactive which is the goal this deck is trying to go with.
ALSO, Living Death IS on the list already, as is Patriarch's Bidding

Oh sorry I must have skipped over that.
As far as those two draw engines are concerned, if you can, run both because they're obviously both good. If you have to pick one, try testing them both because I find that their usefulness really depends on the people you play with. I can get away with the Study in my group because it doesn't annoy people enough that they will kill me solely for having it, but I've played with some people at a store on occasion that have a completely different attitude. I find with those guys, playing the Eye wasn't so bad because I was the one paying the mana. Either way they'll draw you lots of cards, so try to fit in at least one.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
the deck list has undergone a few more changes. Most notably I am taking Propaganda out in favor of Godo. I might be putting the Propaganda back in at a later date depending on how Godo works out for me in my meta. But I am hoping that the new change works out fairly well.
======================
I have revised the format the deck appears in, so that it is more easy to understand the roles that each of the non-creature cards is fulfilling with in the deck.
Additionally I have managed to obtain the following cards towards this deck within the past week or two:
I'm just giving my opinion of Kikki-Mite that you asked me for a couple of nights ago but I was too tired to give it properly.
I'd say its probably okay since its a two card combo that relies on creatures which should be easy enough to kill if your group runs enough spot removal. They might get tired of the trick after the first time however and begin to target you first in future games played against the deck.
I have decided that depending on if I am playing this deck single player or multi-player will determine whether I use Thraximundar or Blood Tyrant in the deck. Thraximundar is more for 1v1 play. Meanwhile Blood Tyrant given his ability to get gynormous in larger games is more for multi-player games. Though I will only be listing Thraximundar on the deck list.

Realized after the fact that this thread was so old, sorry for the necro, but the question is specifically regarding this list's decision not to use those cards. So is there any reason not to run them?

well, in the case of Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker... I was running him. However I discovered that 9 out of 10 times when I had him in my hand, I never got up to enough mana to actually cast him. Unlike the creature Nicol Bolas, the Planeswalker version you actually have to hard cast in order to get out. The creature on the other hand you can cheat into play for far under its actual casting cost. Making the choice obvious about which one I would rather be playing.
As for Oversold Cemetery. Usually I prefer to be reanimating the cards from the graveyard instead of actually casting the cards from my hand. So obviously effects that bounce them from my graveyard to my hand are kind of unwanted in the deck.

Also maybe give Mind's Eye a try.

unfortunately not currently. Though that is a good idea for my online version of the list, thanks for reminding me
