So my friends have been getting me back into EDH (we have a pretty cool format right now, mono-colored generals only). I have tuned the deck pretty well (still no survival of the fittest, though. I hate shelling out the cash), but I am still wondering if there is more that can be done here.
I have actually had to take some of the focus away from the general because with my general in play, I generate so much card advantage that even +7 cards can run people down to the tens of life before the lategame gets rolling. So people kill my general. A lot. As a result I needed a few good cards to play that aren't legendary so that I don't always feel compelled to play my general every turn (on the bright side, this becomes a nearly unbeatable measuring stick for the kind of removal my opponents are packing... If I get to untap with him in play, they're out!)
Can you beat a mono blue deck with this deck? Or better yet... Can you beat Rofellos with this deck? I wouldnt call that an unbeatable measuring stick. If youre going to run a legendary deck run Sisay. Not to knock your format or anything that yall play with friends but what happens to the game when you play with someone outside of your group who has some kind of nuts tier 1 deck. Your fun will vanish. Just keep in mind if youre playing mono color you have to run the most efficient cards of your color. Just because you dont have 50 Legendary Permanents doesnt mean your deck cant be in theme. If someone puts you on some kind of Venser/Stasis Deck or Throws down a Winter Orb. Lets just leave that to the imagination.
First off, unbeatable measuring stick =/= unbeatable deck. It means that when people stop killing my general, its because they're out of removal, otherwise they would be killing it some more (or they haven't played against the deck and are letting me draw silly amounts of cards).
I haven't played against any tier 1 decks (playing outside my playgroup usually goes in the opposite direction, actually), and unless I go to a tournament (highly unlikely), bringing such a deck is akin to showing up at the kitchen table with a legacy countertop deck anyway.
Needless to say, telling me "don't play that deck" is not a good suggestion to improve it.
Why, sir! You seem to be missing your Krosan Grip. I realize it's not a cantrip, but it's (in my opinion) the best piece of artifact/enchantment removal in the game. Probably worth running. Also, you might consider Keeper of Progenitus as a mana doubler. Non mono-colored Competitive EDH decks tend to not run very many basics, so it still mostly benefits you, especially when every other spell is a cantrip.
If you're having trouble defending your general from removal, I'd suggest Vines of Vastwood. Also, I don't see Tooth and Nail in there anywhere - with all the mana you're generating, it seems good.
Oh, and I've found Insist is excellent against those nasty mono-blue decks running around.
EDIT: No Rancor, either. Come on, man. Those beatsticks want some trample.
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.

Yeah I got that... What I am saying is ok so you try to eventually gain card advantage through tiring youre opponent out. I get the concept what I am saying is Ok so an opponent runs out of removal and you finally get the chance to go on the offensive. What are you going to do with a whole ton of uncoordinated Legendary Permanents? You could just cut that to a minimum and just make an efficient green deck. Thats what I am saying to do to improve your deck. Youre not running a Grip? Survival? Oracle of Mul Daya?

Yeah but thats not saying you will never encounter a situation where you are prepared to play good magic. You and your friends go to a shop one day and bring your decks and a regular is there and has a deck and wants to play a friendly game. Then you guys procede to play and he gets you guys in a Mindslaver lock or just shuts the game off. He might not even be trying to be a douche or anything but your games just became unfun.
Needless to say, telling me "don't play that deck" is not a good suggestion to improve it.
I didnt tell you not to play that deck im saying play better cards and build a more coordinated deck with a mana curve and strategy other than draw a card every turn. I can play a mono black deck and theres 2 cards or more that do the same thing your deck does without casting a spell every turn and having your general in play. You naturally wont be running Krosan Grip or spot removal so its likely my card advantage is going to last longer.
Krosan Grip: Actually my friends have all convinced me to run it, I just haven't added it yet out of laziness
Keeper: I would run it, but a chief contender in our group is an Akroma deck that would just love double (okay, more like 1.75x) the mana production, then to kill it before I untap.
Vines: I haven't put much thought into it actually! While it is good (very good in fact), it still cuts into my threat density a bit, so I am a tad wary of that.
Tooth: I used to avoid it because of monetary cost and non-cantripability, but now that I have played the deck and know how it runs, getting Patron of the Orochi and Rofellos, Llanowar emissary creates a "wrath or die" situation. I like it!
Insist - Not necessary in my meta
Rancor - So far its usefulness is weighed against monitary cost and (again) thinning of threat density... In my experience, chump blocking, while it happens, hasn't made me wish my chumped guy tramples... Its usually just a matter of waiting until I can grab a akroma's memorial. I could use some more convincing, though
Survival - As mentioned before, I still haven't bothered to lay down the money for it, though I don't doubt its usefulness.
Oracle - I never actually considered that card! I will try to find space for it.
What are some of the weaker cards? Many of them seem weak but have actually proven themselves so don't mind if I don't remove all mentioned cards
I like Vintage, then Legacy or Elder Dragon Highlander, Cube, 40 card minimum decks, Pauper, casual
What about instead of having the ante cards banned the word "ante" would become a reminder thing like "Domain-" meaning: "Exile the top card of your library face down. Your opponent may play this card as though it had flash and without paying it's mana cost." It kind of keeps the spirit.

Highly subjective doesn't begin to describe that statement. If you're just going to be talking out of your ass, then don't bother posting here.
Berserk
Desert Twister
Crash Landing
Overrun
Gaea's Anthem or some creature pumpers would be good, especially if they boost toughness for sekki,
Relic Crush
Skyshooter
Finally here's a list of all Green Destruction
