How about Avatar of Fury and Skred? Try Fault Line for mass damage. I'd take out the Top and Spitebellows. Are there any specific problems you are having in the games so far like combating lifegain, enchantments like Solitary Confinement, excessive counterspells and blue nonsense, etc.? It will make it easier to make suggestions.
well, the first idea of the deck is to have as many haste-makers as possible, so that Hidetsugu can come in and crash the party right away. I know In the Web of War is a bit pricey, but the way I see it, it's the same CMC as Hidetsugu, so I basically just wait a turn to cast him....then he gets to smack ASAP
Maybe I should think about the ol' One Man Army......
sizzle....yea, maybe....
gotta get a Fault Line.....that would be good. Also, I'd like to find a Volcanic Geyser. I prefer to run at instant speed (who doesn't?)
have to find a Sun Droplet too.....that sounds good
Hello OKnotOK, i first time write on this forum though iv read many stuff before without having account, id like to suggest some cards that i use on my mono red deck and i find em awesome, and you might like them..
Soul's Fire, awesome card, cheap, heavy damage (im using +STR instants on my deck so it is really awesome )
and my favourite War elemental, too much power :d. though my deck is totally different style :>
A pair of techy cards that I'm fond of in my Brion Stoutarm deck that would fit very well here, Acidic Soil and Shivan Gorge. Both are good at "tweaking" life totals so that you're at an odd one and your opponent is even when Hidetsugu goes critical. Watching someone lose the game to an activated Gorge is simply priceless...
Another card that I personally can't really get behind, but I'm assured is good, Hall of the Bandit Lord. Nothing like Bolting yourself for the sake of haste, but this card actually seems exceptional in this instance.
wouldnt rings of brightearth (forgive me if that name is not exactly right) work here? get 2 swings out of ur dude? Play him, use him (you have thousand year elixer out, youre like that) use rings, untap him, use him, use rings. 40/20/10/5... burn spell...
EDIT: does having a double damage doer kill the player out right? cause thats pretty sick if so
I have a list that is DRASTICALLY different from yours.
I opted for a ton of artifacts and enchantments that constantly do damage to people for just about everything they do.
I don't know, should I post it here or make a new thread?
It is way different, lol, and I play it multiple times a week with my friends, so it is tuned pretty well.

Go ahead and post your list - I'd be interested to see a different build.
Long time reader...first time poster:P Ok I've been wanting to make a Monocolored EDH to utilize extraplanar lens and gauntlet of power and I already have a huge draw deck (Niv-Mizzet) and a no color deck (Karn)... I want to build mono-nonblue so I'm leaning towards a burn deck AKA monored AKA the best choice...Hidetsugu. What baffles me... is that everyone playing their monored decks have the extraplanar lens.. the gaunlet of power.... but not the original and awesome gaunlet of might..
I seriously thing this should be an autoinclude!
Otherwise I love a lot of choices you have and it looks like a saucy deck.. I'll probably base some of my choices off yours... I'm most likely going to go for a few creature Hidetsugu/burn kill route. I do agree with some of bolas's add/cuts an I think the red elemental blast and pyroblast are fairly weak and situational choices. I'm not too sure about the creature artifact/land hate because it makes your "answers" vulnerable to removal and usually a large target. I know when my friend playing monored played the creature that x: sac destroy target x cost artifact made me cringe as I played my sol ring and gilded lotus. It's this reason that I don't think shatter effects (if you have a spot for them) are that bad. Top is a great card admittedly but in decks without much shuffling/draw it loses its effectiveness.
Since red obviously lacks card-draw (outside of wheel of fortune/fate) I think we can take a page from my Karn deck for drawing suggestions. Tower of fortunes (though mana intensive) should not be that big of a problem with lens/2xgauntlets. There's also urza's blueprints, j. tome, candles of leng, illuminated folio (not in my karn but it works here), planar portal (again costly but super awesome tutoring), minds eye (absolutely positively the SICKEST multiplayer goes-in-any-deck drawing card), memory jar (super good in a deck that can play all 7 of the cards with a bazillion mana from lens/2x gaunlet), and even temporal aperature.
I definitely like the Rings of BH in this deck but if you add more card-draw from above I would SERIOUSLY consider including them. I know some of my favorite times with Karn has been EOT activate tower of fortunes, copy with rings...draw 8.
Also some of the targeted burn seems sketchy. It may be because I've never played a Hidetsugu deck. I know that its getting both you and your opponents low and then being able to burn them to deck rox but... some of the targeted burn seems mopey. Also I know RedAkroma is a house but she doesn't have much utility to her and is actually fairly easily killable in multiplayer games in this format and I just think there could be better choices for the slot she's taking up.

Did you ever get around to this? Would like to see it.
With all the mass damage spells/effects in this decklist, it seems Stuffy Doll would fit very well. Skred as well.
"Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." - Calvin & Hobbes
Updated the list in the first post with my most recent changes. I'm testing out Reversal of Fortune - I think, if played well, this could be an incredibly fun and powerful card. I also added in Magma Phoenix, and Volcanic Fallout for a few more sweepers against weenie decks.
I'd have anger, Vedalken Orrery, and maybe winding canyons in this deck. just so he goes off before someone can pop him. he'll cost 3 more mana to play him with winding canyons, but playing him at the end of the person to your right's turn is perhaps worth it for sneaky points.
Building a Heartless EDH deck myself, and wanted to point some things out.
1) Have you considered cutting one of the lesser mana accelerators for a Gauntlet of might? Same thing as Gauntlet of Power, but its red specific and costs one less. Having both gauntlets out + the lens = Priceless.
2) Any time I'm building a red deck that has X spells for multiplayer, I toss in Mana Geyser. HUGE AMOUNTS OF MANA!
3) Not sure if you'd want to keep in Hostility, as it's tokens die to your own board wipes quite easily. I'd replace it with Hoard-Smelter Dragon, cause that gives you a big flyer and repeatable artifact destruction.
4) Koth of the Hammer may be a worthy addition if you can get your hands on one.
5) Not sure how well it'll work, cause people will kill it fast, but Platinum Emperion would be interesting with all the self damage spells and effects you have going.
6) Tunnel Ignus will shut down any land acceleration your opponents have going, and force them to spend a kill spell.
Gods, damn if I just *LOVE* this deck! I remember having built a (totally anti-Spike) Extended deck by the time of Urza's Saga whose premise was shocking you for a whopping 64 damage... and included many -if not all- of the niceties you listed here. Repercussion + Furnace of Rath was vicious... When I have some more time I'll dissect the whole thread, promise
@GreenieXIII - Thanks for your suggestions!
1) I have always wanted to add a Gauntlet of Might, just haven't picked one up yet. I think that's the last of the "mana doubling" effects available for this deck, right?
2)Mana Geyser is a one shot deal; in a deck that already has problems with card advantage, you want every card to have as lasting an impact as possible.
3)I don't just run Hostility out there as a beater; he should be played only in conjunction with a massive X damage spell to set up an alpha strike. For instance, say you had the ability to produce 18 mana; you can cast Hostility, then cast Fault Line for 10. If it's a 4 player game, the damage to your 3 opponents is prevented, but you end up with 30, 3/1 elementals with haste! You go from dealing massive damage to winning.
4)Koth would indeed be great; I just need to get one.
Since you have lots of x spells you could put basalt monolith/grim monolith + rings of brighthearth for infinite mana. The monoliths are good accelerators on their own and the rings will help your creatures and other artifacts abilities as well.
So if I were to say "you're a complete douchebag who has his head up his ass so far he's using his own eyeballs as glasses," you'd simply shrug it off?

Not sure if you want to go this route, but I used to run Manabarbs in my Hidetsugu list. Sure it makes you a target, but it adds that extra damage you need to finish sometimes. Was fun for me, but I did eventually cut it.
How on earth is Grim Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth an infinite mana combo? It costs 4 to untap and 2 to fork, for a total of 6 mana. And you get two taps for 6 mana. You just break even.
The problem with defining [EDH] by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

And yes, if you get to tap Heartless Hidetsugu with a Furnace of Rath, or Gratuitous Violence in play, he will kill anyone at an even-numbered life total immediately!

Pyrohemia and Stuffy for example is crazy fun.
Besides, Hidetsugu hates everyone equally.
