Also, Protean Hulk seems kinda nuts for free at instant speed.
Arbiter is a thought, I just am not so sure I am in love with the effect.
I have Raptor in there, I updated the first post to follow the progression of the thread. :/
Same with Tusker.
Empath I will pass on, Piper too. (Legit accel > Piper)
Hulk is banned.
Also, Reclaim seems wonderful for the deck. Recover whatever spell you need, or stick a fattie on top of the deck for Mayeal.
This deck aims to ramp moreso than stall. I haven't had much issue holding off opponents with the cards I run.
Reclaim is nice, but better than Regrowth and Restock? I feel they are competing for slots.
I'd recommend Woodfall Primus as a great 5 power or bigger creature which is removal resistant thanks to persist and a useful 187 ability.
Yes, he sure is great, but which fatty should be pulled...keeping in mind I have two other guys I need to put in there.
1 Angel of Salvation - Instant, sometimes cheaper, prevention...might cut
1 Rockcaster Platoon - Going to go, never excited to see him.
1 Balduvian Horde - Cheap, but drawback. (I like having a 5/5 for 4 in each of my colors though)
1 Wooly Thoctar - Cheap, but vanilla...bleh
So pull the Angel, Platoon, and Thoctar for Kodama of the North Tree, Red Akroma, and Woodfall Primus?
The only reason the Platoon got this far is because I didn't want to imbalance the colors...but Green and Red have more relevant fat, so out they go. The only elusive white fatty I want in here is Eternal Dragon. (White Akroma is played out...and too much of a hassle to get)
The point of the deck is not to stuff it with irrelevant 5 power guys, but to have very relevant 5 power guys flipping off the top with Mayael. Last game I played I revealed Tusker, which is ok. Next turn I revealed Verdant Force. Epic. Everyone got mad and someone wrathed.
Any ideas on the manabase/creaturebase here? (Too many 'fetches'? Too many basics? Are there better 5+ creatures I am missing?)
I don't want to run any of the hybrid 'overlords' in the deck...too played out. I also don't want to run Sundering Titan, because of my current manabase issues, and because...I don't want artifact fat.
I have to make some touches on the deck here and there.
I will post an updated list once I get more cards to work with, which will be quite soon. (I am considering adding Smite...)
Frankly, i ALWAYS want "too many" fetches. Frankly, i would probably build the manabase (to start) like so:
Jungle Shrine
Rith's Grove
Every fetch except the two U/B fetches
Stomping Grounds
Temple Garden
Sacred Foundry
Taiga
Savannah
Plateau
Vivid Crag
Vivid Meadow
Vivid Grove
I personally LOVE cycling lands, but i wouldn't run all six, I would probably run the three from onslaught.
I would also run any other dual or trilands you can find, even if its something bad like Scabland
Sure, its a fattie, but it doesn't have any nice abilities. It is just fat.
Also hard to get.
I got to edit the deck tonight. Changes are reflected above.
I finally took out a slot for my creatures...cut them to 22, so I could run Tormod's Crypt.
I am having trouble taking cards out, and am unsure of how many lands is the right amount. I don't think Strip Mine is going to make the grade here...
I also have trouble fitting Anger in. :/ I could always drop to 21 5+'s...
I have fires, Garruk, and Vol in the deck.
Sneak Attack and Aperture are great, would love them, if I had them.
Pandemonium, no thanks. that will backfire.
Call? I have three tutors already, I think I am good.
Stoutarm has a power of 4, no thanks.
I don't want Survival in here either.
I would run Collossus if I had it.

Sorry for the redudancy. I was looking through two other lists at the same time.
Most of it looks solid though and the Stoutarm idea came to me back in the days of Urza's block when some guy used a bloodshot cyclops to fling an endless worm at me ftw.
new to the forums, figured i'd start here. I just recently made a mayael deck for edh, i have a few creatures i'd recommend. Although my deck is more themed towards multiplayer, and can handle fairly well 1 on 1.
woodfall primus- fantastic fattie. removes anything slowing you down or a huge noncreature threat. anger - just saw someone recommended it, but definitely worth it. tornado elemental- fantastic card, at least i think so. Simply allows me to tell any plainswalker to GTFO. crush of wurms + where ancients tread= 15 damage anywhere you want + 3 fatties on the board. decimate fun card and generally tidies up the the board a bit windbrisk raptor Yosei, the morning star - adds some nice board control for a turn, and makes someone hesitant to swing at times especially late game. Myojin of cleansing fire - nice board wipe if you're lacking.
Thats a few for thought. But like i said me and my room mates (who are in our playgroup) generally play multiplayer most of the time as opposed to 1 on 1. I know you're looking for cheap creatures, but I feel in this format there isnt a reason to not play expensive creatures with the mutiple ways you have of bringing them out faster. Especially ones that have great trigger effects/abilities when they come in and out of play.
ex: Dramatic entrance ftw.
Up to you bud, hope this helps and i'll keep my eye on this post as i'm looking to tweak mine for some improvement, as well as ideas for my oros deck coming up.

This reminds me of the time i made a 47/47 avatar token with ajani, then proceeded to soul's fire it and fling it at 2 different people in a large multiplayer, that was hilarious.
Tooth and Nail. Holy crap, what a beating. I like Bloodfire Colossus in here as well as Hamletback Goliath. Sure, the Goliath is just fat, but he's BIG fat. Like "OH ****! Who's got the ***?!" fat. And it's REALLY fun with the Behemoth. Also, Brawn isn't too bad when you can just kill or pitch him early on, as most people tend to forget until it's relevant.
The two Elspeths are a great thesis on women in general. When you first meet one, she costs a decent amount to attract, makes you stronger and gives you the feeling that you're flying. She also goes to great lengths to protect her loved ones from harm. After a while, she gets more expensive to maintain, gives birth like a sow, becomes less loyal after doing so, and tops it all off by wrecking crap around the house. Except hers, of course.
Serra Avatar's power is zero when it's in the library so I don't know how apt it would be.
I believed they changed that rule a while back. For example, I know that Tarmogoyf and other */* type creatures gain/lose P/T in the GY. I believe that the rule was changed for all zones.

Some of the above is in my deck or doesnt fit. Tornado Elemental would be good, but noone seems to have it.

Colossus is ok, but I don't like him in here. And I don't like pointless fatties. Serious. Tooth and Nail probably can't fit in here unfortunately. Brawn is eh. Most of my guys are relevant/have trample, so its ok.

I fixed the deck to better reflect the contents.
I am going to pull Borborygmos for Eternal Dragon, should I get it, and Chrome Mox for Sol Ring. (If I magically get a Scroll Rack, Kavu Lair goes)
The changes included fixing the mana base with hybrid lands, and removing Rekindled Flame for Rout.

I did quite a bit of card editing on the deck recently, will update it later today after the EDH event.
I added Scourge of Kher Ridges, which trumps both of those guys in many ways. I liked them both and considered them both, but they aren't as good as other choices.
I popped a Defense of the Heart and grabbed Scourge and Vigor. (Disgusting...) I then cleared all boards that were not my own, dropped a Rith, and made many incrementally larger token creatures.
I like the deck as is now, will report how it does today.
First match was 2 control decks against two creature based decks.
Both decks ran Capsize. One had size and Arcane Laboratory lock set up at one point. Ugh.
I lost after a grueling two and a half hours, epic game, but I couldn't deal with recurring threats and Academy Ruins. (Made a misplay or two I'm sure...Restock is a tough card to play.)
Second match I got blown away by a Dragon Tyrant, when I should have killed it asap. Other people helped that player when I swung to kill him with a Titanic Ultimatum, and they played Evacuate for no real reason.
I am sure the Dragon player won.
I want to replace Gift of the Gargantuan and maybe Harmonize for more permanent sources of card draw. Journeyer's Kite is amazing, I have just found that even with the deck exhausted of lands, I need a mana sink to dig dig.
I replaced Harmonize and Gift with Jalum Tome and Urza's Blueprints for now. If I get Scroll Rack, I will pull one of those out.
Arbiter is a thought, I just am not so sure I am in love with the effect.

I dunno, maybe you could just try running good utility cards that really annoy people.
Avenger En-Dal seems like it would be a good answer to any reanimated threat that doesn't have shroud.
I dunno. Seems like the deck could use an extra turn or two. Dawnstrider, or Moment's Peace?
OH! Got it!
Greater Good to give you a draw engine.
Also, Reclaim seems wonderful for the deck. Recover whatever spell you need, or stick a fattie on top of the deck for Mayeal.
Currently 62/265 cards.
Machius proudly supports R_E's right to Rumour!
This deck aims to ramp moreso than stall. I haven't had much issue holding off opponents with the cards I run.

Not really ramp, but it's nice to get the nonbasic lands in the deck.
I really like this deck.

Decks:
1.x
<StRonG>UW</tRonG> No-Stick
G Tooth and Nail
Legacy:
UGB Breakfast
EDH
<StRonG>UWG</tRonG> Tokens Combo
<StRonG>W</tRonG> Beatdown at its Finest
GWR Big Beatz
<StRonG>B</tRonG> The one you hate
I would run him, probably pulling Knight of the White Orchid. I just don't own that guy atm.
I have the druid in my deck. My manabase seems fine usually, the above list is my current one. I have plenty of basics to search out.

Fires of Yavimaya or Lightning Greaves are good when you need haste.
Survival of the Fittest should be your best friend.
Temporal Aperture or Sneak Attack might be useful. I don't know if Sneak Attack is banned...
Harrow is a good mana fix. Along with Garruk Wildspeaker. You can always put in Evolution Charm
Personally, I like the idea of having Garruk, Sarkhan Vol, and Pandemonium in play.
Eladamri's Call should be included as well.
Brion Stoutarm why not?
I'm not sure what you should take out yet.
I have fires, Garruk, and Vol in the deck.
