The deck focuses heavily on removal, followed by mid-to-late game threats. The numerous and powerful Equipment spells can turn any creature into a threat, and can allow you to "Voltron" Brion for some General Damage kills. Early turns are usually spent setting up with equipment or mana acceleration. The creature stealing spells function as both damage and spot removal when Brion or another sac outlet is online.
I usually play this deck in multiplayer games, but it also works quite well in duels. Enjoy!
he's not as good as you may think in EDH. this list is tuned for multiplayer, so from that perspective, the only good ability he has is his 'lightning helix'....which isn't even that good. His 'ultimate' only hits one player (but good luck getting that off)

A Lightning Helix every 3 turns seems fine to me but whatever.
more like a lightning helix ONCE before he gets killed.....
my point is, he isn't going to live very long when there are 3+ other players looking at him thinking "i really don't want him blowing up all my lands"
if i were going to play the deck one-on-one, then i would probably add him, but i really only play group games.
I've been wondering if Balefire Liege is good enough for this deck. Mostly I like him just to buff my creatures, but the 'helix' effect could be cool too (even though i only have 2 R/W cards in the deck)
there are a few red/white x spells that you could add, can't remember them all off hand, but one is Captain's Maneuver, brightflame, and one more thats older but I can't remember what set it's from. Might be kinda nit-pickey but where is the Firemane Angel?
@ unstable - really good suggestions - it's interesting because every card you suggest (except the ones from shards) has been in this deck in the past, and has been removed for something better. let me explain a bit:
I've been tinkering with this deck for almost a year now, so I've had time to test various different cards in it. As the deck has evolved (and my local meta has evolved) I've tried to make every single card be as effective as possible on its own, independent of other cards (except Lark....that's too good with Karmic Guide to ignore). Since I play so many sweepers, I want every creature to be able to have maximum impact after I play a ***, instead of relying on another card to be good (e.g. Stalking Vengeance, Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker) Also, GY hate has been more prevalent recently, so that's why I cut Miraculous Recovery (it is really good though)
@ Dr. Awesome - ugh, I've wanted to work Flash Conscription back into the deck for a while (I took it out at some point in my tinkering....)

missed the demonfire in there, why not replace it with a "better" version, ala fireball, fanning the flames or a titan's revenge, as for the firemane, hmm... don't see too much other then one of the little dudes, but I understand balance as well, they all can't be overcosted fatties.
*edit* Mindstone huh, there are some colored choices that you could replace this with, or is it for the mid-late game sac/draw effect? Coldstone Heart or a mirage diamond would work just as well, almost better as it's colored mana.

I think I'd drop the Shivan Dragon actually. Seems kind of underwhelming as a finisher given the depth of creatures in this format (and in that colour). Shivan Hellkite seems way better, for example, and they were both printed in the same Core Set, imagine that!

I do like him better than Shivan Hellkite though....I don't usually have the mana to make the Hellkite's ability that effective (and if I do, there's usually something better I'd like to do) Hellkite is another one that's already been cut from the team

Hello. I'm slightly new to EDH and me and my playgroup recently got into EDH. We are pleased with the format and we often play during our breaktime in college. I had this deck in the works ever since and I finalized it completely.

I love Vicious Shadows, because its a classic horrible rare in constructed formats, hell you'd never even play it in limited. But it is quite simply broken in EDH. Its really such a strong card.
On the deck, its quite cliche, but adding Threaten effects works great with Brion. Everybody does it, so i understand wanting to keep away, but Threaten, Blind Into Anger, etc work great with Brion.

Blind With Anger will be an bonifide add-in, now that I saw it being Instant Speed and fetchable by Sunforger. Threaten will get in too but I'll need to find a card that needs to be axed. Thanks for the reply!

39 land - 3 artifact mana sources - 42 mana sources all together (along with land tax)
