Hello fellow EDH players. Here is the deck I really love right now, Korlash, Heir to Blackblade. This deck is designed for multiplayer, and wants to win by sweeping the board and swinging with a huge General (hence all the equipment). I choose a Snow base because of Scrying Sheets, Extraplanar Lens and Withering Wisps (which will be added once I get one). Also, some of these are new additions, so they haven't been tested much
tumultuous: Thanks for your input. I think for the most part I agree with you (in fact, some of the cards you suggested I've already arranged to get), however, Bubbling Muck has proven to be awesome, allowing for huge Drain Life effects, and extra spells in a turn ominivore: I think both Balthor and Chainer would make excellent generals in addition to Korlash
I'm not sure why Umezawa's Jitte is not included here. It is pretty nutty in any deck with creatures And serves its role well for swinging with a huge korlash. I would also include AT LEAST Sword of Fire and Ice. Light and Shadow is also quite good, but I am more partial to Fire and Ice.
I also think that Maga, Traitor to Mortals would be quite beneficial to add. When I play EDH, I try to fit at least 2/3 "back-up" generals in the deck. So basically any cards that makes a good general in your colors, and your deck's play style seems good to me. (therefor I would certainly add Balthor and Maga.
I originally thought of suggesting lake of the dead, but I think it would be a bad idea. This deck wants as many swamps, and as few none swamps as possible. Sacing them isnt going to be useful other than in dire situations.
And most the creatures in here are somewhat expensive and most likely not worth sacing to the tower.
haruhiistx: Hi :). I still like Sundering Titan. I've never had much complaints, since I usually spread its effect among all the players if I can Dr.Awesome: Maybe Snuff Out, but Death rattle is not as good I think. I would prefer Slaughter Pact or something else Mishramtg:Umezawa's Jitte might be a good choice, although I generally prefer equipment that give some immediate effect for this deck, pump, haste, trample, etc. Sword of Fire and Ice is definitely one that I am trying to get. Maga, Traitor to Mortals is a good call, kinda like a living Profane Command Gojira X: I tried Lake of the Dead in my first build, but Korlash doesn't like swamp sacrifice, and there are too few creature to make Phyrexian Tower useable. Also, in EDH I find that a short term boost is not worth the long term loss of a swamp, especially when I go for the kill with a huge consume spirit at the end of the game, I need all the land I can get. Dauthi Embrace seems like good sneaky tech, hehe. Theredviper: If you'll notice, I already run both n_pike: I might run that, right now I don't think it's necessary
Thanks for the helpful commentary everyone. I've made a small update to the list.
There is an official ban list for EDH, although it's of course up to playgroups to modify as they see fit. Most people at least start with the official list and then work from there.
For most EDH decks, 34 is the magic # in my opinion, of course it's varied on
1. The draw power of the deck
2. Mana curve
3. Mana-producing artifacts/creatures
4. Do you tutor for land? I love tutoring for Coffers.
5. How many fetches are you running.
Topdecking land late game is an issue sometimes, which is why I run the cycle lands (both the colored and 2colorless mana ones). Again, lands are great, but if you're going over 35 you may want to consider some of the aformentioned cards, and maybe a bit more draw to get through them.Ambition's Cost is one of the top-rated black cards for draw, along with Promise of Power. Necropotence and Phyrexian Arena are also always excellent.
also, with the recent changes to the official banlist, Kokusho, The Evening Star has been unbanned as one of the 99 cards for maindeck (still not as a commander, but thats understandable.).

EDH: Korlash, Heir to Blackblade Edric, Spymaster of Trest
I'd look at the following cards as well:
Cards I'd consider taking out:
Zombie Trailblazer
Filth
Funeral Charm (I get you're trying to do the whole give everyone swamps and then swampwalk thing, but I personally don't think that whole subtheme is worth it)
Sundering Titan (unless you like everyone teaming up against you)
Bubbling Muck
Helm of Kaldra
Phyrexian Totem (too dangerous in multiplayer. if you want a mana accelerant to replace this, use Coldsteel Heart, Coalition Relic, or Darksteel Ingot)
Urza's Armor (Sun Droplet = much better)
Just my $0.02. Hope it helps.
ominivore: I think both Balthor and Chainer would make excellent generals in addition to Korlash

Yes, I just put my deck list up. Balthor is great and if I ever make a BR deck, he'll go in that too.
If this deck is based on deadly general damage, how about Dauthi Embrace, Dauthi Trapper, or Traitor's Clutch for a Shadow attack?
Also, maybe Lake of the Dead or Phyrexian Tower for mana boost?
And most the creatures in here are somewhat expensive and most likely not worth sacing to the tower.

duh, my bad....
also, have you thought of Kokusho, the Eveneing Star? last i heard, the card is pretty ridiculous in multiplayer

Banned
I didn't think there was an official ban list for casual. Isn't that up to each circle to decide?
Question about the deck... isn't 40 land overboard? I see many EDH control decks with 38 being plenty.
1. The draw power of the deck
2. Mana curve
3. Mana-producing artifacts/creatures
4. Do you tutor for land? I love tutoring for Coffers.
5. How many fetches are you running.
All are important questions, but with a decent draw/tutor package, normally 34 is plenty. However, with commanders like Korlash, Heir to Blackblade and his grand daddy Dakkon Blackblade, more lands are often excellent. However, with a large abundance of lands Druidic Satchel, Walking Atlas, Terrain Generator, and Scrying Sheets get tons of mileage with the constant triggers.
Topdecking land late game is an issue sometimes, which is why I run the cycle lands (both the colored and 2colorless mana ones).
