Those seem like fine choices there. The only one change I'm not too nuts about is taking out Mana Crypt. I understand you want to dedicate it more to Multiplayer, but I've played with the deck and I love how much mana crypt puts you ahead. Maybe its just because my playgroup is really heavy on artifact acceleration though. I don't want to be the person sitting there with 3 swamps and everyone else has 7-8 woth of mana from their lands/Artifact Excel. You can't afford to be behind almost 6 turns. moreso you don't want to be the last to cast big spells. but I'm sure with playing with the new build you can decide whether or not you really need it.

With six mana artifacts (Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Mox Diamond, Grim Monolith, Extraplanar Lens, and Gauntlet of Power) I think the deck can do fine without the Crypt. I do agree that it puts you far ahead of your opponents. ImAChampion and I were talking about the Crypt several months ago and this sums up how I feel about it.
Quote from ImAChampion »
The reason why I like Mana Vault and Sol Ring over Mana Crypt is that they aren't forced. Many turns I will sit idol waiting for my opponents. For this reason...Mana Crypt just sits on the board eating my life. I have found that I often use this as discard fodder to Necropotence or even to Ambition's Cost.
I've been looking for a better verdict on the effectiveness of Grave Titan in EDH. Most black players I talk to have decided not to run him because they feel like he doesn't create enough of an impact on the game itself. Granted he is extremely efficient, is this the type of creature the archetype is looking for?
I'm interested to hear your experiences with him, cause I have not yet met a black player who has used the card.
@Tom. I see your point. If it becomes a nuisance I'll take mine out. ;p
Have you thought about running maga now that you have rings of bright? Not only would it instantly kill anyone at the table, but then you could potentially take out another individual if you had say "whispersilk Cloak on the board.
Or how bout Helm of obedience now that you have Leyline of the void. You could mill someone off the board first turn.

I love Grave Titan. He does create enough of an impact to run. Ten power and toughness for 4BB, yes please. Like I said in the primer, with Graveborn Muse he is stupid good. But to your question, is this the type of creature the archetype is looking for? I think so, he creates board/card advantage, has a built in mechanic that makes players question blocking him or attacking into him. I perfer him over Dread, and that is only because of how much this deck abuses it's life total.

Ahh, Maga, Traitor to Mortals. This is a card my playgroup talks to me about, and a card I've been thinking about for quite sometime. Another fireball effect might be good for the deck. Care to explain to me why/how Rings of Brighthearth interacts with Maga? Am I missing something?
Well it doesn't interact with Rings but I'm just saying now that you can generate infinite mana with the combination of Coffers, Temple, & the rings that having Maga for the insta kill on someone would be good. And like I said if you had whispersilk cloak or if you used Shizo, Death Storehouse It could potentially be another player down.
I know its short notice, but how has the Grave Titan been performing?

Truth on killing two players with Maga.
Grave Titan is awesome. I absolutely love this card. He draws hate, but not the hate that has everyone focusing on you. He is a big enough bomb, if he goes unchecked, he will kill people. I approve of this card.
any updates on the 1v1 version of this deck? i've been playing this deck for a while now (though i substituted some of the key cards due to their inavailability) and i've been having fun with it. hoping to get most of the cards before EDH completely booms here in our country. a lot are starting to build their decks and the more popular it gets, the harder it will be to get the cards that i need. hehe.
I think the multiplayer list does relatively well 1 vs. 1. And thats without me having to substitute more 1 vs. 1 specific cards such as quicker spot removal etc..
I kept my mana crypt in though. :pp And I would love to get my hands on a xia-hou dun. Too bad its crazey expensive for a card that only sees play in edh. :/

I haven't had a chance to work on a 1v1 list. Not enough time, nor card resources. (Also for some reason, MWS on my cpu won't update past Conflux???) Care to post your 1v1 list?

This is true, my experiences with this deck, when playing it 1v1 it seems to work well, except when Gaddock Teeg rears it's ugly head (which is something I need to add to the deck, an answer for Captain Restriction)
On Xiahou-Dun, the One-Eyed's cost, all I have to say is Portal Three Kingdoms. Which is a set I actually like alot.
i'll post my list when i get home but just to let you know, the list that i'm running is way suboptimal to the one that you have since i lack a lot of key cards. it's still running good though. you may want to consider maga since you have a lot of mana available and strands of night to recur creatures from the yard (double that with rings of brighthearth).
On Xiahou-Dun, the One-Eyed's cost, all I have to say is Portal Three Kingdoms. Which is a set I actually like alot.
I found one in a dollar bin. Whenever I find myself in a pawn shop...I always ask if they have any collectible cards. You will be surprised what you can find.
I know its short notice, but how has the Grave Titan been performing?
He is fantastic. 3 for 1's are nice. Possible 5 for 1's are even better. Grave Titan makes Graveborn Muse cackle with glee. Seriously though...thats a lot of card draw. My personal favorite is to hand the titan a Whispersilk Cloak and watch your army build.
On a side note...I was playing a game the other day when the following happened.
It was just me and him left in the 8 player game. The guy was playing Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed and had a ridiculous amount of mana. He cast Temporal Extortion which I promptly paid the life for...because when someone has this much mana and a grip full of cards...you don't give them another turn. So he cast Wound Reflection. My jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe I lost to a "False Cure" type combo. While I don't suggest either of these cards for this deck...it was rather amusing.
If you're looking to replace Leyline, but be able to interact with the Ascension, why not just go with Planar Void?
Normally it's worse, but you're not running Obeyline, so it should be fine. It's also cheaper!
EDIT: Also, WOW, Xiahou Dun really has skyrocketed in price... I picked up mine for $25. It's english too!

I just don't know if Planar Void is needed. This all goes back to Politics. Sometimes it is best to save your resources and to allow someone else to get their hands dirty. This is typically the case when it comes to graveyard based decks. They are usually like firecrackers. Its a loud bang...but the damage is minimal. Typically they don't have the resources to take out an 8 player game...but they can take a few people with them. Why not use this to your advantage. Use your resources to keep them in check and let them knock out some of the other people at the table that you might have a hard time with. Withered Wretch does a good job at keeping them at bay. Let it be known that if he dies...so does "your" graveyard. This can help you to control a threat at the table. For this reason I prefer not to play blanket hate cards like Planar Void
EDIT: Also, WOW, Xiahou Dun really has skyrocketed in price... I picked up mine for $25. It's english too!
Typically the cards that are expensive from P3K are just another form of an already exsisting card. Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed is unlike almost any other card in Magic. The fact that he is actually really good only makes his price go up. I think that he will wind up being a very good investment for you if you only paid $25.
Since this is your 5th graveyard hate slot (Bojuka Bog/Nezumi Graverobber/Ravenous Trap/Suffer the Past) I'd make sure to stick with something that is useful even when you are not trying to hate on someone's graveyard. Shred Memory or Puppeteer Clique would fill that role nicely I think.

Assuming that you are talking about replacing his suggested Withered Wretch...Puppeteer Clique wouldn't be a bad way to go. Personally I like Withered Wretch because of his ability to non-discriminantly pillage graveyards and because he is a Zombie so he gives a bonus to Graveborn Muse.
The thing that I like most about this deck is that it is extremely redundant and stuffed with synergies. For example. Withered Wretch fills several vital rolls to this deck. 1) He is a cheap creature to prevent Cruel Edict and friends from killing our main demon. 2) He is cheap reusable graveyard hate. 3) He is a Zombie which can help boost our card drawing. All around this guy helps to define the goal of this deck...Synergy.
Just for kicks and an update...here is the decklist that I am using.

Both generate different types of card advantage, but Scroll Rack's card advantage is much better, and not situational. This once again is because I don't own a Scroll Rack. I just bought a Chinese one for $16. I'd probably cut something else other than It That Betrays from the deck for it though, probably Night's Whisper
Rings is way amazing in this deck, and I feel this deck has enough mana fetch cards available to it.
Looking at the Scars of Mirrodin spoilers, Steel Hellkite looks amazing for alot of EDH decks. But it is another answer to those darn artifacts and enchantments mono-black can't handle well.
Also from the spoilers, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon seems awesome and like it could be a quick kill if it gets in there. Wanted to get other opinions on this thing, before making a choice.

It looks awesome, no doubt. I'm probably going to have to purchase a foil one just to own it, but I don't know if it actually belongs in the deck. I'm always looking for good beaters, but it seems like this one just isn't as scary as the others (and when I say scary, I mean it'll end the game in 1 swing). Sure it could possibly end the game in 2 swings if you equip it with something, so in the end you're gonna have to weigh out your other threats with this one. It reminds me a lot of Grave Titan, where he's really powerful and cost efficient, but he doesn't end the game or have immediate board impact. Instead, I prefer shades so that all of our accelerated mana doesn't go to waste (I see Drana was omitted from your list - I'd run her way before I'd run Skithiryx). Our deck philosophies are a bit different and my deck usually wins via combo while yours probably requires the aid of beats and drains, so take what you will!
i agree with the steel hellkite.. that creature will help the deck a lot especially when it comes to removing non-creature, non-land permanents.. i don't like the blight dragon though.. seems too slow.. would have been better if its power was pumpable..

I am still not sure about Rings of Brighthearth. I see all its applications...however...I just don't like how it plays. It is clunky to me. I will toy with it more and see if I change my mind but...as of now I don't think it makes my list.

Yes he looks fantastic. I think that he will take the place of Oblivion Stone in my list.

He seems out of place. Since when has this deck wanted a beater?
Our deck philosophies are a bit different and my deck usually wins via combo while yours probably requires the aid of beats and drains, so take what you will!
I was going to say that I agree here...but actually I don't. This all stems back to Rings of Brighthearth. This card belongs in a combo version of this deck. However..."Drains" greatly benefit from Rings of Brighthearth. Typically I win from a slow methodical game plan ending in complete and utter dominance.

I do use the aid of beats and drains to win, but I do also combo, or as ImAChampion said, from a slow methodical game plan ending in complete and utter dominance.
This sentence above is a huge reason I love this deck, it can win several different ways.
Yeah, seeing your words on Skithiryx, I agree. Funny you mention, Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. I just put her into the deck, because of a couple players in my playgroup either running or relying on Gaddock Teeg. Out - It That Betrays, In - Drana
Yes Steel Hellkite looks fantastic. I think that he will take the place of Oblivion Stone in my list.

I think I am going to cut Sign in Blood, once Steel Hellkite drops. The deck has plenty of card draw (Arena, Potence, Muse, Craving, Cost, Rack, Decree) and I know SIB can kill a player, but more answers for artifacts and enchantments are welcome.
Keep trying Rings, I personally love it, but am open to hearing reasons as to why it shouldn't be in the deck.
How do all of you feel about Geth, Lord of the Vault? Seems good, also can fuel Graveborn Muse...
i think i'll make a space for geth, lord of the vault as well especially when most of the players i play with keep recurring cards from the yard.. i've been using rings of brighthearth since i built the deck and its been doing great for me especially when i've got the extra mana.. it does crazy things and can make ob nixilis huge faster.. =)
How do all of you feel about Geth, Lord of the Vault? Seems good, also can fuel Graveborn Muse...
Now he is a beater that I can get behind for this deck. You can almost Mindslaver lock someone with their own Mindslaver. This guy makes me very happy. His creature type could be Man Bear Pig and he would fit this deck. The fact that he bumps Graveborn Muse is just an insult to injury for everyone else in the game.

Helm of Obedience + Leyline of the Void is dumb lol. I personally don't like it, but could see people playing this combo. Legit hillarious if you Helm w/o Leyline out and get Phage the Untouchable. Funny story, my buddy hits a Telemin Performance on another player. Very first card, Phage. D'oh!

Agreed with the statements for Withered Wretch, he is back in over Leyline of the Void.
Looking at your deck list and mine, I'm going to compare differences.
Tom Servo: Snow-Covered Swamp, ImAChampion: Mystifying Maze
I agree with this change, another Maze ability would be good for the deck.
Tom Servo: Night's Whisper, ImAChampion: Imperial Seal
I don't own an Imperial Seal :(, but if I did this change would be in the deck as well.
Tom Servo: It That Betrays, ImAChampion: Scroll Rack
Both generate different types of card advantage, but Scroll Rack's card advantage is much better, and not situational.
This once again is because I don't own a Scroll Rack.I just bought a Chinese one for $16. I'd probably cut something else other than It That Betrays from the deck for it though, probably Night's WhisperTom Servo: Loxodon Warhammer, ImAChampion: Umezawa's Jitte
This is simply a preference thing. I love the fact Warhammer gives a creature trample. Jitte is also amazing. Lifegain, pump, sudo-removal.
Tom Servo: Rings of Brighthearth, ImAChampion: Terramorphic Expanse
Rings is way amazing in this deck, and I feel this deck has enough mana fetch cards available to it.

Agreed...but then he would be Red.
[EDH] Ob Nixilis the Fallen
I do use the aid of beats and drains to win, but I do also combo, or as ImAChampion said, from a slow methodical game plan ending in complete and utter dominance.
This sentence above is a huge reason I love this deck, it can win several different ways.
Yeah, seeing your words on Skithiryx, I agree. Funny you mention, Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief. I just put her into the deck, because of a couple players in my playgroup either running or relying on Gaddock Teeg. Out - It That Betrays, In - Drana
[EDH] Ob Nixilis the Fallen
Holy crap!!! Mindslaver lock someone with their own Mindslaver??? Too good!
Here comes the ever lasting problem in EDH, what to cut?
