Had an awesome win last night. I played Servitude to clean my grave, so I had Mikaeus and Blood artist out and like 20 other creatures. Opponent didn't see the blood artist, I forgot it too. He plays chain reaction so almost everything comes back with undying. Than he play oblivion stone. And i wanted to scoop untill someon else noticed the Blood artist. 5 player game that lasted 2,5 hours with apoximitly 20 board wipes.
that feeling you got when you noticed the Blood Artist. That's what i live for. mustve been great. i have had moments like that and cater the deck for those kind of things. did you guys let the BA triggers resolve that were forgotten? who ended up winning?
On a side note, I use Vampire Nighthawk instead of hypnotist, and he is really good. Double recursion target (lar/titan), and cathar's crusade just breaks him. Plus he can kill fatties.

lifelink is something more this deck needs. maybe like batterskull (germ token:)) or something. thats pretty sweet though a 20/23 NIghthawk
I won, cause it was after the O. stone that someone pointed it out. It felt great battling for 2,5 hours and winning after a confused board state ^^
ohh i see the hours already passed by. that makes sense im going to post that in gameplays if you dont mind. its a good indication of how this deck or anything similar plays out
Sadly in my meta if someone uses bribery, which is one of the biggest duck face cards, they also use acquire. Or even acquire sooner cause of the budget. But the germ token and flying spirits it could do wonders.
I use the old ghost council since it can survive wipes and is a sac engine, though way slower offcourse.

Are there any great extort cards for teysa?
I run, blind obedience, basilica screecher, syndic of tythes, and thrull parasite, never sad to see any of them

Extort seems really abusive in edh. Im trying out an extort list on mtgo
-on another note i log onto mtgsalvations this morning and there is like 3000 Threads on people building Teysa decks. makes me proud. mustve been the cleavage or something. anyway i hope my thread helps those people out

I've seen that too. Kinda makes me want to post my thread too. I prefer keeping my decks on TappedOut, as I am too lazy to write a whole thread on the deck. Any tips on how to make a good looking thread? The forum interface is kinda forbidding, if you get my jist.

yeah i def know lol. it helps a little if you practiced in HTML before but you can drag the corner to make the box look bigger. and once you learn all the codes it becomes somewhat easy. just need to motivate yourself . what i did was do a little bit at a time and copy paste it to a notepad and paste it back when i was ready to start it again. if you have Notepad++ you can use BB code on that instead of having to come to the forums all the time but i liked previewing my way through.
but im still working out kinks like trying to fit it for standard resolution screens

Have any of you tried Skirsdag High Priest? Seems easy enough to trigger the morbid, and he's a very small dude that makes some crazy token easily.
Yea, I was wondering how does Extort perform in EDH. Please report your experience with it
Skirsdag High Priest looks interesting.
On the meantime I'm toying with a Shadowborn Apostole deck with Teysa on the helm.
Hello and thanks for visiting. In my experience I tried extort for a couple weeks the problem I found was that A. I wasn't casting a lot of spells and B. There are few actual good cards with extort. But I can see if you built a deck around abusing it then it can be bonkers. Just run all the extort cards and play memnites and cloustone curio. I think it can work

I find extort more like a gimmicky lifegain, as I only run Blind Obedience, and in my stax list at that (which I don't whip out often). It puts a target on your head, but in the end, what doesn't? I'm more against offensive generals, so the lifegain doesn't matter much. It's useful to fuel Phyrexian Reclamation, I'll give it that (but then so is Kokusho). I find myself in many cases with unused mana which I funnel in extort, but sometimes that 1 mana is useful to keep your Ghost Council of Orzhova alive and such.
And I tried Skirsdag... Man this guy is really impressive given the right circumstances, especially with Pawn of Ulamog (makes self sacrificing dudes at that) or the new Rat lord. You essentially replace one of your tokens with a 5/5 flying dude (plus the demon token is really awesome). And I find the art amazing.
You might want to wait for dragons maze and see if there are any new extort cards coming
^ This. Ive been a huge fan of Teysa for awhile. She was my first "serious" edh deck. Shes undergone many changes and playing her as a combo (non-auto-win) deck has been my favorite. After dragons maze ill be doing a rework and what youve got here is a good model ill be looking at as i build.
Until then, and this may not be something I stick with, ive found the control angle to be very relevant. Withering Boon, Imp's Mischief, Lapse of Certainty are the three Ive had a lot of fun with. No one expects it from B/W. It buys time and saves the day nearly every time I have them in hand.

yeah hopefully there will be a lot of goodies in dragon maze.
thats a very interesting position lol i can see how that can throw people off. very nice.
Also, if you play on the casual side, Cathar's Crusade and Army of the Damned is crazy fun to cast together. Just happened to me yesterday, playing against a token-heavy deck of a friend of mine.
OMG im such a clutz i reread Ogre Slumlord and didnt realize its when ANY creature, not just my own dies. Holy crap how many games i couldve turned around
Yeah, my friend uses it in combination with Warstorm Surge to kill every creature on the board in his Rakdos deck (which I really hate). Shame there's nothing like in in B/W...
Also, how is Hell's Caretaker working? I swapped him for skirsdag high priest and I really don't regret it, he was too klunky for me or I hadn't any targets in my graveyard for his ability, thanks to the already awesome recursion of the deck.
Speaking about rakdos, my friend uses a lots of Pyrohemia, Pestilence, Volcanic Fallout type cards. When you don't have a pump effect in play (I think you only have Cathar's crusade and anthem), how do you survive these cards? He is usually faster than me developping a board and punishes me instead for getting rid of creatures :S

pestilence type effects arent really "of the plentiful" i dont even think people even know about its red twin Pyrohemia in my meta lol. if there trying to wipe out our small dudes with reusable effects i usually try to set my board up to make it hurt. like having Kokushko out or Blood artist. almost always try to have a sac outlet . i recently took out Darksteel Plate before i made the primer to protect Blood Artist in those events. ( i am using it for another deck). i would consider using plate in a heartbeat if i had 2.Now if im playing against wipethefield.dek then ill just try to use combo. (if its really that bad but usually in Xplayer someone balances it out eventually) i have also come to love Balance type effects too. like Balancing Act stops ramp decks from being broken and brings all those unfair-typical edh decks down to "my level" im going to update the primer soon with a slew of new cards people might want to play.
havent been drawing hells caretaker a lot really. but something about bringing them back straight to the field just makes it feel worth it. idk maybe im mystified because i have a Legends one but the few times i actually drew it it has been awesome ( looking at you Sun Titan and Sengir Autocrat)
i havent tried the highpriest out at all. im just turned off by his ability that is more needy then my wife ( honey i love you) but if i come across one in a trade binder i think it might warrant play.
Also need to remind myself to pick up a Belfry Spirit .thing is LEAUGES better then Cloudgoat Ranger
How so? I don't like how it exiles, so you can't combo with Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar...
good Question ! i might just post this on the Q and A Section too
well my original intention with CGR wasnt to abuse it with the deathmantle but to simply generate tokens with it but Belfry spirit does work with NDM.The Haunt rulings allow the creature to be brought back with Deathmantle in response to the Haunt ( its a triggered ability which says when the creature dies). the other part is. even though im initially getting one less token. i am getting 2 BLACK tokens which to Teysa really means 4 tokens lol. oh also it dies to skullclamp by itself. Better of course i can try to run both i just kinda hate the way CGR looks.
official ruling for extra clarification: (cuz im bad at explaining rules)
"If a card with haunt is removed from the graveyard in response to its haunt ability triggering, the haunt ability will resolve. But since the card can't be removed from the game, it won't haunt the target creature"

Yep. Ashnod's Altar, Nim Deathmantle and Grave Titan (or any other dude that brings dudes) work wonders with crusade lol.
Batterskull's cool because it cannot be briberied, which is a card that is really played in my meta. Yet no one uses Acquire...
Blind Obedience is the best, and by far.

Finally got one of my combos online today! Dark Depths + Vampire Hexmage is just so unfair.
