Jeering instigator doesn't work because of the your turn clause. Which is too bad otherwise it'd be great. The thief sub theme works well when it has the versatility of being used as instant speed removal but usually isn't good enough otherwise. Treacherous urge on the other hand has been an all star as of late in my games
I took my Marchesa deck for it's first spin today 1v1. And boy, is Flayer of the Hatebound just sick in this deck. Sac him when he doesn't have a counter, bounces back immediately with +1/+1 from the Undying, deal 5 damage. Sac again with Marchesa out, pops back with no counters at EOT to deal 4 more damage. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I'm not sure I understand the inclusion of Liliana of the Veil. She is a solid card but I don't see the synergy and in multiplayer won't she just easily draw too much hate?
It seems like there could be something else in her slot, but if you could elaborate on her inclusion please.
Honestly Im just testing her and jace for a bit. In the end i will find something for the slots if they underperform. Having a wall of resilient dudes makes them easy to ultimate, and they are both at least removal
I'm very excited for impersonator. Nightblade actually seems awesome on paper, it fits all our tutor criteria, and makes our board scarier and way harder to profit in combat. Instigator is absolutely terrible

Awesome stuff! I played a few games tonight, and I'll say this: Gray Merchant is profoundly better than whip of erebos. Make the switch and dont look back. I ended up draining the table to death twice in a row from almost full and from all the way full tonight. Necroplasm deals with tokens like no other as well. Saved my hide against oodles of tokens all game long vs heavy GW tokens.

I hear ya. I run Grave Pact like effects in my build because it turns the sacrifice outlets into free removal. Grave Betrayal pairs really well with those kind of cards. If I wasn't running the Grave Pact effects in the deck Grave Betrayal would get cut. I've looked at full boards, dictate or grave pact out, and just wrecked games by tapping out to play grave betrayal. Even if it gets removed the next turn I already stole as many creatures from players as I had sacs available. Pretty powerful under the right circumstances.
The whole deck curve is low enough that it supports it well as a end game bomb.
I have lots of Sigarda, Host of Herons(in the 99) and krosan grips in my meta. It's one of the reasons I stopped running those effects. I usually try to make sure green and blue players are tapped out when I cast sneak attack too, with at least 3 red left over to get max use out of it cause of everyone throwing grips around.

Game 3
Realized I need more artifact and grave hate. Played against a pretty tuned combo kurkesh deck. Got him down to 2 life, but could not keep a creature on board to seal the victory. Died to hextuple goblin charbelcher activations. Bauble abuse gave him access to tons of cards throughout the game, I just couldn't keep up.

Saturday I played a great couple of games, Gray Merchant of Asphodel is absolutely amazing in the deck. I ended up draining each opponent in one game for 26, bringing me from close to dead to right back in the game. I won a few turns later with a huge swing thanks to marton and sakashima copy of marton. Giving your dudes like +30/+30 feels sick in a deck with no craterhoof.

I play Moltensteel Dragon on t3. On t4, paid 10 life and to give it +6/+0 and attacked, and then used Disciple of Bolas for massive life and draw, and discarded good creatures for a t5 Living Death. Of course, I was lucky to get Urabrask the Hidden and Grave Titan, and I win that turn. For 1v1, Moltensteel Dragon was a good addition to me, and for multiplayer can be an option.
In another game, Grim Haruspex can accelerate us very fast. My friend killed Marchesa, and then needed to wipe the table or he dies next turn, and I draw a total of 8 cards. I didn't expected that Grim Haruspex could be good enough, but after this, I understood very well.
Oh man moltensteel dragon seems awesome, maybe I can find a spot for it. Grim Haruspex is going in as soon as I get one, that card should be bonkers in this deck. As far as primer status goes, the committee is looking it over and will let me know if it's up to par or not within a week or so, so stayed tuned!

Some really great ideas in this thread, I built a Marchesa Commander deck as soon as she was spoiled, wished her art was different but hey, I still like smashing face.
Just wanted to know if any of you have had great success with either Greater Gargadon or Chasm Skulker.
Gargadon seem like a great sac outlet for cheap and a beefy critter afterwards. The squid seems rediculous with all the card draw via Grim Horuspex/Diciple of Bolas/Mulldrifter/River Kelpie.
Some thigns i run that I am not sure if they have been mentioned: Thalakos Deceiver Second copy of a Sower to keep smashing face Thada Adel, Acquisitor Free Sol Rings Agent of Erebos : recurrable GY hate, in my meta its always nice to tutor up against Mimeoplasm/Karador Annul Great against Gods/annoying enchantments, crawlspace ect. Kiora's Dismissal: Propaganda style effects wreck me in a multiplayer game, most people hide behind confident Grixis cant do anything about it. Then they die.

Greater Gargadon seems fun, but I do like to squeeze every ounce of value out of my slots, and I don't think gargadon would make the cut. It seems really good for budget version though. Chasm Skulker has been decent in my testing, giving more bodies to block, swing, or make an alpha swing with marton that much more painful. Thalakos Deceiver seems like a really decent creature in the deck, I would run it if I wanted another type of this effect in the deck of course. Sower has been more than an all star. Thada Adel, Acquisitor doesn't seem like a bad fit for the deck, but she might be hard to get through at times without blue players in the game. I'd pass on this one personally. Agent of Erebos has been needing a slot in the deck for awhile, I'm just not sure what to cut yet. Seems great before a Living Death. Annul and Kiora's Dismissal are not needed at all. Run an aura thief an rejoice in all the blow-outs you get.

The original version of this deck ran jokulhaups. What happened is I literally got bored of winning with it. It was incredibly strong and not fun. Bearer of the Heavens and Obliterate are very expensive for their effects as well. Wildfire and Destructive Force are pretty bad in the deck. This deck likes its lands on the field, unless you are the only one with creatures on the field left afterwords. Since our dudes are small for the most part as well, we would not be able to profitably do it if someone has some big dudes on the field.
The best board wipe for the deck is by far Living Death. I can't think of a non-combo deck that that card is more busted in than this one.

Clever Impersonator are perfect for Marchesa.
Not sure if Retribution of the Ancients can be useful. I think in theory it does well, but in practice it is weak, like the OP said about Feast on the Fallen.
I like Mer-Ek Nightblade, giving a good board presence to attack or defend. And can be tutored by both cards I said before.
Jeering Instigator can be great for who runs a more thief sub-theme.

Dropped it in off Sneak Attack to copy opponent's Captain Sisay, searched up Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, which tapped to create a copy of Scourge of the Throne I dropped in off Sneak Attack. Two attack steps later there was nothing left but a smoking crater.
