That it is, however I almost exclusively play multi-player, aside from maaaaybe some one on one games with our decks as is against my boyfriend, but that'should fairly rare.
Next 2 Games and Jarad was a dead card on the hand (or in the game). We wont get friends anytime near.
So I think of cutting him again. What do you think of Aetherworks Marvel?? Could be awesome
I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's a really cool card, but it seems like it only does well when you're already ahead of the game and doing well.

Agreed. The whole "permanents into graveyard" is typically a trap with Meren in any case, and this is no different. While the ability to dig and find a card to cast for free can be backbreaking if RNGJesus shines on you, I'd rather run more card draw or tutors in its place. Tutors specifically, since we have so many good ones in green and black, and they can find us exactly what we want, as opposed to just a random card off the top half dozen.
But it is a fun, Timmy-esque card. I'd want one for a more casual deck that isnt Meren.
So, Considering Eliminate the Competition for when I need a kind of selective board wipe type effect. So far it's playing the way I want it too.
Thought's about it?

I think that unless the deck is super casual, you can be doing better things on turn 5, like tutoring your wincon with Sidisi, or saccing Gary.

Agreed, or running Attrition. Being sorcery speed really kills the card. It would be more playable if it was Instant speed, but the CMC is also pretty terrible. Also, why not just Toxic Deluge the board if you need to kill that many creatures? Or sac your own under Grave Pact? It just seems very budget friendly for that purpose, which again is fair. Deluge, Attrition, and Grave Pact are nearly $6-10 each.
I actually do run both Attrition and Grave Pact. Given that there are other people in our meta playing Meren decks and the like, Attrition and Gravepact aren't always the best way to remove threats. It's played well for me when I've pulled it so far, at least.
Since I can't look over so many pages, what's the general consensus about flip Liliana? I just pulled one and I was wondering if anyone tried her.
I have previously and was unimpressed, due to the fact, much like Meren, she needs a board to be successful. IE, she's winmore. And being winmore, isn't necessarily powerful enough to continue that snowballing. Her best use is returning Fleshbags/Mindslicers to play, since it's incredibly unlikely you'll hit her emblem, and if you do, then you've already won.
I still want to continue testing her as her ability to return Fleshbags/Mindslicers is pretty strong.
I run flip Liliana in a Chainer deck, but it's mostly for the discard effect and my build is far from competitive. I did get her emblem once in a game against a Meren deck and another graveyard deck but it was indeed win-more because I was already in a solid, dominant position. The emblem just put a 100% guarantee stamp on it.
There are other discard effects I could replace it with, and in gromgrom's Meren build there are already 2 Liliana planeswalkers. A third could get you into some "dead card" situations.

I dont have any Lilli's in my build, do you mean the OP?
Thanks for quoting my post and for your experiences with it. I LOVE flip Liliana and wish I could utilize her in a real way in EDH. She has such cool effects and it reminds me of Daretti, but for creatures.
Just to continue the comments on flip Liliana: I love her as a card. I actually have a foil copy sitting in a sleeve with my tokens box, should I ever actually find a use for her. Unfortunately, she was extremely underwhelming when I ran her in this deck previously. It's just a lot of work to get her effect off for not a huge payoff, given how fragile planeswalkers tend to be.
EDIT: I almost forgot to mention, but I've had a bit of difficulty obtaining the AER cards I want for my decks, but I was looking at Treasure Keeper as a potential addition.
Card seems pretty good, I hope you don't mind if I link my own Meren list here. I used yours as a base and edited for my specific playgroup. Basically removed a few things and I think made it a little more friendly to a more casual environment, seeing as you can play meren and a pile of creatures and still do things

I've been playtesting with Treasure Keeper recently and he does some amazing work in my deck. I have a very large amount of cmc 3 or less, so he really works well for me.
I've also been trying to find a home for flip Lili ever since she came out. Have yet to figure her out. Every deck I try her in she just under performs, and when I tried to build an entire deck with her as the commander it just never did anything...
This is my first time posting on this site and I just want to say that I really enjoy all the feedback and input. Two cards that I run that I've noticed don't get a lot of attention yet I find them to be quite good are Apprentice Necromancer and Helm of Possession. Apprentice necromancer ramps experience counters like crazy but also allows for instant speed graveyard plays throughout the game which can be critical. Helm of Possession is a fantastic utility card. It is extremely underplayed but very good.
One card I have a question about is Shaman of forgotten ways. Does anyone have any experience with this card? I see it as primarily a ramp card with the added bonus of potentially being a late game win condition. Do you guys think it actually deserves a spot in the list?
I'm not sure what to think. I run a pretty low curve Meren. I basically see this as a 5cmc reanimation spell? The real question is if this will generate enough hate that it gets targeted right away. I'm not sure that's worth it considering you could just run animate dead, or necromancy, dread return.. or the myriad of other cheaper spells
I could be wrong but I don't see this as having a big impact in Meren

I'm not a huge fan of it. It's expensive for not a huge amount of benefit. I think I'd rather leave that spot to another ETB effect.
I've noticed that smothering abomination is a popular card for Meren. There are a lot of cards that fit in the 4 drop and I'm not sure this is good enough. Does this card actually provide enough value to warrant a spot. Also I'm concerned that the force sacrifice could become a problem.
What are peoples experiences with this card?
What are peoples thoughts on Maulfist Revolutionary? It doubles any counters on a player or creatures.
It's already pretty easy to hit exp counters in Meren and after 7-9, you really dont need too much more. Paying 3 for a 3/3 that nets you a counter is pretty lackluster if it doesnt do anything else or synergize with anything else in your deck. I'd play it if you're after a stax route with smokestacks, tangle wire, planeswalkers maybe, etc.

It doubles the experience counters you have, it's not just the one counter. It's not terrible stats either 3/3 Trample for 3 without the etb trigger. I guess the stax route would be the better angle if including Maulfist.
It doesnt double anything. You add another. However it does do this on etb or dying. You could just play better creatures, or creatures/enchantments with "on sacrifice" effects that will net you counters and also do something else at the same time. (Spore Frog, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Diligent Farmhand, Awakening Zone, etc) But you're right, with other permanents with counters, it becomes alot better. Thallids too!
Here is my deck list. I perfer not to run a dedicated combo finisher. I'm looking mostly to win through incremental value over the course of the game.
What do you guys think of this? any suggestions?
I'm considering Yahenni, undying partisan as another sac outlet plus he makes wraths/combat awkward for opponents. Does anyone have any experience with him?
Has anyone tried out Shadowborn Demon? If so, how did you find it? It seems decent from a purely theorycrafting position; removal and a sac engine on an evasive 5/6 body that can be recurred with Meren when needed.
He's interested, certainly. I'd put him in a similar line to Shriekmaw, depending on your wants. He can provide a sac outlet and less restrictive removal, whereas Shriekmaw evokes, and is generally cheaper but more restrictive.
I really like him, I want a copy, I am moderately worried that he will get banned within a set or two, so unless he's cheap or I pull one, I may not add him right away.
The big two additions are Protean Hulk (as it was unbanned) and Razaketh, whom I managed to pick a copy up of pretty quickly. Overall I've kind of been on the fence about Pawn/Aven, so I cut them for our new demon overlord and friend. It also helps smooth out the choices for the top end of my birthing pod chain as well.
The biggest removals are Mana Crypt and Bayou. I ended up needing to commandeer them for my Saskia deck, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to replace both in the future, but with the cost of the cards right now, I have to pick and choose where things go.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's a really cool card, but it seems like it only does well when you're already ahead of the game and doing well.

Have you made any consideration to adding Liliana, Heretical Healer to the deck? Seems like she slots nicely into Meren
