Strangely, mine doesn't draw hate - Bruna kind of has the opposite effect. People are like 'Í would remove Bruna, but I wanna see her meld, so kill Llanowar Elves instead'. It only happens the once, but yeah it's a funny thing. I think maybe people feel sorry for you running mono white too. That only happens once, too - most games I have more land on board than anyone else at the table these days.
I could definitely see Ghirapur Orrery putting in work in a spellshaper build. Totally get the pitching lands thing, too - it's something I do in my Varina build - pitch them when not needed then turn spare mana into bodies at instant speed. And in my Dralnu build, but Paradox Engine is a hell of a thing so that's an outside case.
Not sure if Bruna would fit into your list - her reanimation is pretty specific, but then I haven't seen your list. She's a lot of fun, to be honest. One of my favourite builds I currently have together. With her and Emeria Shepherd on board I can just keep coming back. The deck just does not die
For sure. She’s decent defense with her big ass, can still swing with vigilance and the reanimating is a cast trigger, so you still get it whether she resolves or not. Definitely worth seeing if you can find her a space.
Ascendant is a no brainer here, it was just a case of tracking a copy down. Trying out Guardian at the suggestion of ISBPathfinder, who seems to have got good value from it. The two removals sort of make sense as corner cases; I'll keep an eye on this though, if I'm lacking for sweepers I may bring Reckoning back in.
Tithe has been awesome, in terms of providing sheer mana growth. That being said, a lot of the time casting it I'd have preferred to have more draw coming through, and the mana has been surplus to requirement without things to cast. So, I'm going to try splitting hairs and get the best of both worlds. I can recur the Archive with Emeria Shepherd, so it's not always going to a one time affair.
In related news, there really hasn't been much I'm super keen to try out here from WAR: the two removal spells are great - War on Ravnica and Single Combat both do different things. Of the two, I prefer Single Combat for being somewhat of a control piece and picking up more things. War won't hit rocks, Eldrazi, or mono coloured permanents, so there's always going to be a limit on what it will remove.
Parhelion II, though....this could be pretty cool. It punches above it's weight for P/T to CMC ratio, has some cool features, and could be a lot of fun. I'd like to give it a shot here.
Angel of Glory's Rise > Parhelion II - The Angel was fairly conditional. It's done ok, but is more or less a corner case. I'm not sure how well the vehicle will work out, but it's the sort of beater I'm keen to give a go. It could be pretty great.
Have tossed up Gideon's Sacrifice too. It's a saviour card, but I'm not fully convinced. It covers a lot, but doesn't cover loss of life. Which is fine in itself, I'm just not 100% sure it has a space here or not.
Just seeing if you have any feedback on your above changes and if they have or have not worked out. Several of the changes you made seemed to reflect some of what I was running so I was just curious to see if any of it had or had not worked thus far.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I haven’t really had much of a chance to play test recently to be honest. I’m excited to see how the flying angel machine works, but I guess I’ve been busy bringing other decks up to snuff (Varina, mostly). Partly that’s a reflection of being pretty happy in general with how Bruna is running, but I also try to scale to the table I’m playing against and Bruna hasn’t quite been a decent fit of late. I’ve definitely been meaning to put her through her paces, so I’ll try and do that in the next few days. I’ve also got a couple things to pick up from my LGS, one of which is an Archangel of Thune to drop in here, so I’ve sort of been waiting to make that change.
Have you made any post-WAR changes? There wasn’t a lot for us there in all fairness, but there were a couple of cool toys.

No I haven't really touched WAR yet but I think Ugin, the Ineffable and Topple the Statue probably could both be tested at least. Unfortunately those are not angel / humans so I have kind of put it to a lower priority to do so in favor of some new decks.

So, quick playtest feedback, Bruna is doing real good. Just smashed a table with Jodah superfriends, Linvala 1.0 and Kaalia, and did it without even batting an eyelid. The resilience of this deck makes it sooo good.
I didn't really get a chance to playtest Parhelion II, although it came into play on the very last turn off the back of an Emeria Shepherd landfall trigger. Essentially I outvalued everyone early with Resplendent Angel and Sword of the Animist, outramped them and started swinging with fat flyers. Faced down a couple of board wipes, and I think the board just gave up trying to keep me down after a while, as it was more detrimental to them than I. After a few turns I had Sword, Emeria Shepherd and True Conviction in play, which was real nice. Sword and Shepherd - it's the best synergy in the deck, imo.
Thoughts on somewhat recent adds though - Sun Titan is obviously great here, Resplendent Angel is decent too. Not game breakingly good, but being a 3 CMC flyer that can sometimes generate some tokens is decent.
Strangely, mine doesn't draw hate - Bruna kind of has the opposite effect. People are like 'Í would remove Bruna, but I wanna see her meld
Same here. People take pictures of Brisela with their phones when I get the meld to go off. lol
Sword and Shepherd - it's the best synergy in the deck, imo.
I took out Sword of the Animist, but you’re making me want to put it back in. It’s also great to get out an early angel, equip, and just start building mana. I guess my issue with it is so many times I’ve only gotten 1 land from it, then it gets blown up. What do you think of Burnished Hart? That card goes nuts with the Shepherd. Hart can get itself back from the yard and 1 other thing. You can do this for every 3 mana you have. That’s massive ramp and getting most everything back from your yard. Unfortunately, on its own it’s pretty slow.

I’ve had nothing but great times with Sword. If I see it and a low curve creature to start I know I’m keeping. Not having to connect means I can swing and not care and still get my land. Then there’s the synergy with Shepherd, which is just incredibly soul crushing to anyone playing against you. If it’s getting destroyed often you can always reclaim it with Sun Titan too.
Hart I’m pretty sure I’ve tried here, it just enddd up being too slow on its own. I probably could give it another go to be fair, but I’m not even sure I need it right now.
Honestly, I liked the idea of Guardian but never really found it clicked overly in the list. It's a nice mana sink, but it was always the last thing I wanted to do with my extra resource. Archangel is a creature I've been chasing a while, and it should be an excellent addition.
The deck is sort of at the point where it's pretty hard to know what to cut. Prison I haven't seen come up in a while, and when it has I haven't really bothered with it. It's always seemed like a way to counter super ramp and aggro, but as it turns out our land drops and ramp are fairly reliable here. So I'm not worried to lose it for Gift, which is a blessing from Wizards to white mages everywhere. Mistveil is niche utility, it won't be supremely handy every game, but it'll allow for some corner case utility here and there, which is cool.
Core 20 looks to have at least a few pieces worthy of consideration here. I really like Bishop of Wings, and I'm keen to see what else comes through. Sephara, Sky's Blade looks ok, but it's no Avacyn. I'll see what else comes through before committing to anything else.
So I took apart my Zedruu build the other day. Mostly what came out of it was really obscure stuff, but there's one piece in particular that Bruna now gets to play with:
I've had a copy since Tempest, and always knew well enough to hold onto it. Its synergy with Land Tax is well known, and it's a pure beast for mono white where we struggle for draw and ramp comparatively. I've found with the deck strategically there's a tendency to hold resources for 'just in case', and to some degree it would be nice to have some filtering, purely to keep momentum up when I'm building or aiming for a win. There's very little better in terms of this, and we have pieces to make sure this stays in play too. It should be a great addition.
So, I guess it's announcement time, and none of us should be overly surprised, but http://mtgnexus.com is now live. I've made an account there, and will be moving my lists over.
My thread is active here, so feel free to follow. I won't be updating my list here any further, and once my lists are fully ported over I will be asking the mods here at salvation to lock these.
I wish all here at salvation and those who choose to stay the best of fortune into the future, and hope to see at least some of you over on Nexus in due course.
