Oh it’s fine - it works really well for your build. I’m hesitant about it here, but it could put in work. Similarly, given your heavier concentration of enchantments I’d be a little hesitant towards Wave of Vitriol. Again, it could be awesome though.
I don't use wave of vitriol or bane of progress in my yeva build either since blowing up my own permanents en masse seems like a bad idea. Tornado is an excellent card, though. I rarely pay the upkeep as it tends to set out for one round with a seedborne muse or similar active and by the time it returns to my own turn having blown up 4 or 5 problematic permanents (and paid a lot of life in the process), it's well worth it.
Yeah, Wave isn’t for everyone. It works for me here because I can make the most of the land drops with landfall triggers, recover lands with ease, and make a decent board state quickly. It’s devastating but it works well here because I can recover from it more quickly than anyone else.
I have two other decks I do run wave of vitriol in even though it blows up my own permanents (including my general). It is a hell of a beating for decks not built to recur like mad, that's for sure.
Yeah, that feels fairly accurate. It’s an absolute beating for any decks more than 2 colours. I like that it’s expensive land tech too. So long ABUR’s, fetches, shocks, cradles, tombs and coffers. I have no problems with running them, but it’s always hilarious to see a super expensive, thousands strong land base gold like a deck of cards to a 5GG sorcery.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to realise, but Baru, Fist of Krosa counts ALL forests coming into play. Realised midgame after casting Wave of Vitriol and swinging for 19 with a Yavimaya Dryad and an elephant. The more you know.
edit - I ended this game by Collective Voyageing for 10, and swinging with the same. This is a stupidly good ability to have in this deck, I truly cannot believe how gross Baru is. Crazily good ability.
The druid is nice early ramp, should be a fun time. Force we've discussed as being great value in a flexible package. Chord vs Zenith was something I weighed up when I first picked up Finale of Devastation, and I think I made the wrong choice. Zenith is an early game fixer, mid game board clearer, there's just so much value to it. Chord is excellent, but it's a finisher, and we probably only need one. Tireless Tracker has been in here a long time. It's been ok, but it was easy enough to cut for more ramp dorks (to be honest, I have a Yavimaya Dryad I'd like to squeeze in too - I'd take suggestions for a cut), purely because it's very much incidentally related to our primary goal whereas the ETB ramp dorks are pure value.
So, I guess it's announcement time, and none of us should be overly surprised, but http://mtgnexus.com is now live. I've made an account there, and will be moving my lists over.
My thread is active here, so feel free to follow. I won't be updating my list here any further, and once my lists are fully ported over I will be asking the mods here at salvation to lock these.
I wish all here at salvation and those who choose to stay the best of fortune into the future, and hope to see at least some of you over on Nexus in due course.
