Personally I hate control decks, but I know that BUG control is a complex deck,so do check it out in established/control area.Hope I helped.
Thanks for the suggestion. I saw him and I can't say I liked. I'm sure is a strong deck, but now I seeing that these lands oriented decks aren't for me. But thanks again for the help.
Hi, I started playing magic again and most of my friends are playing legacy, so I'm searching for a deck to play.
A) I played most t2-t4 in my days (started in 7th edition, stopped by ravnica)
B) I love control decks, U/B is a must. I hate storm decks, I don't think they're fun =/
C) I'm looking for a serious deck and I don't mind the complexity of the deck. I don't have anything in mind; any type strategy for me is good (except storm). I saw some decks online like this "exotic" Grixis control and I liked the way these U/B or U/B/* decks works.
D) I don't care about the price; I'll build the deck piece by piece, no matter how long it takes.
Ah, I liked the esper stone-blade, but my friend have one and I don't want the same deck, but similar builds are fine too. Thanks in advance for the help. =)
I thought of Dredge as I have the Graveborn cards, but was gonna wait on it until Izzet Vs Golgari
Plus the meta is really against it right now
EDIT: I have a playset of Goblin Guides, Bolts, a few Spell Snares and Delvers, is it possible to do a budget UR Delver deck?
GY hate is aaaalways gonna be relevant, so don't let that alone stop you.
My brother is actually working on a somewhat budgety UR delver based on this list. http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=1008118
The landbase is pretty much where the money cards are at, but that could be worked around to be cheaper, at the cost of playability, but that's the cost of every budget deck I suppose. haha
Definitely need to get Snapcasters though. Chain Lightning could be replaced easily enough.

Not a fan of dredge as well as it is dominant at the store I goto
from that list I have:
4 Guides
4 Delvers
4 Bolt
4 Ponders (I can't find 2 of them in my Bin O' Cards)
1 Grim Lavamancer (so need 1 more)
1 Chain Lightning (I may have to make these Shard Volleys :-/)
I can swap the mana base with a few Steam Vents and Sulfur Falls, and cut out all but a few fetches, the snappys though
I could add a Bonfire Of The Damned in I guess as well
EDIT: The deck looks pretty good and upgradeable so definitely seems like a budget choice given my card options, although I also, have a playset of Heritage Druids, Llanowar Elves, and Elvish Visionaries for Elves!
If you can't get Snapcasters then I'm not sure I'd even play the deck. haha He just adds so much power.
Bonfire is debatable. As is Thunderous Wrath. I heard he hated running it.
Shard Volley is risky, but might work, I dunno. But there are other burn spells you could run in place that don't have to be 3dmg. Magma Jet would be cool, even more top deck manipulation.

Snapcasters are not the hardest thing to acquire compared to dual lands :/
Magma Jet, yes I like!

dredge costs more now that it is doing better. The deck is around 250 bucks nowadays.
If you want budget decks Fizzeler you should check out the articles in my signature. They should at least give you some ideas.
I did, your budget thread reminded me there all Dual Lands that don't cost $100, and to build a UR Delver Aggro deck based on the cards I own and my current budget
Worst case is I drop the legacy items in the deck and make it Modern

just came back after a break from magic
so any thoughts/opinions?
spent about 500+ on my deck so far(fetchs, snapcasters, duel land)so is it worth finishing(replacing dazes with forces, and picking up goyfs)
or is the meta not ripe for a highly competitve countertop deck?
thanks

Hey there! Someone at my LGS suggested that I stop by these forums, and here I am
After getting into magic with some friends quite a few months ago, my older brother decided to give me a majority of his cards. My question being, what do you guys suggest I should build into with the cards I have?
So I just came back from an event and now own 2 Badlands and 4 Dark Confidant. I intend on making a Rakdos-colored legacy deck, and was wondering if it would have any chance at being competitive. Is there any kind of build currently that can use that color-combo? My budget's tight, not super tight, but pretty hard pressed. By that I mean, I can probably spend another 400-500 MAX on this deck, and whatever it winds up being, chances are, a decent chunk of that is going to 4 Wasteland, 2 more Badlands, and 4 Bloodstained Mire.

Some combination of those is a pretty good start toward either Aggro Loam or Team Italia, though I would recommend the former over the latter because Aggro Loam seems to put up way more results.

That's a very generic list of cards for this format, really. If you want to use all of those cards, they're a start toward any deck with a U/W/x shell.
You might need to settle for Team Italia if you're trying to avoid expensive cards outside of duals. Just know that Team Italia (RWB) is probably the weakest tricolor combination you can have. Check the prices of Plateaus, Badlands, and Scrublands relative to the other duals. The prices somewhat reflect their demand + past success in top decks.
Still far too pricey. I can't pay 120 for just vindicates, that's absurd as hell. Especially on this kind of budget. Plus, lets see: 4 Wasteland (200) 1 Plateau (40) 3 Scrubland (150) 4 Vindicate (120). That right there alone is 510. And that's not even going into Fetches.
Then you are better off selling your Badlands and Dark Confidants and making a deck that is around ~$700 (e.g. Elves, Candleless High Tide, LED Dredge, Death and Taxes, Merfolk etc). Badlands only sees play in RB Goblin Builds + UBr ANT. Dark Confidants are a mainstay in Aggro Loam, Team Italia, some BUG decks, and B/W Stoneblade--all of which are apparently outside of your budget.
I recommend going on TCGplayer and finding such a deck that has a "Low" price of around that amount since cards can be attained for those prices or lower. Unless you are willing to save up gradually, then you need to settle for something around $700.
Probably not Zoo atm, I have all the dual's for Junk. But don't have any Zoo duals.
How successful is Junk those day's in Legacy tourneys overall?I heard they won first place and top 8 at recent Legacy tourney, I plan to build one lol.

Fae Stalker is a deck that has been getting some resurgence thanks to delver.
Here is a recent list and placing.

CounterTop is viable, I would recommend an Esper build (WUB) so you can use the Sword Of The Meek, Thopter Foundry combo, or Jace, The Mind Sculptor
That and you don't have to spend a good chunk on the Goyfs
