Hows everyone tonight?
Is there any reason to not play 4 flagstones of trokair in a mono white weenie deck?
Turn 1 i play a flagstones, tap it, do whatever.
Turn 2, i tap the flagstones, get W in my mana pool, play a second flagstones, sacrifice the 1st one, get a plains, then tap the second flagstones, and have WW to use, with 2 tapped lands
Theres no tempo loss, correct?
Playing flagstones instead of plains doesnt make me more susceptible to wasteland or other land destruction because if you destroy the flagstones i get a plains.
Playing 4 flagstones instead of 1 doesn't make me any more susceptible to back to basics since there will never be more then 1 flagstones in play at a time. In fact, i think it helps because i can tap 1 flagstones, play a second one, sacrifice the taped one to get a plains, and have the new flagstones to tap.
Ive always read that deck thinning with fetches was a real thing, but the advantage it gives isnt worth the loss of life if you're just running the fetches for the deck thinning.
Isn't the flagstones doing the exact same thinning as the fetches with no downside at all?
Am i understanding how flagstones works correctly?
Im trying to put a 21st land in my white weenie deck, so i get stuck with 1 land openers less often, but obviously, i dont want to get flooded out.
Even if thinning out the deck is only a slight help, is there any reason to not use flagstones as ive described?
Plus it does really help sometimes, like with pox or similar cards.
Thanks for your advice

The scenario you give near the start of your question is legal, assuming the Plains card in question is just named Plains (but note that you don't "sacrifice" a permanent named Flagstones of Trokair due to the legend rule for controlling more than one legendary permanent with that name [C.R. 704.5j]). And indeed, the triggered ability of Flagstones of Trokair will trigger when it goes to the graveyard from the battlefield for any reason, whether due to the legend rule (C.R. 704.5j), by being destroyed (C.R. 701.7a), or otherwise.

EDIT (Jan. 5): Edited.
The actual problem is your deck is more on the casual side then competitive so you are not seeing some of the same downsides people running cards like Wasteland and Rishdan Port in a D+T deck do. White Weenie is death and taxes in legacy. Things like 4x Rishdan Port Wasteland 3-4 Karakas etc mean Bloodmoon and Back to Basics are even stronger when you through in 4x Flagstones.
Additionally Rest In Peace, Aven Mindcensor and the like that you would want to run from the board are going to stop it. Fringe cases like wasteland on your upkeep on a game winning turn, mainboarded Price of Progress, Opposing Mindcensor etc that are not worth getting into but there are quite a few.
Your thinking on B2B is a little mislead as having 4x means you are more likely to have 1x of in play but not guaranteed to have another. Yes having 4 can help you get out from under B2B temporarily but it is also much more likely you have one stuck under a B2B as well.
There are ways to make it worthwhile if you want to try it. I'd suggest topping your curve with 2x Cataclysm or 2x armageddon if you want to keep the deck in your signature.
If you don't play death and taxes for budget we can still make a stronger white weenie/landfall deck I think with 4x flagstones.
For the landbase run
4x Flagstones
4x Ghost Quarter
4xWhite Fetchland(Evolving Wilds for budget)
4xWhite Fetchland(Terramporphic expanse for budget)
8x Basic Plains
An ideal open with Flagstones into Steppe Lynx and then Ghost quarter your own Flagstone is 3x Landfall Triggers attacking with a 6/7 cat turn 2. Having your cat 4/5 most turns is realistic.
Ghost Quarter can serve like a wasteland vs some decks, still deal with a problem land like maze of ith vs others, and you can also GQ your own lands for landfall triggers.
Landfall with Canyon Jerboa or Retreat can give your team serious go wide juice moreso than a simple anthem.
I have most of the cards you mention for dnt, but i keep them in my goblins deck instead.
The 5 mono colored decks in my signature are really my casual, fun decks i play with my kids.
Its going to take a while for me to look through all the cards you mentioned, thanks for your advice

I'm a former judge (lapsed), who keeps up to date on rules and policy. Keep in mind that judges' answers aren't necessarily more valid than those of people who aren't judges; what matters is we can quote the rules to back up our answers. When in doubt, ask for such quotes.
That being said, there WAS a build of DnT i saw a while back that tried to run dust bowl with flagstones instead of ports.
That alongside wastelands means that they're going for a full-out wasting all lands kinda strategy; white pox, if you will. Wasn't good though, but was still worth looking at.
I believe all of the points above are good. Just cuz it acts/looks like a basic plains with upside doesn't mean that it's actually that in legacy. blood moon is still played here and there, price of progress i saw as a 4-of in a recent burn build, back to basics is a card that also sees play, and heck, even ashiok, dream render is something that i've seen 4 of in a deck's 75.
All that poo-poo-ing aside, the landfall themed white zoo build seems like it could be interesting. My assumption would be that you'd need to splash for green to make it reasonably competitive against the general legacy meta. Was thinking veil of summer vs control/discard/storm, and berserk as a gotcha-finisher.
Thanks for your input.
Isnt what youve said true of any non basic land?
Are there any white non basics that youd consider worth running in a white weeine deck in spite of the negatives that come along with being non basic?
Does karakas even still make the cut, or am i really better off just running 21 plains, and accepting that im going to flood out once in a while?

Really depends what meta you expect, as always. If you stick playing in your store and you know the meta over there, you pretty much know whether Karakas is good in your deck. The card is insanely good but very expensive. It deals with Dark Depths, Griselbrand, Emrakul, and protects your Thalias... is it something you encounter in your games ?
The canopy lands are good too. Since you're aggro, you don't care pinging yourself and it's anti-flood insurance. Sunbaked Canyon and Silent Clearing are more affordable than Horizon Canopy, choose according to your splash of choice.

Well, right now, my meta is my wife and kids, with the decks in my signature.
I dont get out much latley.....
Im trying to make the decks fun and interesting, but good enough to beat thier friends, so they stay interested when covid ends....
I have a few karakas, so why not throw em in there?
I try to make it interesting for me too by making the decks as diverse as possible, i use the canopy lands in the burn deck, im hoping to use something else here.

I'd start with:
The u/w hybrid bird that force spikes a spell
4x Steppe Lynx
4x Mother of Runes
2-3x Cartographer Hawk
2-3x Kor Skyfisher
A good mix of aggro hate bears like Thalia, Drannith Magistrate, Grand Abolisher, Tomik, Distinguished Advokist
Your choice of 3-5 standalone threats at 3 mana like the cat king, Mirian Crusader, Porcelain legionnaire or maybe just
4x Canyon Jerboa
6 Utility Spells
3-4 Plowshares
2-3 catch alls Your choice of Oblivion Ring etc
2 4 mana spells to close out games against grindy opponents
Catacylsm armageddon or Retreat to Felidar would be good fits
For the landbase run
4x Flagstones
4x Ghost Quarter
4xWhite Fetchland(Evolving Wilds for budget)
4xWhite Fetchland(Terramporphic expanse for budget)
8x Basic Plains

Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
