The sideboard's missing 3 cards but I'm not sure what to put there. I'm trying to get into Legacy and this is my first real attempt at deck building. I'm trying to get more Force of Will but the odds of that happening is slim. The idea of the deck is simple enough but I don't know enough about the format to know if it is viable though. I've played 1 Legacy event, it was small, and I saw 2 RDW (one goblins and the other just burn), 1 combo elves, and 1 running Tarmogoyf (I didn't see anything besides that in the whole match).
1.) Anyone who thinks cancel is viable should be shot. in the face. with a hammer.
2.) You misunderstand, what I was suggesting was the total exclusion of Spellstutter Sprite, because it just isnt that good anymore.
3.) Understand, Dredge is not really a Magic: The Gathering deck. When a card is playable in it, it doesn't mean it's a tournament playable card. It means it's playable in whatever crazy fantasy world that Dredge operates in.
I was looking for another hard counter at 2cc (and replacing itself isn't bad) though I suppose something like Deprive would fit the bill. I had considered Rune Snag initially because it's get better as the game goes on but still I'd rather have the hard counter there.
The events I would be playing this in would be small and not representative of what a legacy meta would normally look like which is why I think I could play something like this with success.
I do have to inform you that your deck would undergo a complete revamp, i.e. 4 underground seas, fetchlands like polluted delta, flooded strand, heck even moxes to speed up your mana.
Megrim is kinda slow in this format for a 3cmc spell.
As for hard counters, counterbalance with sensei divining top might be a good idea too.
Echoing truth might be a good idea with capsize.
In regards to the doppelganger, I think tombstalker fits in better here, a much better finisher.
More to highlight but till next time (others could probably suggest better stuff that I too)
Also Mind Twist is not legal in Legacy FYI.

This should help people out who are addressing me in further posts: My name is Tenkai. It's not Tokobo. Thank you. =)
you have zero ways to stop early creatures kicking your but before you could possibly use damnation. you already said you're faceing goblins, elves, and goyf.
hence, you MUST stop first and second turn drops from kicking your teeth in.
daze is the card you're looking for. maybe a few fetches if you have them too.
also, you're going to want 4 smother or doomblade, and only 2 damnation, maybe 1-2 more in the baord.
@toboko.. i'm pretty sure this is more of a casual/budget deck.

Yeah if I had the Underground Seas and the Polluted Deltas then they would definitely be in this deck. I just don't have access to those kinds of cards. The budget isn't as much of an issue as card availability...and I can't believe I missed that Mind Twist wasn't legal.
I've got Force Spike so I can slide that into the deck for the Mind Twist and a Megrim (that's always been a pie-in-the-sky dream anyways). I'll give Daze a shot, I've never played with it so I don't know how good it can be though "free" counters are never bad.
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll think on it and repost another list.

Deprive could probably be a good kill spell like Smother or even good bounce like Echoing Truth.

why would you want them to draw cards when you're aim it to get their hand empty?
maybe replace with daze.
