I have been mulling this idea over for a while in my head and I am looking for some help. I am trying to figure out if there is a way to port over this deck from vintage. Anyways, here is my list.
-4 Sphere of Resistance: Slows your Welder lock down. I would move these into the sideboard.
-4 Lodestone Golem: Without Mishra's Workshop, the Golem usually won't be hard cast. If you have Transmuter or an active Welder, then you will always want the Golem to be something bigger.
-1 Nullstone Gargoyle: Not a good creature.
-1 Platinum Angel: Easy to for the opponent to play around or remove. Don't tell me that it can't be removed because of Welder; Swords to Plowshares will be exiling it.
-1 Goblin Welder: No need for so many. Few of your artifacts need recurring.
-1 Master Transmuter: Good with Tangle Wire. Otherwise, worse than Welder.
+4 Chalice of the Void: Superb card in all Stax builds.
+4 Mox Diamond: Acceleration for a T2 artifact monstrosity.
+1 Crucible of Worlds: Synergy with all your strategies. Should always be a 4-of.
+1 Smokestack: Read directly above.
+1 Inkell Leviathan: Best artifact creature available.
+1 Barbarian Ring: If you're playing R Stax, this is a card to include. It's much stronger than it looks. Discarded with Mox (usually), and recurred by way of Crucible.
Welder Stax is a fun deck. I look forward to more discussion in this thread.
