The thing you have to ask yourself is why is this better than ProBant CounterTop? Instead of creatures which can hold off aggro for you, you play eleven spells that don't effect the board and help your opponent in a number of match ups. You could have a slightly more stable mana base, but you are splashing red, so it is actually worse. I don't really see any way it is better.
Well, archive trap is better than glimpse and you use it as a 3 of vs. 4. Almost all decks play fetches so it is free and it nets more cards.
You have 0 creatures so Innocent Blood would be a very strong candidate. Starstorm strains your mana base and fits a role that has better on color options like your damnations, firespouts(to a lesser extent), etc.
I think you noticed, but you have 25 land + fetches + brainstorm with a curve at 4 mana. That is more than sufficient. With the extra cards, brainfreeze might be an option. Assuming you can piggy back off 2 spells an opponent would play during their turn, that equals 1U -> mill 9 with the option of being larger. Ensnaring bridge is always an option to hide under.
The mill archetype is pretty tough to pull off outside of combo brainfreeze and painters servant + grindstone.
Edit-> with brainfreeze you could maybe pull something like this off:
Me: fetch, play spell.
You: brainstorm, force.
Me: play spell.
You: archive trap, brainfreeze. Mill 13 + 18 = 31.
That said, this type of deck is an uphill battle but I am sure it would be a blast to pull off a win.
I'm not too worried about is X better than Y nor am I worried about yard based decks. If reanimator or some such is highly expected I'd just throw some Leylines main. I'd hope to tweak this deck to make it viable against as many decks as possible instead of just writing off innovation because deck X is favored in the format.
4 Glimpse the Unthinkable
4 Mind Funeral
3 Archive Trap
4 Force of Will
3 Counterbalance
3 Sensei's Divining Top
3 Spell Pierce
4 Brainstorm

2 Damnation
1 Starstorm
3 Firespout
4 Polluted Delta
2 Scalding Tarins
4 Underground Sea
4 Volcanic Island
2 Badlands
1 Steam Vents
2 Watery Grave
1 Swamp
1 Mountain
4 Island
I agree with the poster above. Drop Ravnica Duals. I would take red out and add white if you're going 3 colors.
As mentioned above this gives you access to Moat, but also more importantly: Vindicate, Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile (Wonderful with Archive trap)
other considerations for a deck like this: Twincast double free Archive trap = 26 cards for :symu::symu: if they serach with a fetch!
Innocent Blood
**********
Run Counter-Top engine, very good. (not to mention Dark Confidant and Innocent Blood with Tops is incredible synergy, AND strong against Dredge, your worst matchup in HELL)
Yeah Imperial Painter is good. Just be prepared to Spend $600 Just for a playset of Imperial Recruiter. Not to mention Grindstone, and a $500ish manabase.
EDIT: Mighty Quinn a.k.a Quin the Eskimo is also a Painter's Servant based deck. That would probably be a cheaper, alot cheaper than Imperial Painter
This is how I make mad money by doing what I already do, Shopping with Mr. Rebates. If you signup with my referral, send me an email and I will show you how to earn even more money.
No, because Planar Void's ability triggers when the card hits the graveyard, whereas Leyline it never actually hits the gy. The key word in the phrase I guess would be "instead".
I made a Black Stax deck running Helm Combo before. I wouldn't recommend in a stax shell though, I think just straight up black control with discard would suite it much better, it does work and it does win though, you get some odd looks from players
I'd recommend another out if you could, maybe throw in a few Stalkers.
I was thinking something along the lines of this:

AVOID MTG Fanatic ! Remands Orders and Re-lists cards for more money!
Edit: With brainstorm, fetches, and tops you could probably run and find 1 copy of Haunting Echoes assuming you live long enough to cast it.
AVOID MTG Fanatic ! Remands Orders and Re-lists cards for more money!
Also, instead of Ravnica Duals, you could probably just use more basics. That way you're not opening yourself to nonbasic hate for no reason.
Also, that many maindecked board sweepers don't really seem needed.

Dark Ritual lets you do turn 1 Phrexian Arena Dark Confidant, and/or Duress, Thoughtseize, Hymn to Tourach (if you wish to add card draw/discard) Or a turn 3 Haunting Echoes
Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond = Turn 1 Glimpse the Unthinkable
Sinkhole bye bye pesky land

For the counter.
FoW is great, good, love it.
Daze, Disrupt, Spell Snare > Spell Pierce in legacy.
Perish over Damnantion, and move them sto Sideboard, normally just need sweepers against Progenitus, Tarmogoyf
Let me know how you run it. I'm curious.

Yes it does and it runs painter servent and grindstone. Look up Quinn the eskimo or Imperial Painter.

Helm of Obedience
Leyline of the void
That's it. You could, in one turn, win the game.
You start with Leyline in your hand, it goes into play.
Swamp, tap swamp, Dark Ritual, Dark ritual, helm, tap 1 left to helm for 1, mill library from the game. Game over.
That's it. The rest of your deck can be build around that combo and to make sure you can protect it and have it happen.
I like Turtles
