Alright, I noticed some nice little interactions between Cursed Totem and Knight of the Holy Nimbus, Glittering Lynx and other similar creatures and I thought it would be pretty neat to build a deck playing with these interactions. Here is the list I came up with:



So basically the idea, is to play like mono-W control, but try to lay down a Cursed Totem and in doing so render your Knight of the Holy Nimbus and Glittering Lynx almost invulnerable. I chose Day of Judgment, because it allows the Knight to regenerate. Also, Serra Avenger's vigilance allows her to evade Meekstone. So what do you think?

THe only problem is that Glittering Lynx doesn´t seem very frightning?? Beside of that your creatures haven´t any kind of evasion (except avenger) so perhaps i would try to find something more to play in the deck.
The problem is that i can´t remember something to play here. The good news is that cursed totem makes grim lavamancer, knight of the relic,... worse.

Glittering Lynx is in there as he is a decent 1-drop that can block Goyf all day once the Cursed Totem is out. I had also considered Clergy of the Holy Nimbus, because they would survive wrath effects as well. My initial plan was to slowly chip away at health using the Knights and Avengers, but I may be in need of a stronger finisher (keep in mind that I am running Meekstone to stop larger creatures, so vigilance or something lower than 2 power is needed.)

I could drop meekstone and maybe 1x Crucible in order to get some more creatures in there, maybe Soltari Priest or Soltari Visionary (to add more control via enchantment destruction)? The problem with more creatures is the inability for them to get around Day of Judgment, maybe Eternal Dragon, could be useful by having evasion and recursion. Yosei, the Morning Star also comes to mind. I'm not quite sure yet.

The finisher is easy. Inclue 3x o 4x Elspeth. She provides creatures that will untap with meekstone and give all your dudes a nice power and evasion. She dodges day of judgement too so I think is the perfect finisher for your deck.

That's a pretty good idea. I never think of planeswalkers. Now, I guess she rotates out of standard, so the price drops a bit, hehe

I think the deck with all the removal you are playing and elspeths becomes a good deck to play with. The only thing I´ve included is any removal for enchatments/artifacts. Perhaps you can remove a crucible and something more to use this slots for that.

PD: Clergy of the holy nimbus fits in the deck too So you have 8 one drop creatures

Æther Vial would be nice as it flashes your creatures into play.

I even cut the angels because they doesn´t fit here, so i think vial is not neccesary here. Instead I´ll put a couple of jitte´s for lynx, knight or elspeth´s tokens. Also I would remove meekstone for something better (i.e. jitte´s ;)) .

Would you care to post a list zabuza? (I was thinking maybe Sword of Fire and Ice or Umezawa's Jitte like you said could serve as win conditions and would be tutorable).

As for vials, the number of creatures I run seems too low to fully take advantage of it. I guess I could try them because I have a playset (never hurts to test things out!)

Another thing, I wasnt sure of was playing Cursed Totem or Damping Matrix, due to the addition of "artifact hate"?

with tutors you have access to silver bullets so usually you didn´t want more than one of them MD.

Using crucible you can play mishra´s because they can be recovered. With elspeth, your man-lands and your auto-regenrate dudes you have enough dudes to carry a Jitte.

I think the deck could be something like this. Obviusly you can change anything you want. THe obnly problem is that I would like to play more enchantment/artifct removal besides of Oblivion rings.

I had thought about running Mishra's Factory as they work quite well in conjuction with crucible. However, the problem I am seeing with running 4xWasteland and 4xFactory is that it may become difficult to cast those WW cards (knight, day of judgment, elspeth). A part from O-ring, the only thing I could think of would be Soltari Visionary maybe as a 2-3 of. His evasion would make taking out enchantments every turn a breeze. I haven't really thought about artifact hate so much, maybe like I suggested; Damping Matrix could possibly slow them down instead of using just the Cursed Totem.
I just thought Crawlspace could take meekstone's place as this would allow to chump block with the few knights and/or lynx's without getting overwhelmed early on, before a Day of Judgment can resolve (vs. merfolk and goblins).

You may want to move away from the 'hard' lock and try suppression field in the place of cursed totem as it can flat out murder decks that rely on fetchlands, i.e. most of the metagame. Your creatures do become more vulnerable this way but it hampers the opponents much, much more as it hits all activated abilities and makes it cost 4 mana to effectively kill a Knight. Couple this with things like wasteland and I'd up the Armageddons to a four of.

Yeah I like suppression field better but don't run vials if you run that. Trust me suppression field murders when it drops I run it as a sideboard card in my Enchantress and it is so great when it lands. It's like GG to some decks. It slaughters zoo and really kills counter top if you slap it down turn 2. Honestly it might be one of the most under rated cards in legacy.

Wasteland's ability would also therefore cost 2 to activate and it may not be so viable with Suppression Field, but I like the idea given that, as you said, most of the meta relies on fetches.

Honestly this might just end up being The staxless Stax. Dropping a suppression field on turn one would be ideal. Honestly splashing black might be an option as well as it would allow you to run a heavier mana denial package with vindicates and maybe even smallpox, if the manabase could handle that.

Paying 2W for four life, which is what that card will do 90% of the time, is unbelievably bad. Play Renewed Faith if you want that kind of effect.

Powering out Austere Command with Everflowing Chalice isn't very good here. If you've sunk four mana into a Chalice, you aren't going to want to name artifacts. Further more, since your deck plays a very large number of board control enchantments, you aren't going to want to name enchantments. It just seems like a six mana Wrath to me.

In general, I think you'd be better of playing Mighty Quinn, or at the very least appropriating its draw engine and Enlightened Tutors.

Suppression Field is great. You have to remember that in addition to making your wastelands suck it also makes you Factories suck as well. That is the kind of thing that needs testing (Suppression Field vs. Cursed Totem)

Cool deck. I kinda want to build it just to throw everyone off.

I also like the idea of splashing black for Vindicate. It's sooo good. That makes things a little tricky then because you probably want to run fetch lands but then that makes Suppression Field no good and vise versa. What a situation we find ourselves in! Maybe if you went 4 Scrublands and 4 Godless Shrine.... That way your Flagstones could still find them....

Check the Suppression Field.dec forum. It is extremely similar to your idea and could give you hints.

if you are going to run geddon you are going to need to play something like mox diamond, aether vial or chrome mox so that you can continue to produce cards even after you geddon.
