Yeah, but flickering gives protection from one colour, not troll shroud, so sometimes you are going to lose the cloacks (if naming white with ward and your dude is enchanted with one).
I´m thinking that you can use peacekeeper to stop emrakules, progenitus and so on from attacking. I´m considering using them on side along gaddock teeg.
And now I found the problems. I would like to play in this deck
* Yavimaya Enchantress (the little sister of gnarlid, grows fast)
* Troll Ascetic (troll shorud and regenerates. A nightmare for control decks)
* Auratog. It grows very fast and combo with rencor (and with spiritdancer is a party)
I think we must play about 22 or so creatures so 6 more creatures are needed. Would be correct using 2/2/2. Is better another configuration?
Another thing I´considering is playing wheel of sun and moon MD. Nowdays lot of decks work with graveyard (even tarmo which is in lot of decks depends on grave), but survival decks, dredge, loam, ..... So i don´t know if playing them maindeck is a good choice.
Another thing I´m considering is playing lignify in MD and isolation in SDB. Isolation seems better because flash, but nowdays there are lot of creatures with nasty habilities and isolation doesn´t prevent them from using it. Confidant, peacekeeper, lords,......
What do you think??
EDIT: The list I´m testing now that seems Pretty solid is:
I´ve tested it against Burn, Affinity, Sneak Attack and Poison Stompy. It has won lot of games (the hardest is against Sneak Attack) so i´ve included Peacekeeper and Gaddock Teeg on side.
I see my thread has recently sparked interest. Coincidentally, after playing the deck for months, I happen to have made recent changes. Tweaking with the creature base I decided to try removing Auratog altogether. Frankly, pumping the tog with Rancor is not as strong as it seems, it is the card advantage it generates with either a dancer or en enchantress in play that makes it good. Unfortunately, the combo requires 3 pieces and simply doesn't occur very often, or when it does, it feels like I could easily win without it. This is my current, up to date version:
After much experimenting, the core cards of the deck seem to consist of:
4 Kor Spiritdancer
4 Silhana Ledgewalker
5-8 Utopia Sprawl/Wild Growth
4 Rancor
2-4 Ancestral Mask
In most cases, the Ancestral Mask is the win condition. Also, 8 of the creatures in the deck are vulnerable to removal and WILL be removed. I tried running Canopy Cover to protect them but it is somewhat slow and doesn't add meat to your creature. My answer so far is Hyena Umbra. This card is extremely cost-effective and greatly improves the early game against aggro matchups with the first strike ability when your in a situation where you want to sit back a couple of turns to build an unstoppable force. Although I haven't encountered much mass removal, umbra can also protect a heavily enchanted ledgewalker from board sweepers (Pernicious Deed is death). I found that Sterling Grove is a very potent card post-sideboard against Krosan Grip but truly shines in its tutor ability to fetch either Oblivion Ring or Ancestral Mask. As for my spot removal, I remain unsure as to whether I should use Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile. The deck is defensive in the early stages of the game where you want to establish a board position but eventually becomes very aggressive after the 3-4th turn putting your opponent on a near unstoppable clock. Giving your opponent life could potentially mean giving him an extra turn but giving him a land tends to accelerate your opponent a turn. Lignify looks like a very fitting alternative.
I think you might be a tad creature light. I would -4 StP add 1 argothian enchantress and try swapping the lignify in for the other 3. I agree lignify actually seems better than swords here because it can hit iona/ draw you cards/pump your creatures.
HAve you tested my list? I really recomend it to you because I´ve tested it against several decks (Affinity, Burn, Merfolks,..)and I think it´s very strong.
You have 8 removal (isolation and Lignify which i said you it was very good) to play on the first turns against the menaces the opponent plays (and because they are auras you gain all advantages form them) and then you can put your gnarlids in mode berserk ;).
I¨m playing two auratogs because mixed with spiritdancer and rancor is a party. I suggest you keeping a couple of them.
What do you think?
About sideboard I´m not sure about it, but probably I would play:
wheels
Gaddock/Peacekeeper
Krosan grip
???
I don't like Temporal Isolation much because disabling my opponent's creatures for their power/toughness is the least of my concerns. My creatures are usually stronger, unblockable, and either have first strike or lifelink when defending. On the other hand, I do like Lignify on those pesky Grim Lavamancer and Dark Confidant, the cantrip is what makes it truly effective. I do agree that I could use a tad bit more creatures but running more than 2 Auratog is a waste. Perhaps -1 Armadillo Cloak -1 Lignify, Oblivion Ring, or Wild Growth. Again, Auratog rarely ever gets exploited in today's fast aggro meta.
curious, would fling-ing spirit dancer or a gnarlid be useful for ending game quicker?
second with decks that build up in this fashion (centered on building 1/2 main creatures.) would dueling grounds have a spot here?
third would a pattern of rebirth be useful?
4th the totem armors. if you vindicate a kor dancer with multiple hyena umbras. do all the hyena umbra's totem armor trigger and sacrifice or can you choose to just sacrifice one umbra?

I have been told by several judges that you can chose one armor to destroy instead of them all. I'm too lazy to look up the ruling but have been told it is a replacement effect. Dueling grounds might be good against pesky survival and goblin decks if they are a bother to you. Could also shut down empty the warrens
Dueling Ground would make a good SB card against aggro heavy decks but I wouldn't splash red for fling. Fling is just another card that doesn't do anything without a heavily enchanted creature in play, it is too situational. Also, if it gets countered, you are left with absolutely nothing.
Whereas the original poster shifted his deck away from the auratog theme of saccing enchantments, this one goes all for it. The deck used to be g/w/u before kor spirit dancer was printed. I played phantatog instead. The aurathief is a holdover from that time but I've kept it around as a single just because the combo with enchanted evening is so fun to pull off in multiplayer and can have some uses otherwise in breaking control decks that rolling moat etc.
The deck works the same as the others in the thread, beating down quickly and accruing massive card advantage. However, this deck also runs enchanted evening which allows it to go on tilt as it were. Generally the turn after landing enchanted evening, I'll play silence if I can or try and protect with aspect of the mongoose and then sacrifice every permanent I have to a rancored auratog for 20+ damage. Berserk is another way to do this, pump with rancor 5 times then swing and berserk.
Here's my deck idea. Now, before you laugh at Uril, may I remind you about a few things. First, the deck generates a ton of mana via Growth effects and Serra's Sanctum. Also, he can be searched up via Green Sun's Zenith. Plus, sometimes, when Thrun doesn't pack enough punch, Uril can be searched up, plays a similar role as an "untouchable" creature, and plays into auras very nicely. I mean one Rancor alone makes him a trollshroud 9/7 trampler. Nothing to scoff at.
Lignify comes down against a slew of utility creatures. Other than that, the choices seem pretty obvious: cheap creatures that are hard to target or enchantress effects. GSZ can search up an Enchantress, a land, a beater or an evasive creature and isn't mana color dependant.
Spirit Loop functions the same as Spirit Link except it isn't wasted on a single guy.
No, it doesn't. You can't put a Spirit Loop on an opponent's creature to partially nullify it, as Spirit Loop can only be placed on a creature you control. You can do this with both Spirit Link and Vampiric Link.
Since they don't grant the lifelink ability, YOU gain the life when you enchant an opponent's creatures with these cards. So if they attack you with their 5/5 creature, you lose 5 life and then gain it right back. As long as you aren't at 5 or less, you survive. With every chump block, you make a net gain.
I can't count the number of times this has saved my bacon.
EDIT: I apologize for the thread necromancy here. This discussion was fresher in my mind than it probably should have been, and I didn't realize that it had become so old. I would have responded to this right away, but for some reason I wasn't e-mailed when the thread was updated.
I've been working on this deck for a little while and am trying to make it as viable as I can for legacy.
The main change I made to the deck was adding suppression field. While browsing the suppression deck thread I noticed that my version of this deck only played one card with an activated ability, so I took it out and threw in four suppression fields. This is the list that I'm playing now:
I was skeptical about aura gnarlid but it really is a beast in this deck.
I'd like to find a different answer than MM to my creatures getting plowed, but I just don't think there is one. There's lots of protection from xyz color effects that look good but you have to remember than you can't pick green or white most of the time, which really really blows.
I'm not understanding how silvana ledgwalker gives synergy to the deck...I mean it's got the hexproof which is always nice but you get that from rancor already...

Why don't you just play Bogles.dec? It's an established archetype. Hexproof creatures are just easier to dump Auras on.
