i dont think lavamancers and gofs get along too good. anyone ever try Sheltering Ancient?? or just a straight up red burn style with some fetches and taigas to include goyf...
Is there any reason why Bloodbraid Elf isn't in any of these builds? I admit that 4 is a lot, but it does have haste, and almost all of the spells in this deck will activate if Cascaded into. Plus, since a lot of the non-creatures are Burn spells, they'll always be relevant.
Bloodbraid Elf is too expensive for what she does. For 4 mana you could have Humilities, Moats and Jace 2.0 on the table.
I think Quirion Dryad still deserves being main board. Combined with Goyfs your burn becomes so much more efficient. Playing spells like Lava Dart allows the Dryad to grow quickly.
I wouldn't run Kird Ape. If I needed something like that I'd rather play Nacatl, but if I'm considering a white splash I'd much rather play Zoo altogether. A RG build doesn't have to rely on fetch and dual lands as much.
I haven't played this deck but by looking at it it seems Keldon Marauders, Kiln Fiend, Tarmogoyf and Quirion Dryad are some good beaters to begin with. Fanatic and Lavamancer seem too weak to me. Goyf and Mancer don't work well together. It's also too slow. It takes 2 activations to deal 4 damage by exiling 4 cards and paying a total of RRR over 3 turns. That's not really good imo. you should be bolting his blockers while growing your Fiends and Dryads in size and bash face.
Goblin Guide could be looked into. It's a good 1 drop creature and compliments your burn strategy. It also lures removal that can hit your Goyfs or Dryads.
It goes back to the old 20-20-20 strategy then, but that seems pretty good to me.
I might try it in a mono red meta list packing 6 to 8 moon effects for disruption. I love sligh, but it's not competitive enough without significant disruption these days, sadly. Goyf sligh might be able to do it, but keldon marauders+goyf good enough for the 8 2 drop spot? Might be.
Hey, I'm currently working on revamping the primer (adding stuff like Goblin Guide and axing Mogg Fanatic, stuff thats needed for a while) and was wondering if anyone wanted to help get Match Ups and test some of the more untested cards like Burning-Tree Shaman). PM me if you would like to help.

And all that the Lorax left here in this mess
was a small pile of rocks, with one word...
UNLESS.
Whatever that meant, well, I just couldn't guess.

I still feel like Mogg Fanatic is good. He's still serving me well.

No, that's just Zoo with a lower-cut curve. It's somewhere in the middle there....
