What if you ran out of cards and opponent casts a Wrath? You will like to draw a 3/3 instead of a 2/1.
Wrath does not see much play, if at all in Legacy. It's too slow. Even if it did, it really isn't that hard not overextending because of your threat density (Tarmogoyf).
Quasali Pridemage doesn't completely invalidate Tin-Street in this deck. It's really good, but not strictly better. At least Tin Street can say that he blows up the artifact when he comes in and stays in play instead of having to be sacced like Pridemage.
I'm aware that 3 life is a lot of damage to take early on when used with Onslaught fetches, but can Goyf Sligh still work using Ravnica duals (eg. Stomping Ground) if original dual lands are unavailable?

it will hurt you a ton, but if you're just playing in a casual meta im sure you'll be alright
How have people fared with playing Quirion Dryad late game? Yes, the aim is to get the Dryad out as soon as practical, but sometimes that doesn't eventuate, and it does take some time (and enough spell slinging) to get it up to a reasonable size.
Stomping Ground will be replaced with Taiga as soon as I get the opportunity to acquire the latter.
My main problem is choosing what to use in the last 8 slots. I'm not quite sold on Quirion Dryad, since it takes a while to build up, and is therefore not a great draw later in the game. I thought about Keldon Marauders as well, but I'm unsure as to how good they are for the little time they appear.
I'm apprehensive about Kird Ape, but in the absence of any other good drops, it will have to do. For some reason, the card causes me to conjure thoughts of milk products.
How have you found Grim Lavamancer? I would think that this card is counter-productive when you're playing 'Goyf? Being that there's only 4 card types in the list and all...
Curious to see what you think

You're not your deck.
You're not how much mana you have in your pool.
You're not your half-naked, animè girl card sleeves.
You're not your DCI rating.
You're not your freaking ‘Coldsnap Prerelease’ t-shirt.
You are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the Multiverse.
I've been playing this deck for a while now with 4 Tarmogoyf and 4 Grim Lavamancer and they've never been a problem. A specific breakdown of my deck would go like this:
Instant 18
Sorcery 4
Creature 19
Land 19
Because there are so many of the same card types in this deck, you are allowed to at least be able to keep one of the card from a card type even after couple activations of Grim. I've never had so many multiple activations of Grim in one game anyways though; the games end around in the early to mid game with this deck most of the time and I would probably only get about three or four maximum activations of Grim per game (if I happen to draw him early).
You only need one card of a certain type in anyone's graveyard to boost Tarmogoyf. Provided you pick out the cards for Grim Lavamancer wisely to retain your bonuses, there shouldn't be a problem.
When I mentioned my hang-up about Kird Ape to an acquaintance, he suggested trying Hellspark Elemental. Normally his advice is pretty good, but I don't understand how that's any good. Sure, it has unearth to go for broke twice, but even Incinerate seems to have a better chance at doing 3 damage for 1R.
You have to spend 5 mana total to make figure a 4/4. 10 mana total to make it an 8/8 but that's on turn six that is can be an 8/8 and you should win with zoo by turn 8 unless they dropped chalice or 3sphere against you

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
a) Unearth ignores Counterbalance, every other Counterspell (and Chalice 2)
b) The card is annoying for controldecks unless they use Swords for it. Which is one less spot removal for Goyf, Nactal, Lavamancer, Shusher...
c) Enables crazy goldfish starts:
1st turn: Taiga, Nacatl
2nd turn: Plateau, Hellspark Elemental (attack for 6)
3rd turn: random land, Unearth Elemental (attack for 6), Bolt, Fireblast
-> 19 damage on turn 3
the problem with unearth is it doesn't ignore stifle, which is more and more prevalent.
also the problem with your 3 turn example, is obviously the most optimal setup, and you can draw up plenty of t3 turns on paper, but it won't always cut it, and in Legacy, the opponent will 99.999999% of the time be able to screw with you

And all that the Lorax left here in this mess
was a small pile of rocks, with one word...
UNLESS.
Whatever that meant, well, I just couldn't guess.

Yes, but does that alone make it not worth using, as you seem to be suggesting between the lines?
Figure of Destiny will always never become an 8/8. Rarely will he live to become an active 4/4 but, he always will draw out an removal spell. That leaves goyf and lavamancer open.
Why is this thread called gofy sligh again? Whats sligh anyways just dunno what it is sorry
Sligh is essentially a deck comprised of cheap effective creatures and burn spells. The basic strategy is to get creatures on the board early. The burn deals with anything blockers from your opponent. Once your opponent is at about 9 life, burn starts targeting them for the win.
The deck was made popular by a guy named Paul Sligh, and variations of the deck have popped up ever since the mid 90s.
The whole goyf aspect is the idea that splashing green gives you more options while not sacrificing the consistency of the deck. Sligh has never really had huge creatures that stayed on the table. Now you have Tarmogoyf which is cheap, effective and easily splashed into the deck. Moreover, people tend to have sideboard options that are focused on dealing with red, and goyf gets around that.
Oh thanks man that helped. Sligh vs zoo which one is better? Coz I have a zoo deck but can also be made onto a sligh. So I wanna know which one is good.

I'd say zoo is better personally I mean the deck is so fast and has an answer to everything which is exactly why it's a deck to beat over at the source. Although it's your choice really maddogleafs.
