I wanted to create a deck around Mycosynth Lattice. Its has three primary win conditions; 1: cheat out the colossus and infect, 2: get my lattice, forge, and disk out and destroy everything until they run out of life, and 3: get lattice and the two stations out to deal infinite damage. I'm unsure of whether this could be competitive, but I would appreciate any advice. I'm not sure about Leonin Abunas or Tempered Steel.
The deck combo itself is rather slow. You need more ways to either ramp it our or protect it. On a casual level, this is most likely fine. Competitive, it is far too slow.
I'd probably go the protecting route. That's my main reason for using counters. Any suggestions on how I might protect it better? Also are there any cards I should sub?
Run 4 transmuters, also, run a few Thousand-Year Elixirs to make better/further use of them.
You might wanna consider running Phyrexian Metamorph to get better use out of your artifacts or your opponent's artifacts and creatures. Instead of Restoration, run Sharuum the Hegemon, it's a transmuter target and a beatstick, you'll get it out for B and get recursion.
If you're playing this online (or if you have the cash) these additions mean more blue as Force of Will fodder as well.
I'd suggest running multiples of combo pieces to avoid Return To Dust disrupting your combo
Okay, so add 2 Thousand-Year Elixirs and remove the 2 Argivian Restorations. I removed both [Leonin Abunas] and added another Master Transmuter and the Sharuum the Hegemon. Thinking about reducing my Lattice due to fabricate and possibly removing 2 counterspells. My reasoning is that it gives me some room to add copies of other combo cards. Debating the practicality of unwinding clock... Anybody have some advice? Also what about Mox Opal for ramp?
I've been thinking about Metalworker but I can't figure out what I would replace. I need the canonist to slow down my opponent, transmuter is my cheater, colossus is a win condition, and ornithopters are transmute fodder. I'm debating replacing a land with mox opal and getting an early fabricate to cheat it into my hand by turn 4, after which it's just a matter of transmuting into a win condition (Realized colossus is probably my easiest win). As for kill switch, I think it kinda becomes redundant with the lattice. I mean it'll hinder me more if my opponent doesn't use a lot of artifacts and its a card I could substitute for another disk, which destroys everything instead of just tapping. Also, I've been thinking about reducing by plain count and adding 4x vault of whispers, mostly due to the removal of abunas.
How exactly are you meant to ramp in to 6, 7, 9 mana spells with 21 single-mana-producing lands? at least use stuff like 12 post, tron, [\city of traitors], even [\ancient tomb]. Try out 4 [\tundra]s, then 4 [\flooded strand]s, 4 [/force of will]s instead of [/mana leak], or at least [/metallic rebuke]. 1 [/plains] and 2 [island]s, then full play set of [/cloudpost], [/glimmerpost] and [/vesuva]. Keep the 2 [/academy ruins]. No [/ornithopters]. Only one [/master transmuter], and try out 2 [/trinisphere]s as well.
