How about a card I recently ran across : transmute artifact? although my problem has never been getting the artifacts, it's grabbing salvagers and using him. I'll probably run 4 salvagers next time at least. And going full reanimation may not be bad.
I've used transmute artifact before in my affinity and thopter builds. could work it is a horribly under used card.
but i can see it a possible transition spell between salvagers and grindstone. use it to turn lets say extra LEDs into combo piece that goes with the pieces you have in hand.
Led transmuted into a grindstone to go with the painter servant you drew
LED turned into pyrite spell bomb
pyrite turned into Lion's eye diamond
the options go on and on.

I think that I will try this on for size. I'm adding Grim Monolith... with it in play, transmute artifact is essentially a Tinker... added 4th bomber for consisntency.
Plus: Turn 1: ancient tomb -> Grim Monolith;
Turn 2: Tundra -> Trinket Mage (for missing piece)/ Intuition For salvagers;
Turn 3: Island/Tundra/Ancient Den -> Tap a W mana source + monolith play salvagers which leaves open W or U and Open to Start the chain and/or protect salvagers with spell pierce.
got a little more what if stuff to go along with transmute artifact, since you have LED and grim monolith, maybe add blightsteel colossus to the mix? it doesn't seem hard to ramp into him through transmute with those kinds of mana accelerants.
just going off your list aaronic adding a kudotha forgemaster does not seem unpractical for a transmute target.
the spawning shell in the new set might be what we've been looking for. drop trinket mage get a combo piece, drop spawning shell sacrifice trinket mage get salvagers, then transmute away spawning shell for pyrite spell bomb. or us the poke ball spell bomb (and a 1cc and 2cc creature) and spawning shell up to salvagers.

oh wow, I like the spawning shell idea! I might try Colossus, 2 LED + 1 grim could net you a blight. You could pay for spawning shell with 2 life + grim monolith mana as well. turn 2. turn 1 even. Then you can use its ability on the turn 2/3 trinket mage to accelerate into salvagers!
This looks like an awesome deck to play (i love combo). However, I don't have FoW's or LED's online (i mainly play online due to lack of interest in area and personal time). Is this a viable option?
This deck can go off T1 with a multitude of hands (have to have Reanimate/LED/Dark Ritual in hand is only requirement. Obviously losing blue, you lose Intuition, FoW, Brainstorm, etc. Like I asked is this viable?
it looks like one of those situations where "its possible but not probable." it seems kind of clunky but maybe that is its edge. the build seems more vulnerable to counter magic and answer effects, while on the other hand you've stocked it with so much search effects and multiple combo setups it seems like it will get strait down to business with out protection.
I think you need more disruption than just thoughtseize and a necrogen spellbomb.

I was staring at birthing pod and it all finally cliched into something feasible. plus it can bomberman as well.
whether it belongs in the bomberman thread is up to you guys.
the main limitation with birthing pod is it only lets you go up by 1, and you can't go back.
so i'll start with 1 casting cost creatures and work my way up explaining them as I go. as you change this idea around and addapt the combo the creatures may change.
1cc and 2cc might be necessary they might be pointless I haven't made a physical deck list yet. 3cc is where my plans start.
1cc- noble heirarch just for a good turn 1 drop and we can get mana acceleration in order to turn 2 drop birthing pod. 1cc starting creature may not even be necessary.
2cc- this spot is still vacant i'm not sure on a filler, but would be nice if it is something disruptive.
3cc- trinket mage- already a mvp in some bomberman lists, his role does not change much, he fetches an LED and then just sits there. But with pod in play he can be sacrificed to fetch our 4cc creature. (auriok salvagers) at this point we have half the combo Lion's eye diamond and Salvagers.
4cc- auriok salvagers he allows the LED combo fetched from the mages the turn before. with him on the field combo out if possible or wait a turn for birthing pod to untap.
5cc- Kumano, Master Yamabushi or reviellark maybe body double
- Kumano seems the easiest win condition as you just burn your opponent down with all the red mana you make with salvager combo.
-reveillark is useless unless it dies but that is its value and purpose for the 5cc spot. it can bring back both the dead trinket mage and salvagers. the dead mage will trigger and fetch up pyrite spellbomb and you combo out as normal. cabal therapy might be good in a deck going with reveillark.
- body double copys anything already in the graveyard and costs 5. once it is on the field it can be any of the previously birthing poded creatures. so it could be a 1cc-4cc. maybe 1cc or 2cc can be a creature that has a kill condition, but I haven't found any so far. his coming into the field as a casting cost less than 5 is probably a fact of worthy of note for anyone working on brithing pod decks.
it could go faster if there was a free way to untap birthing pod cheaply. voltaic key looks good so far.
you can work with a mana base of 3 and pay 4 life to "birthing pod" twice in 1 turn with the key. 2 life 1 colorless to birthing pod activation, 1 colorless to keys ability, 2 life 1 colorless to brithing pods activation.
key might not even be necessary.

Meddling Mage, perhaps from the sideboard even, could be nice here. Off-color from your green start, but it shouldn't be too hard to get him out there to protect yourself from whatever hate they bring in. Split-second Extirpate on LED? Nope, not this time.
Either way, sounds like an interesting twist on a deck I've not done much pondering on. My fear however, would be that you use pod for Salvagers and are all ready to win, but you can't Pod up Kumano `til you untap. Too much time to see what's going on and deal with it.
But, interestingly enough. I kind of want to revisit the deck. Snapcaster Mage seems like an auto-include now adays. Due to Bomberman's recent success in Vintage, I want to revisit the possibility of a control deck, winning through the Bomber Combo.
Here is my latest incarnation, that I will be sleeving up in a few weeks. I'm just starting to test it out. Thoughts? Also thinking, Faithless looting / Goblin Welder Shenannigans.
if running snapcaster mage wouldn't you want to run enlightened tutor?
at 3 mana, flash in clump block, give tutor flash back and set up your next draw.
one thing i'm convienced that should be a staple for this deck if you were to run planeswalker back up kill would be to run an ensaring bridge as a go for broke move to stop aggro game 1.

Yeah, I want to, I just simply ran out of room, I want to evaluate the Tiago Package maybe to include them over or in addition to Trinket Mage. Was also thinking of a Random Brain Free or Cunning wish to flash back as an alternate means to deal with Removal of Bombs from the GY.

Agreed. Tezz 1.0 is there for purely the tertiary plans of A.) Tutor out LED/BOMB or B.) slow roll and aggro out with a few art lands/LEDs.
Maybe rework it a bit to be able to tutor out ensnaring bride over just chump blocking with Trinket mage. More effecient no doubt.
I also want to evaluate my lands 22-23 seem too much/not enough?
i'm not the best to ask when it comes to land counts, infact a lot of people usually call me out for running to few in some architypes.
if anything cut 1 land for 1 bridge.
as far as reworking enlightened tutor that has to come out of something else, if your gunna run it at all.
as far as cunning wish flash back goes, in EDH i've been using Mystic Retrieval for some crazy plays. that would work right out of the yard no need for snapper to be involved.
once the coast is clear, simply discard wish and retrieval to LED and mana ramp till you can pay for flash back and win.
also devil's play for that matter.

messing around a little but some stuff came to mind. such as unburial rites and intuition.

Devil's Play is pretty interesting as a 1-of. That is definitely an interesting approach. I still feel Like Legacy bomber, however, there needs to be a definition of the deck between Combo-Control or straight combo. Straight G/B would be good with Mind Swords, Gamekeeper, Cabal Therapy and Thoughtseize for interference. But that's not bomberman, that's Salvagers Game.
Then there is the Old counterbalance shell that can fit, but I think Snapcaster is more versatile.
Intuition is always solid, but I would be worried about surgical extraction. Auriok Salvagers provides a natural means of protection (provided you have LED or :1mana::symw: open). Faithless looting would seem less risky.
I guess I'm asking If you think a B splash would offer more than a R splash?. Lose Goblin Welder and Pyroblast but gain Targeted Discard/ Unburial Rites
My control version. I guess I want it to be more controlly, with combo finish. I just feel that Dark rit into Gamekeeper is a faster full-on combo, and if I played fast combo version I would dabble in that
Salvagers is a good control piece himself, you can recur spellbombs and EE all day. Æther Spellbomb is so underrated. Iona? Emrakul? NBD lol
I was rummaging through the tournament report websites and finally came across what you meant in your earlier post about bomberman having a good showing in vintage. dunno what caused that to suddenly explode in popularity.
i'm kind of pondering if couldn't try more devil's play in the deck as a spot removal. not just kill condition.
there is not shortage of small but annoying things for it to burn down when cast from hand.
delver, stoneforge, vendilion, thalia, pridemage, scavenging ooze.
pending on target were talking a 2 to 3cc average.

Yeah, It exploded in Vintage as some kind of Blue Control Deck. I am aware that Black Lotus + salvagers and Snapcaster mage is so retarded haha, and you have rest of P9 of course.
are they just going for aether spellbomb? draw as much as you want or keep field clear of possible blockers while you beat face?

Actually yes. Black Lotus allows you the luxury of keeping your hand. Therefore, you can literally control the board with Engineered Explosives, Draw into a healthy amount of counterspells, all while leaving your mana untapped. You win with snap/salvager aggro or JTMS. So by the end of your turn you should have black lotus, EE, Spellbomb online and filter your hand down to 6-7 counterspells lol
Problem with a legacy port, is that you have no Hand after infinite LED loop. Only thing you can replicate is the complete board control on your turn. This means that you would have strong game vs. everything except combo. Snap caster, Counterbalance or Chalice of the Void would have to almost be auto-includes to stop a combo deck, then either control them and win through attrition, or buy the time to find your P bomb, assuming you don't outright just Abomb or Chromatic Star into a P bomb.
coming from a dominate golden grahmans background the idea of having salvager go off without a infinite kill condition just seems a bit different to me.
but as you put it that board control does work.
if going this route for win con, my gut reaction is to run more aether spellbomb.
but i suppose 1 is enough with all the tutoring.
--------------------------------------
thought i just said salvagers with a specific card for a wincon might go against what control is trying to do. it occurs to me that labratory maniac might be a possible win condition here as well.

(auriok salvagers)
at this point we have half the combo Lion's eye diamond and Salvagers.
So that is the Bomber POD concept.

Thoughts? Also thinking, Faithless looting / Goblin Welder Shenannigans.

at 3 mana, flash in clump block, give tutor flash back and set up your next draw.
one thing i'm convienced that should be a staple for this deck if you were to run planeswalker back up kill would be to run an ensaring bridge as a go for broke move to stop aggro game 1.

I also want to evaluate my lands 22-23 seem too much/not enough?

if anything cut 1 land for 1 bridge.
as far as reworking enlightened tutor that has to come out of something else, if your gunna run it at all.
as far as cunning wish flash back goes, in EDH i've been using Mystic Retrieval for some crazy plays. that would work right out of the yard no need for snapper to be involved.
once the coast is clear, simply discard wish and retrieval to LED and mana ramp till you can pay for flash back and win.
also devil's play for that matter.

WBu salvagers could potentially work.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Faithless Looting.
Maybe Liliana of the Veil for a control build.
Iona? Emrakul? NBD lol
Also, unlike other GY bases combos, this gets around everything except maybe Extirpate / Planar Void / Leyline of the void

i'm kind of pondering if couldn't try more devil's play in the deck as a spot removal. not just kill condition.
there is not shortage of small but annoying things for it to burn down when cast from hand.
delver, stoneforge, vendilion, thalia, pridemage, scavenging ooze.
pending on target were talking a 2 to 3cc average.

Yeah, It exploded in Vintage as some kind of Blue Control Deck. I am aware that Black Lotus + salvagers and Snapcaster mage is so retarded haha, and you have rest of P9 of course.
Temporal Mastery could be a potential candidate as well.
I just think Bomber as a control deck in Legacy is under-explored.

all i see is jace and a few creatures.
like these lists for instance.
are they just going for aether spellbomb? draw as much as you want or keep field clear of possible blockers while you beat face?

Snap caster, Counterbalance or Chalice of the Void would have to almost be auto-includes to stop a combo deck, then either control them and win through attrition, or buy the time to find your P bomb, assuming you don't outright just Abomb or Chromatic Star into a P bomb.

but as you put it that board control does work.
if going this route for win con, my gut reaction is to run more aether spellbomb.
but i suppose 1 is enough with all the tutoring.
--------------------------------------
thought i just said salvagers with a specific card for a wincon might go against what control is trying to do. it occurs to me that labratory maniac might be a possible win condition here as well.
