Well I run 2 rips main and a third in the board (previously leyline of the void) and have not had any problems in the years I've been playing the deck. Having single card win conditions to supplement this also helps. I would probably err on not needing the 4th unless you expect heavy graveyard based decks. Most decks shouldn't care about rip unless you are going to win or it's of a minor cost to them to deal with.
2 blasts has again seemed correct for my lists life time. Red is a splash so I don't want to need it. The deck can reliably get the colours it needs, but I would rather have access to white as a priority. With most decks even splashing for blue though you should play at least 2.
Keg vs bomb really comes down to man lands. If you need to hit them keg, if not bomb.

I have this deck put together minus a working sideboard. Mostly weapon's list in his sig. I'll be taking it to the next legacy night once I can get some leylines lol. I'll report back with how it does. I know we have a constant mono blue omnishow player so i'm hoping to just drop humility and oblivion rings through SnT to stop their shenanigans for free.
Depending on his build you may also be able to beat him with Orim's chant. Access to enlightened tutor also can open up sideboard options for your meta.

If you run cast out over an O ring you can tutor and cycle to get Humility or whatever hate piece you want in response to snt. An orim's in response can stop the Omniscience draw engine for a turn as well, allowing your O ring or Cast out effect to take out the Omni without
them just winning by drawing a handful of cards in response tou your o ring cip trigger.

People with belligerent signatures are trying to compensate for something....
Well I ran Parfait last night, 20 something FNM. Went 4 and 0 to win, dropping a single game.
I wanted to play a deck with maindeck bin hate, my foil collection for my first love that I am foiling out (Stax) is just short and I have been ticking over nicely with Parfait this year with good results when I play it.
Usual list really, similar to Weapon xs, extra Peacekeeper over my usual two in the side, and now two Pyroclasm, dropping spirit of the labs and taking my flex slot.
Beat ub Reanimator, I suspected she was on this, but did not know. G1 easy ish, in that on the play Rip resolved. I t2 dropped a needle and named GB.
G2 Griss came out, Needle was forced, it hit 2 times but I had assembled l tax scrack combo and zuran.
I nearly scooped and failed to play 3cc answers preferring to develop mana and board to set up the Scrack combo. A good scrack got me to a hand of 1cc answers and a chance to scrack for one of two Karakas. To my surprise my first removal worked, it was clear her double activation had yielded little. The card supply from Scrack - L tax combo deals with the next threat (Titan). I resolve Rip, S and T wins it for me as she is nearly decked as I am holding a Helm...
R2 Maverick, pretty easy match up. G2 Blood Moon does work. G1 L tax combo is out, City of Traitors and Mox come out to accelerate into both Rip Helm combo bits in the same turn.
R3 dredge, t1 Rip,he does not scoop until Ghostly. G2 all my hate dies to Serenity and wear tear, but the CA is so much I just replay via Tutor and also reassemble the scrack combo. I think he scoops G2 as he runs out of removal (Peacekeeper survives Serenity anyway) and is on 1 life thanks to self damage and the now departed Cursed Scroll. Ghostly means he can't attack without dying. Had I laid Humility I could have finished it with Peacekeeper.
R4 Infect. G1 I won via two early swords, Nodes did work. I think I resolve a Moat and maybe Halo or Needle on the Inkmoth. G2 I have a 50 50 on a Cursed scroll to set up a winning position..... I lose it. His early spell pierce et al were great, his killing if a Land tax via counter was surprising but correct. His crop rotations did work both games.
G3 Cursed Scroll is the boss, but what really does it is is Spellskite. He does have 2 threats down 6 turns in a row as he literally top decks 6 monsters or cards that turn into monsters via the Xerox blue suite. I can only ever kill one, but I play this well, sequencing cards to always make my Scroll hit.
Congratulated myself on tight play in the tight match - I was loose against Maverick to the point of not attacking with a beast within token twice, the confidence of drawing 6 a turn and knowing you can't lose even if they drop a 20 20 does that. I was not so smug when I realise I did not board in Solemnity, a card I bring in vs burn to combo with unlike. What a tool....
Played a tournament tonight and did pretty well. I played WeaponX's BDI parfait list+sideboard.
Round 1- DnT
game one- I mulled to 5 and didnt draw into land while they ported and beat me down. nothing special there.
game 2- needle on vial and PtE/oblivion ring when necessary. I was able to turn 5 Rip/helm.
game 3- this is the only game I got the land tax/rack engine going in the whole tournament. kept their board clear as i could. chanted them to time walk them and give myself time to draw into what I needed. they prolonged the game by end stepping my helm with flickerwisp. helm/rip'd them out of the game after a wrath of god to make sure I wouldnt be dying to beat down.
round 2- mono Black reanimator worst game of the tournament.
game 1- he gets an early sire of insanity. I top deck Path and exile it. and we're in topdeck mode. I dont draw anything relevant and he wins the topdeck war.
Game 2- turn 2 sire of insanity. I draw into no removal or anything relevant and die to beat down.
Round 3 UR Sneak and Show
game one- turn one and two I dont have anything playable. He Show and tells omniscience and I show Oblivion Ring targeting omni. My next turn i draw humility and play pithing needle blindly naming sneak attack Since I remember him playing Mono blue Show and tell, and he had mentioned he was borrowing this deck from a friend for tonight so it wasn't the same list as before. Next turn he show and tells again and I show humility. I was able to helm/rip a few turns later.
all i could think to side in was pyroblast for omni and coucil for w/e target.
Game 2- I mull to 6 finding humility and wait for show and tell. He show and tells and plays Emrakul and I place humility. . We end up top decking for a few turns while he hits me with his 1/1 for a few turns until I find charblecher. I play it and over 3 turns I hit him for 3 damage then 2 and on my 3rd charbelcher targeting him I managed to hit 10 cards and the final being mountain for lethal. great because I wasn't able to have land tax hit the field due to spell pierces.
Turns out he has no relevant hate cards for my deck seeing as humility is fringe as hell in legacy. He was also very caught off guard by the charbelcher win condition lol.
Final round Player needed to head out and we agreed to split.
Turns out he was on Ad nauseum Tendrils. I kind of wish we got to play. I wanted to see how the match up would go pre/post sideboard.
Overall I really like the list so far. I'm going to stick with it unless I feel changes are needed. Only problems I ran into was not having lands when I had Moxes in hand or not drawing into relevant cards, but that happens.
Reanimator is not actually that easy anyway. The non blue versions running Chancellor can delay that RIP with the t0 and drop a sire or GB. They are very fast. Blue versions will most likely be able to close out the first removal spell post Grisselbrand via the card draw too, and possibly the second, or just reanimate Iona.
I run 2 karakas and a maze as part of the 18 land 5 moxen count, I find it makes the reanimator match easier in matches where they go off prior to RIP, even if it makes activating L tax a bit more thought intensive. I like them for bouncing Teeg in Maverick, too, but it is still not the cake walk that other bin decks like Dredge/Lands are.

If it keeps coming up in matchups I could start running a karakas or two in the deck. On the other hand we apparently had 3+ goblin players, 2-3 depths decks. 1 ad nauseam, a spanish inquisition, Dnt, Sneak and Show, a janky legacy UG deck (I don't think the poor guy won a single game) and I think 2 reanimators, Doomsday(this surprised me a lot I thought the deck would be nearly dead with the probe ban), and me on parfait. I think I got decently lucky with my pairings.
though overall pretty diverse meta for the night which suprised me. Sneak went exactly how I hoped it would lmao.
Reanimator and dredge were half of the reason I ran leyline of the void, but truthfully it was a concession to abrupt decay. It does make the mana a little weird if it's not free however, but it is still castable.
Helm is still good against reanimator without rip. Their deck turns it into a one card combo
Storm I find is about getting to turn 3. Bloodmoon and trinisphere, just as examples, show how badly we can gum up their plans. Same with chant. The problem is that it is possible for them to win before we do anything meaningful.

Yes survive past the 5 pc turn one win and I feel OK with chant in hand. I like to tutor for Runed Halo against storm, especially if they start with discard. You do need to know what they are on of course! T0 Leyline of S is not bad either...ha, ha. Rip is not bad, it puts doubt in their mind on those t2s as to whether they can go off without the bin.
Game 2...well that gives us the Canonist options too, as well as 4 Leylines.
One reason I run Ghostly is because of game 1 Storm, I often get the Halo, Leyline or Unlife down t2 but need to guard against tokens, and Moat costs 4.
Knowing what they are on really helps, as does winning the roll of course.

I have been looking at board options. I have been looking at games where there is a bit of control but they have null rod down, as happens with some grixis and bug lists, and winning is very hard as they can sandbag a couple of counters and protect it. In these cases I feel I need more cards that can win the game. In my meta as it goes to comp Rel the environ gets more blue, with various 3 colour control decks suddenly becoming more popular. I find these matches are OK, game one is good, but game two gets harder. In my last Rel comp I went mono b helm/Leyline, despite my previous excellent results with Parfait. I did well but would like to Rel comp with Parfait more often.
I am going back to an Elspeth in the 75, probably main as I can often get to 4 mana nowadays with the Cities of Traitirs and 5th mox.
I am also looking at Ghirapul Aether grid from the board. Null Rod proof and in the grindy games comes down with a lot of artifacts to power it. It has been excellent in testing, flexible board control and win con, although early it does little.
I like to keep blood moon in game 2, and the grid can take out annoying mana dorks too.
Has anyone tried it?
Null Rod seems very common in Grixis control and Delver. I have lost to it a couple of times simply running out of win cons with the game locked down.
I tried G. grid last night.
Against Infect I resolved it once, when I had Peacekeeper down. I laid a chrome mox with zero imprint. My opponent killed the untapped scroll rack with artifact kill in response, to reduce me to one untapped artifact, and frantically brainstormed and sylvaned for his single Submerge out to Peacekeeper and a land to cast it and got both, emptying his hand for lethal. With 6 artifacts down it would have been gg.
It did not get cast in my other matches.
Approach seems reasonable if I can make the game go long, I like the Grid idea as it can kill Jace etc. They could compliment each other. I don't often get to 7 mana though, but it seems worthy of consideration.
I had a mediocre night last night,2-2. I lost to tin fins, including one game with all his kill/bounce cards in the bin and his tutor and me only needing to rip or Tutor to stop them being cast again. I drew neither. In fact I battled Infect over 3 games and saw zero Swords, and Tin Fins without Rip or E Tutor. Some long games too. I have done well recently so it is probably fair enough.

been doing a lot of play testing at my Lgs, I keep running into the same situation in where scroll rack is in play, but absolutely no way to shuffle and dig deeper aside from holding onto your cards and digging 1 card deeper each turn (which is awful cause we need to be making plays).
Whether it's from the opponent removing tax or just ending up in a situation where you have no choice but to play more lands in order to make some plays just to stabilize somewhat. It feels bad and it happened multiple games tonight.
Brought to my attention by another player. we're strongly going for removing ivory tower from the list. Just about every game I've drawn it, i'd wish it were a different card. maybe Up the zuran orb count to 2. I feel like I don't see them in the hands I get and e tutoring for it feels like a waste at some points.
I also feel the deck needs to speed up at the expense of opening up some enemy hate cards. I'm tempted to try city of traitors and a small land package into the manabase. Probably karakas, Maze and cities. and possibly 1-2 arid mesa and 2 extra shuffle effects.
I'd also love to test a version of the deck with a blue splash, but I lack mindsculptors currently.
Never seen this deck in action. I would love to though!

Honestly tower is just such a strong low cost value card. It can buy you time without the resource loss associated with zorb. I think I have covered your concerns before so I can not touch on those right now unless required. I will suggest tithe as the shuffle effect of choice, it was why I originally had plateaus.

other night came up against round 1 goblins. won that one out. 2nd game got knocked down to one with trinisphere on field. got a zuran orb down to heal up and landed a charbelcher to kill their creactures under humility until they couldnt play anything and i could target them for the kill. they scooped early.
Rest of the rounds were straight up control and they didn't care for any life points gained unless they were coming in with mentor+ monks, otherwise I was jaced out of the game, While i did manage to remove planeswalkers etc, they still won out. I do realize now I probably gave my opponent a bit too much time to search/set up. but if i'm facing off against a lot of control decks i'd like to work on making some changes or learning the match up better.
oddly enough charbelcher did a lot of work. it came down more often than helm/RIP. It's a champ card.
I played against my friend who was on Parfait. I used Sneak & Breach and I can only assume that he kept bad hands because I never saw anything but lands hit the board on his side. How does Parfait stop a T1/2 win against something like that? I'd like to build it, but I don't like that it can get blown out early to combo.

pithing needle on sneak attack is probably the one of the few things we could do. otherwise parfait has tough time against super fast combo.
show and tell is much easier since you can play O-ring or humility off of their show and tell and shut everything down immediately.
Parfait is like most decks to fast combo, you're probably going to lose to the nut draw. The longer the game the stronger parfait gets. Paths and chants are going to be the most likely answers early on.

Did some more testing and came up with Charbelcher being able to send cards to the bottom if you're in a "no shuffle" effect situation while rack is in play. it's expensive but at least you can target something and still send X cards to the bottom and start seeing some fresh cards. not optimal but it might help to keep in mind if the situation comes up.
I run a couple of Karakas and a maze. These help vs sneak n show's early shenanigans.
As said dopping Humility or O ring effects off Show is strong, and Tutoring a needle on Sneak. As also said above, game goes long it gets easier, but my 18 lands include those 3 non basics that help a lot because it gives me two more outs to straight showed Emrakul. Maze is obviously ok vs Grisselbrand and not Emmy.
The non basics dissappear under Moon but that is in my hands...the cost of running them is low.
I played more tonight and charbelcher is still a champ. People are too keen on knowing the possible helm wincon when RIP hits play and it's won me less games than the good ol cannon. It's hard to reliably get into play from what i've experienced. for local meta reasons i might try to run some alternate cards to throw people off. Not sure as what to try. I'll keep them in as they are for now
So far I don't miss ivory tower mainboard. currently running nahiri mainboard for the filtering and permanent control.
i was suggested trying out council's judgements in place of o-rings mainboard. but that takes away from o-ring being tutorable. So i'm probably passing on that.
As much as I like path to exile. I'm also contemplating swapping for StP. Last few legacy Fnms, ramping my opponent's mana hasn't ended well for me since they start going bigger sooner with their control plan and gain advantage.

other night came up against round 1 goblins. won that one out.
It's a champ card.

pithing needle on sneak attack is probably the one of the few things we could do. otherwise parfait has tough time against super fast combo.
show and tell is much easier since you can play O-ring or humility off of their show and tell and shut everything down immediately.
