Yes, I like Writ. I'm at 2x now. To go to three, I have to drop a Jitte (currently 3x). I've found Cloud of Faeries to be really useful, so I'm reluctant to decrease that and I'm at 2x Mistblade as well.
We'll see. I really find Jitte to just completely win games every now and then. And, otherwise, it forces a lot of misplays on the part of your opponent. Even for Writ, I'd hate to reduce that count.

Playing: UB Infect or whatever Ali Aintrazi brews in Standard, Reanimator in Legacy and not playing Fail Format.
I have an upcoming Legacy tournament and was wondering if this deck is actually competitive enough to play at the tournament as well as at a GP legacy side event
I am new to legacy so what do you all think of the deck???
My buddy mog runs it down at M-Den and he's placed top 3 a few times, also he's run it down at Misty Mountain and won 1st place consistently for about 4 months straight.
b2b is for decks that like to run a lot of non-basics. My deck only runs four and like you mentioned I can ninjutsu them, so b2b doesn't really me that much, plus if I don't need it I can pitch it with FoW.
I used to run some dual lands for green, but I've found that Aether vial is sufficient enough to get both tarmogoyf and trygon out - and because I run b2b its better that I just use vial and keep those two boarded.
The only thing I've been if-y on is the zephyr sprite, I think looter il-kor might be better because of draw/shadow and when you add Jitte into the mix, he's really deadly.
Zephyr Sprite > Looter il-kor mainly because you can really hurt your oponent more if you have a T1 Zephyr Sprite, T2 Cloud of Faeries, and save mana for a Spellstutter countering up to 3 on your opponents T2. That can seal the deal in alot of games where you are trying to beat out their tempo. Loot at elves for example. The cances of them playing a T1 Lannowar and a T2 Champion are huge! this trumps that big time and slows them way down with plays of that sort. Giving you that extra turn also lets you Ninjitsu you sprite on T3 with Mistblade Shinobi bouncing their T1 back to their hand and giving you back your Spellstutter to play on your opponents T3!!

well you aren't gaining any real tempo doing that. I would do so if I were racing them and the extra body was needed, like you have a ninja in hand or another Spellstutter.
I play Spellstutter as a counterspell and almost never as a creature. If there is no other ninja target then i might drop the Spellstutter for a ninjitsu target but that is usualy a rare thing for me mostly because i rather not let the opponent know i have on in hand.

I've seen this deck before. I strongly suggest splashing green for tarmogoyf and k-grip as that is what the local's do at my shop. And they aren't playing terrible crap like zephyr sprite to abuse ninja's the only ninja's they run are the ninja of the deep hours simply because it's amazing CA. But I strongly suggest splashing green for goyf and k-grip. It makes the deck a whole lot better especially since all of your creatures are tiny and goyf is usually huge. And if you do splash green I suggest you run noble hierarch as a 3-of it is very good in here.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Barl, that's an entirely different deck at that point.
Like I've said before, FNS is all about abusing Ninjas and Faeries. Running only 4 Ninjas or dropping your Faerie count goes against the theme and idea of the deck.
I won round 1 of the 10th MTGsal tournement the other day. Jitte won the entire game for me, again. Also, the shuffler is lame.

My friend mog is running has started running a Trusted Advisor in this deck as a 2 of... played vs. it and it was rather annoying when he would constantly return a spellstutter or mistblade. -________-;
Eh I don't see the advisor as too necessary. Ninjitsu fulfills the function better and has other relevant abilities to go along with it (bounce / card advantage), the advisor just seems tacked on as extra exploitation.

Seriously, what about this strikes you as remotely worthy of discussion?
oh I understand. I just always felt a little stretched for mana with the deck. Wasn't sure if popping mine off was the best idea. Since I feel like most decks now a days run wasteland, they already tend to blow up all my manlands. It sounds like you've seen success though. Definitely will have to test them.

I'm not so sure on this. In a recent rules change (the one before the big one last time, killing combat damage stacking etc.) wizards changed the 0 damage rule. Your creature now actually deals zero damage, instead not dealing damage. This would imply jitte get's triggered.
It doesn't trigger, and nothing's changed (in that regard). Zero damage isn't damage dealt, and doesn't trigger jitte.
Alright so I've finally got my faeninjastill maindeck assembled (minus jitte for now, which is being substituted with sword of light and shadow until I find some) and am moving on to the sideboard.
Aside from 4x submerge which is a godsend against any deck running the 'goyfy, what do you guys value in the SB? Maybe provide an SB list if possible?

pithing needle is another card to consider, but it looks pretty solid. I second the relic over tormod's crypt for anti goyf/ cantripping. I've had hugggggeeeee success with back to basics. Its a pretty rough card against some tough match ups like zoo.

This is the list I have been using on MWS.
I've been preparing for a tournament where I expect a lot of combo and disruption-style control (trinistax and the like)
how has mindbreak trap been working for you? I'd probably run stifle there. I feel like its a more useful counter. I'd also probably not the fetches, getting your lands stifled isn't going to be worth it the very small amount of thinning. You are running a tight mana base as it is.
also I'd only run 2 writ of passage. I say cut one and add another mistblade shinobi mainboard. That should help against aggro.

Thanks for spiderboy4 of High~Light_Studios for the kick ass avatar.
Thanks for DarkNightCavalier of HotPS for the exceptional signature.
Downside though is its 3 mana for a fragile creature, and the deck really stretches its mana I feel like.
Has anyone tested it?
