I tested it, I thought it was a good idea as well. But i quickly realized when you cascade into it, you get this feel bad moment, because hitting brainstorm/visions/anything else generates immediate card advantage, library doesnt.
In a regular (non Shardless non Delver) configuration...considering it needs 4 mana to activate just to destroy the most common creatures (Agent, Deathrite, Stoneforge, Delver, Bob, Mom, KotR (without lands in yard) Geist...only to name a few...probably not the best choice. If your going to cast it for 4 mana, why not just run Damnnation, or Massacre in the side.
And definitely not in Shardless BUG.
I am very new to this deck, but aggro has given me some issues as many others have stated.
Ive tested running damnation as more of a meta call for me. There is a lot of maverick, affinity, zoo creature type decks. Sometime i dont get the chance to stabilize against them
Massacre. Seriously good against all the white based aggro decks and Maverick. Also, possibly Dread of Night. Engineered Plague calling human. This deck doesn't lose to those bologna sandwich decks. Game one, ok your mirran crusader, whatever got me. Game two? Not so much lol.

I agree with the above post. Look into Massacre, it worked amazingly for me, but was very much crap vs decks that do not run white. The majority of the decks you listed run white. Or you could look into splashing red for Whipflare, probably won't help you against Affinity though. Damnnation...well its Damnnation. If it works in your meta, great, but I'd rather cast something free and still have a turn to do things.

I too will recommend Massacre, great vs maverick, zoo, playable vs elves (if youre on the play), and even can be used against stoneblade from time to time. also, if you can stomache waiting a turn for results, pernicious deed has its place as well
Just some feedback....massacre has been downright stupid in testing lol. It ****s all over maverick, which has been a huge huge match-up problem for me.
Whipflare is a terrible option for my meta. I still need efficient ways to handle affinity without a color shift. I don't see myself splashing red. Damnation has been just okay at best. I think im gonna go back to running deed in some combination of the 75 and I am definately going to SB massacre. Too funny...
I would love to build this deck at some point. I don't have the money for it currently, but if anybody could give me a really good starter list to focus on, that'd help a lot.

Its an awesome deck that i do see myself play more often.
Although im not very satisfied with the sideboard, what can people suggest me to do with my board? I want tot add notion thieves to it, against opposing jaces (since i cant destroy them with my own jace anymore)
I started with BUG a few weeks ago and last week a local player gave me a hint i did not see in this thread (at least not on the last 6 pages): Life from the loam and Cabal Pit rocks. I played like 60 Games on local tournaments and on MTGO and this synergie crushed every fair deck that i met (DnT, Maverick, Jund, Merfolk, Junk... etc.).
They simple not had a solution for this recurring removal and i had so much combining this with Mishra's Factory and Wasteland.
If you are already running a Life from the loam give the Cabal Pit a chance!

Cabal pit is a land, and therefore, barring some sort of shenanigans, colorless.
If you're running life from the loam and constantly recurring it, it'll give you 3 cards per turn, which should be more than enough to feed Deathrite and stay in Threshold

Lands are colorless? I thought cause this one uses a black ability and taps for black mana that it was therefore black..
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

Not the case at all. In general, lands are colorless. They can *produce* colors, but they themselves are not colorless.
Oh, I see, thank you for that clarification I was confused cause I used to play with Dryad Arbor and the ruling said that Dryad is a Green creature... I know that was probably because Dryad Arbor was a creature, but still

Let's assume you spend the same amount of mana in both cases.
Damnation destroys all creatures.
Black sun's zenith gives all creatures 2 -1/-1 counters.
It's a rather large difference.
Damnation is expensive because it's used in a lot of places, and because it was only printed in one set at rare, and it's a set that wasn't opened much, so the supply is lower.

Trade thread under reconstruction. Because you can't spell slaughter without laughter.
How do you guys board against Combo Elves? I want to keep my blue count up since FOW is strong but every card I find myself wanting to board out is blue. JTMS isn't good. Baleful Strix is lackluster at best. Visions is OK but slow. Agent actually seems like the better of the choices since he can at least cascade into discard, removal and golgari charm while not having to worry about an accidental cascade into flusterstorm since flusterstorm is pretty worthless against Elves and doesn't get boarded in. So what do you guys keep of those cards and what do you take out? I'm using Gerry T's stock deck list if this helps at all. Thanks in advance.
Take away elf army: take away combo.
Take away glimpse: take away combo.
Take away everything: take away combo.
I know you want to keep your blue count high, but thats not what i feel this match up is about, this match up is about getting more value for your cards than they get for theirs. You want to wipe their board with a single cast. You can turn 3 massacre or engineered plague via deathrite or consistent land drops, which gerry's list should have, and normally that should win you the game.
I see a lot of decks playing with balefull strix...
other then after cascade giving you a card, and a removal to tarmogoyf... what are the reasons this guy is being played?
He doesn't just deal with goyf but is a great answer to Insectile Aberration, batterskull, KoTR, Vend Clique, Geist of Saint Traft, Griselbrand and even Emrukal. He pitches to FoW. If you ever want to sideboard a Jitte his evasion is great. He is simply pure value. He stops most all threats dead in their tracks and allows you to continue your game plan of grinding your opponent out through card advantage. At worst, he takes a removal to the face and you still are left with an extra card. It's small increments of advantage like this that really pile up and make this deck what it is.
It mostly depends on your meta. Without knowledge of that, I'd say you should try to cut down on your discard. You're running 8 pieces of it main board, which seems excessive and runs the risk of both dead draws and worthless cascades late game. Jace bounce into discard is a powerful play late game but that is about the best thing you can do with it.
If you are in a meta that requires a lot of that discard I suggest you move a chunk of it to sideboard which will obviously require you to reanalyze your 15 and see what you could afford to let go based on your meta.
Also I'm very surprised you aren't running the full 4 Ancestral Visions and even more surprised you aren't running the full 4 abrupt decay. Ancestral Visions may be a meta call for you, I'm not sure. Personally I can't imagine going less than four. Abrupt decay at 4 really is a must for this deck. One of its weakness is a low count of removal. Liliana helps a little but is inconsistent against decks that can flood the board with creatures like ours can. Again, this may be a meta call. It seems like your deck list is built to face down a lot of combo... in which case... baleful strix isn't the card for you anyway.
Also I really think your land base needs another look. 21 lands is realllllly pushing it, especially when you are running 4 wastelands (colorless), 3 basics and 7 fetches. If you are running basics I assume you are either trying to dodge blood moon or Tempo decks and this mana base seems really vulnerable to either one. This deck has a lot of two color requirements and 3 basics with a small number of fetch lands to fix your mana could leave you color screwed. I've found this out the hard way with basics and I was still running 10 fetch lands and 2 wastelands.
Sorry I hope you don't think I'm being too harsh in my criticism. Just giving you my 2 cents based on play testing and tournament runs and if it helps you great. If your meta and play testing tells you differently then disregard what you need to.
22 Lands is pretty much the norm for Shardless BUG, and pretty much mandatory due to Wasteland.
There is also a rather large 'core' of the deck...things that very rarely change because we want to abuse the badassness of the following cards.
Starting with the playsets of DRS, Goyf, Agent; followed by a playset of Ancestral Visions (arguably the decks most powerful tool, so you want to abuse this), Brainstorm (for obvious reasons) and then Abrupt Decay is also more often than not a 4 of card. Generally you'll want 4 removal spells anyway in a deck.
I'd say...these numbers are generally meta friendly. I mean sure that's my $0.02 but look at any other list and we see the same numbers. Abuse these cards.
So ya, the top 3 changes I recommend, +1 land (22 total) and +1 A Vision. The Abrupt Decay is up to you, but I also recommend +1 that. A pair of Hymn's, although amazing, is the likely target you want to get rid of for space, and if you do want the 4th Decay maybe a Thoughtseize. All depends on your meta of course. I know with those changes your list seems ...well like any other list, but I know for sure you want 4 AVisions. If it is a situation where your planning on sideboarding them out every match because your meta, Shardless BUG shouldn't be the deck your playing.
I'm actually more surprised by you not looking into Creeping Tar Pit. The land has never let me down, and I'm sure many on the forum will support that.
Your sideboard card Nights of Souls' Betrayal seems a bit expensive when you could run Engineered Plague. Sure its limited, but usually when your -1-1 something its the same type (Elves, Goblins, Elemental Tokens, Humans)
