I'm thinking about playing this deck for an event in about two weeks. Is there any place for Magus of the Moon/Blood Moon in the 75? I have 3 and 4 that are begging to be used.

The question is, how would you change the manabase to get it to work for you?

The lone fact that it turns Dryad Arbor from a Green Creature to a Mountain is reason enough not to run in this deck.
The lone fact that it turns Dryad Arbor from a Green Creature to a Mountain is reason enough not to run in this deck.
It's just a 1/1 colourless Land Creature - Dryad Mountain. It's just not a green creature on the battlefield, and doesn't produce that oh-so special green mana. So yeah, it's much less useful with a moon in play
The loss of a green creature is a big deal, but otherwise are there times where having a Moon effect would be game breaking. Maybe its just a different deck altogether with Magus.
Is Llawan necessary in the board? I'd rather be running Grim Lavamancers honestly since they cover more matches.
Is Submerge necessary to fight Zoo/Junk/Maverick/Bant?
I'll try to come up with a list from theory and see if there's any opinions on what I should change.

moon just seems werid
llawan is droped now because merfolk got dismember it's no longer game breaking vs them anymore

It's not, because we have Progenitus. We don't have to drop a fattie and then try and lock our opponents out of mana with a Moon effect, because we can just NO in Proggy and win.
Llawan is not necessary, Lavamancer is much better for the Fish matchup anyways.
Submerge isn't necassry, but definetly VERY nice against them, so if you have a lot of those in your meta, Submerge would be validated.
And the reason Dryad is so good is because you can fetch him with a Fetchland and then cast NO with him next turn. Having him be a Mountain is just so bad for us

I would like to fit Fire/Ice in there. Is it useful at all right now?
It's extremely useful, but the only cards I could see you removing for it are Grim Lavamancer. And I would only do that if your playing against a lot of control decks.
I would personally play 1 Dryad and a Forest (personal preference, some people like the insurance of 2 Dryads) and either remova a Lavamancer for a 4th Vendilion Clique or Eternal Witness.
But again, those are catered to my playstyle, as I've won more games than I care to admit with Clique.
They handle SFM in resp to activation, they pitch, they hit hard with Noble and they let you put Prog back to your lib, they are perfectly fine. But 3 are fine as well.
Anyone took note of my mentioning of Animar? He is hard to remove, chumps like a pro, takes care of Batterskull and can get quite annoying over time.
Maybe just a meta call or cute idea, dunno.
The creature count is a little low to use Animar well isn't it?
Flusterstorm is straight up bad unless your playing it against Storm.
Spell Pierce is good, and you could replace Daze with if you like. I played Spell Pierce in the Daze slot in Bant. However I can tell you I did not like that change, and lost a lot of games where Daze would've been saving grace.
Misdirection/Divert are really good SB options, but nothing more. Against decks like Bant, or Maverick, or Merfolk, these cards do nothing. At most it's a Counterspell, but Daze or Spell Pierce would be better suited for that job anyways.
So if anything, try Spell Pierce, it's warranted, I just don't prefer it.
How is Scryb Ranger in this deck? I know early builds ran it and Maverick uses him well but does it help in any match ups? I might have trouble finding 4 Goyf so I am looking for good replacements.
It's an option, but my preferred grave hate is Relic, so I wouldn't run him.
A miser ooze sounds really interesting, I'm going to have to try that.
I still advocate 4 Vendilion Clique though ;). He just straight up wins most of the time.
True, I forgot about Relic, which is what I was planning to use as well.
So at this point I am pretty much set for this deck for the 23rd. My only problem is 4 Goyf, so at this point I am thinking 1 Skinshifter, 1 Scryb Ranger, 2 Goyf might be reasonable. Scavenging Ooze is interesting but I think I would still run Relic as a precaution since Ooze can be good regardless of the opponent's strategy.
Worst case scenario, I'll bring out a Vore and hope I don't get punished. I except to see a lot of fetchland based decks so it might be reasonable.
With Eternal Witness, you get a NO and a green creature all in one, all you need is 4 mana.
It's a tutorable back up plan. You don't need it to do anything but hit play really.
As for that scenario with Scryb, while cute as it may be, sending out the scryb like that is just asking for it to die, because you will need everything to go right for you to make that happen.
Yep i aggree on scryb ranger. Not that i ever thought casting NO with just 1 land and hierarch is silly. I was pointing out how huge mana booster she can be and she certainly plays different role that tarmogoyf/ooze/skinshifter.
hmm.. i like your way of thinking about Eternal Witness... that makes me want to ditch all counters that i dont like: Daze / spell Pierce / flusterstorm /etc i have been trying and just play 4 zenith and good tutor package. Thought i really need a good plan vs combo after that.
Spell Pierce is still good against combo, but can easily come from the board.
And E-Witness has been a techy play ever since another RUG player mentioned it too me at CMT. It's what he beat me with lol.
I've actually flat out won games I had no business winning, and that happens more than just corner cases, so I would much rather play 4 Bolts.

Against Maverick it does quite well getting rid of large early threats, especially in response to an equip activation, all for free.
Also, ever had an opponent go turn 1 GSZ for Dryad Arbor with this card in your hand? Ya, it's not pretty.
It does warrant testing if your meta calls for it, and is a particularly strong card, so I wouldn't be so dismissive about it.

Don't forget about removing threats in response to Stoneforge Mystic's trigger, a Knight of the Reliquary activation or an activated Fetchland.

Yeah I can see that.
In any case, here's the list I had in mind:
4 Noble Hiearch
4 Tarmogoyf
1 Progenitus
3 Vendilion Clique
4 Brainstorm
3 Daze
4 Force of Will
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Mental Misstep
3 Green Sun's Zenith
4 Natural Order
2 Ponder
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Scalding Tarn
1 Taiga
3 Tropical Island
3 Volcanic Island
4 Wooded Foothills
2 Dryad Arbor
2 Relic of Progenitus
2 Grim Lavamancer
2 Ancient Grudge
2 Pyroblast
2 Red Elemental Blast
2 Umezawa's Jitte
3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor

Isn't 4 Vendilion Clique too much? They need to die be recast or do they do a lot of blocking duty?
