Playing Golgari splashing red for Augur Spree. My opponent is at 21 and I am at 4. He's been beating me down all game and has now just played a Grove of the Guardian. He has plenty of creatures to tap to create the token. An Azorius Justicar, 2 1/1 flying tokens, Gatecreeper Vine, and a Seller of Songbirds.
I have a Trestle Troll, a Giant Spider...er...Towering Indrik, a Korozda Guildmage, and a Wild Beastmaster. And a load of mana. 6 swamps, a mountain, a forest, a promenade, a Golgari guildgate, and a Rogue's Passage. In my hand is a Launch Party, and an Augur Spree. The only relevant thing in my graveyard is a Dreg Mangler that I can scavenge. End of his turn, I have all my mana available, but I have to be able to kill him on my next turn.
So here's what I did. Eot, used the Guildgate's pump ability on Trestle Troll twice, making it a 3/6. Then used the sac ability to make 6 1/1 saps.
On my turn, I scavenged the Mangler onto the Beastmaster, making it a 4/4, then used the Guildgate's pump to make it a 5/5, and then, with my final 3 mana, used the Augur Spree to make it a 9/1. Then attacked with everything for 91. Thank god he didn't have a Druid's Deliverance.
If someone claims that they are an unlynchable, unkillable, octa-voter, with 4 daykills and 6 doc-protects, then technically lynching that person solely based on his claim would be gaming the mod, but I would be just fine doing that.
I was playing a Rakdos deck against a Selesnya deck in sealed. I played a turn 3 Splatter Thug and turn 4 Dead Reveler. My opponent just played lands for several turns and has 1 creature by turn 4. On turn 5 he plays a 2nd creature. Turn 6 he plays Grove of the Guardian as his 6th land. I Auger Spree a creature on his turn and he doesn't activate the grove. Two turns later he finally activates it but does it on his turn tapping his only 2 creatures. I play the Traitorous Instinct that I have been holding the whole game to steal his 8/8 token and swing for 16.
Here's my Team Sealed PWND stories from GP San Jose.
First is my win:
I'm playing a pretty bad pile of cards- my main gameplan was "play a wall, stall for days and removal creatures, and resolve Rakdos's Return and Utvara Hellkite." Mercurial Chemister fit into this game plan well.
Anyways, here's the board:
My opponent has a Isperia and another large flyer thats enchanted with Righteous Authority. He's bashing for a ton each turn. I'm dead next combat, but he's down to 4 cards in his library.
My board: Doorkeeper, Mercurial Chemister, Lobber Crew. 6 lands.
I needed to draw exactly a land and another defender to win...and thats exactly what the Chemister gave me. The trigger from Authority is, by the way, not a may.
A win an opponent had against my team:
My teammate has a Vraska in play that she's been +1'ing with not action from the opposing unleashed Gore-House Chainwalker. She ultimates Vraska, and drops a Golgari Decoy that same turn. Guarenteed win, right?
When she goes to attack the next turn, the opponent plays an overloaded Chemister's Trick to force them all to attack and not have any of the Assassin's do damage. My teammate shrugs and drops a Desecration Demon. The opponent then proceeds to Traitorous Instinct one of the Assassin's and sacrifices his Chainwalker to tap the Demon...
When she goes to attack the next turn, the opponent plays an overloaded Chemister's Trick to force them all to attack and not have any of the Assassin's do damage. Complete boss. That's what I read this thread for. Too bad it was against you.
It's turn 6. So far I played turn 4 Bloodfray Giant, turn 5 Sluiceway Scorpion, and turn 6 Rix Maadi Guildmage. My opponent played a turn 1 Bellows Lizard, turn 2 Civic Saber, turn 4 Sewer Shambler. I attack with the giant and scorpion, making the life totals 11-6. My opponent attacks with both creatures for 4 damage with 5 mana open. I don't block with the guildmage. He then overloads a Dynacharge, casts another Dynacharge on his unblockable shambler, then casts Giant Growth on the shambler.
Good grief, that's ridiculous. But your opponent totally deserved it for siding in Pithing Needle.

I'm playing a pretty aggressive rakdos deck against populate. He's at 4, I'm at 26 off of a ragmutt. I attack with four guys into his unimpressive team of centaur token and axebane guardian. I also have a stab wound in hand for the final 4 damage, but I would prefer to just end the game right here and now if I can.
here's how it occurs:
I attack, he plays rootborn defenses into druid's deliverance to fog me, wrath my team, and make two tokens...but he's still at 4 and I have stab wound.
I play stab wound on his guy - he SNAP eot has immediately dramatic rescue to go to 6. So, I draw another stab wound and annihilating fire, thinking, this is pretty good - I should be able to get him here with this combo. He draws for the turn, plays centaur healer to go to 9. However, stab wound + incinerate is still gonna get him here unless he has something else pretty good.
His draws: 4/4 rhino chant into growing ranks into kill you.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he had the stone nuts there...
Well, here's a similar story: in a swiss draft, Rakdos against Selesnya. (coincidence?)
I got him dead next turn. He top deck collective blessing. Second game, I got him dead soon. He top deck centaur healer into collective blessing. Twice spanked! I was sure I had stopped playing AVR!
Last night I was in the finals of a Swiss queue with my Izzet aggro deck featuring double pursuit of flight, bluster squall, teleportal, and the actual boss man himself, Niv-Mizzet. First game the azorius deck won as I waited for ~6 turns to find some ay to get my creatures through. Second game blood fray giant+ cobblebrute + teleportal takes him out quick.
Third game is going good. He manages to 'stabilize' behind a tower drake enchanted with ethereal armor and knightly valor, which I actually cannot deal with. Life totals are 13-8 for him and he has 7 power on board between the tower drake and a bird token. My board is stealer of secrets, pursuited, unleashed splatter thug, and cobblebrute. My hand consists of lobbed crew and bluster squall, so I win next turn with the line of lobber crew into end of turn bluster squall. I go with that plan. His turn, he plays chronic flooding on one of my lands. I laugh, think I have got it and F2 a couple of times. Get to declare blockers and realize I die by exactsies.
Extra rub in - if I had blustersqualled his attackers like I should have, I would have drawn a pursuit of flight to get over his blocker and kill him by exact damage a different way.
Was beating my opponent down until he dropped an Armada Wurm and had managed to populate once so he had the Wurm and 2 5/5 tokens in play.
Had him down to 4 life after hitting one of the tokens with an Isperia's Skywatch that he proceeded to use Rites of Reaping on the next turn and swung with his 2 un-detained wurms taking me down to 5.
I untapped, played an island, had a total of 5 Islands, 3 mountains, an Izzet Signet and a leashed Splatter Thug in play. Cast Thoughtflare hoping for the best, and drew Inaction InjunctionEssence Backlash and some other stuff. Sadly I had already played a land so I was 1 mana short from casting the injunction, activating the keyrune and swinging for the win.
I was about to conceed when I thought, I have this backlash, if he gets greedy and casts a creature I might still be able to kill him. He has 1 card in hand and a heap of land in play.
I pass the turn, he untaps, casts a Sluiceway Scorpion, I pause for a moment because countering it wont help me anyway so I let it resolve.
So there I was, at two life. I'm playing Azorius against Rakdos, and after a long and difficult struggle I was almost ready to stabilize at seven mana on the table with a Righteous Authority on an Archon of the Triumvirate, but only two white mana on the board and an Angel of Serenity in hand. My opponent has a Carnival Hellsteed, Spawn of Rix Maadi, and a Rakdos Shred-freak on the table and I can't stop all the damage coming in. My only hope is to draw a plains. So draw my card for the turn, nothing. My last hope is to draw a plains off the Righteous Authority. And sure enough, right off the top I rip a plains!!!
So I threw the plains on the table, proudly tapped all the white mana and four islands for my Angel of Serenity and remove all my opponents creatures from the battlefield!!! A few turns later and I would win my first match, vs an especially difficult opponent.
So I get my opponent down to one (ONE!!!) life, when she draws a card and stops. Her board is completely devoid ofcreatures, but she takes some time to look at the board, then takes some time to look at the card she drew. "What could it be???" I wondered, but then a smile crept onto her face.
"I cast Rakdos Charm. Each creature deals one damage to its controller." Had I left even a single creature of hers on the table it would have resulted in a draw, but all I can do is watch helplessly as my own archon and Angel tag team me with a one-two punch square in the gut.

Evil is boring. The universe is friendly. Life is on your side. Joy is your birthright. Cynicism is idiotic. Fear is a bad habit. Despair is lazy. In fact, all of creation wants you to succeed. Act as if the universe is a prodigious miracle created for your amusement and illumination. Assume that secret helpers are working behind the scenes to assist you in turning into the gorgeous masterpiece you were born to be. . . Life always gives you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
I was about to conceed when I thought, I have this backlash, if he gets greedy and casts a creature I might still be able to kill him. He has 1 card in hand and a heap of land in play.

This play is only made possible by the epic misplay of my opponent, but it made me so happy I just had to share.
I've been mana screwed all game. My board consist of Ogre Jailbreaker with +2/+2 from a scavenged creature (and no Gate). It is holding off my opponent's board of Golgari Decoy and Slum Reaper. We are both top-decking at this point. Opponent then drops a Pack Rat.
I'm doomed, right?
I draw a blank. Opponent draws. Here's the misplay. He does not make another Pack Rat. Why, I don't know. Instead he taps out to scavenge a Drudge Beetle onto his Golgari Decoy, and still does not attack.
EDIT: It occurs to me that even if my opponent does make another Pack Rat there, I still can kill them all with that card. What he has to do is hold his card and make the new Pack Rat after blockers are declared.
Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
That's outstanding, and made so much better by the fact your opponent deserved it!
Here's a much sadder story - my opponent didn't deserve what he got. At the end of my turn four (on the draw) my Rakdos deck discards for the second time (Pursuit of Flight, Traitorous Instinct). He already has Tower Drake and Hover Barrier down and I imagine he's mentally levelling the match score at 1-1.
Thing is, he can't see my hand. (See first attachment.) When the match ended, I didn't show him my final hand either. It would have been cruel. It contained, of course:
PS. Footnote for my clanmates, no, this was not the four Stab Wound deck I posted yesterday. This was today's draft. Apparently I'm good at picking easy queues this week!
Edit: Ugh - due to the forum rules on double posts and the fact that nobody's used this thread since my previous post I'll have to edit this one in. Make an effort, you lot! :-P
Finals of the draft... after a tight race thanks to double Dynacharge on the same turn from my opponent killing both my Lobber Crews and my Voidwielder I'm one point short of the win. Or so it appears. In reality, I have Teleportal for my two creatures. However, my opponent's deck is full of removal and with two cards in hand he probably has removal. I have Cancel, but only seven mana.
(See second attachment.) As soon as I tap two for a non-Overloaded Teleportal my opponent - who is a good player - probably guesses what's going on. (And yes, he had Golgari Charm.)

i'm playing izzet vs some BGW monstrosity. i'm behind on life totals maybe 16-7 (idr exactly), trying to stabilise. he has a trestle troll, axebane guardian and gatecreeper vine in play; i have guttersnipe, arrested bloodfray giant and stealer of secrets, and i have essence backlash mana open.
Posting a collection of funny (more or less) screenshots from Modo (up to four years old), have fun
Some of them I don't really get, but it's all worth it for that Molten Psyche!

I had a board with only azorious justicar and martial law on the field and 6 mana open while my opponent playing rakdos has a spawn of rix maadi and a bloodfray giant.
He attacks with spawn (cause bloodfray giant is detained by the martial law), i then flash in hussar patrol and cast swift justice twice with all of my remaining mana. He just scooped afterwards and said "sure why not, thats realistic"
i'm not sure why on earth your opponent scooped there. he has 6 cards, you have none, and he doesn't even lose his spawn.
He does lose his Spawn (double Swift Justice), but yeah. Seemed premature to say the least.
Also, SorinsVengeance, that screenshot is ridiculously large, and for those of us with normal-sized monitors, it's a pain to view. I suggest that you reduce your screenshots' size to something like 1024x768 when you upload more in the future.
Edit: lol, its dimensions are 2789x1743. Yeaaah
