In another game where it was the finals game 3, I faced down a monstrous Nessian Asp and Ill-Tempered Cyclops for incoming lethal, this card timewalked him n tempo'ed me into 4-0.
I can't believe anyone is excited about this card. It is absolutely unplayable. I wouldn't even play her in LIMITED. Easily the worst walker printed since the green elf one. Absolutely terrible.
i did a two headed giant prerelease and it's difficult to select a mvp cause i had a kind of beast deck... i won of course.
I played Red Black and the deck featured 1 Underworld cerberus, 1 Hytonia the cruel, 1 thoughtseize, 1 hero's downfall, 1 nighthowler, 1 abhorrent overlord (the promo), plus a ton of removals , ten if am correct.
The best cards were obviously hytonia and the cerberus, but i only had 1 gray merchant of asphodels.... if it was in multiples it would have been surely the best card because in two headed is effect is doubled
Also consider that my team mate was on blue/green and had 2 curses of the swine.... our opponents hated us as always, removals are the best cards in limited
Signalling is like farting: it's a natural thing that helps people avoid being where you are, and if you try to do it deliberately, things turn to crap fast.

I hereby found the American Chapter of the Zealots of Semantics. All glory to The Curmudgeon.
Every time I dropped this bad boy my low power/high toughness creatures will have the ability to race with whatever my opponents throw at me (though to be honest I did not meet any Big Green decks this pre-release)
Also it helps that I was able to rebuy my Gray merchant of Asphodels ,Abhorrent Overlord,Disciple of Phenaxs. I never lost a single game after cracking this whip!
arbor colossus and the threaten/scry spell won me most of my games. going monstrous on curve and as an instant like that is just insane. Huge fan of burnished hart, too. my buddy and I each 3-1'd at my store. He had huge success with Boon Satyr and double ordeals on turn 4.
After two flights, I found a couple of cards that really impressed me:
Satyr Voyager - Theros' Ley Druid is just amazing in the right deck. Play him in a green-based deck with some decent midrange/lategame creatures, and you're set. Also, he helps you splash some bombs that have double-colored casting costs.
Wingsteed Rider - Legit. I opened 3 (!!!!) in one pod, and a bunch of pump spells. You can guess what happened. This guy can grow out of hand really fast, and your opponent better have a way to deal with it.
Bow of Nylea - this does A LOT. Offense (pump/deathtouch), defense (lifegain/removal) and so on. It's great when there's a board stalemate and just gives you little advantage every turn, because in the long run that'll mean a lot.
Pump spells, in general, were also amazing. Titan's Strength and Battlewise Valor fix your draws AND get damage through. Dauntless Onslaught as well. I had two of each in the deck with 3 Wingsteed Riders.... that wasn't pretty.
Erebos was my MVP only because 2 of my opponents had a Whip of Erebos on turn 4-6 every game. The only game I won against whip was with Erebos to remove the lifelink. Having only black permaments made devotion pretty easy to get.
Didn't feel like I pulled very strong cards. Went black pack and pulled 3 playable black creatures including the overlord.
Think my strongest card was Boon Satyr. If I was able to flash him on curve I won that game. Would tack on Aqueous Form then a plethora of nymphs and emissaries.
All my other cards sucked. 4-5-6 bestow costs were killer, barely able to bestow the red god emissary. Those nymphs are no joke, put 2 or 3 on the same creature and it becomes impossible to deal with. Especially if you can get the black and white one on the same creature
Oh look, your offence of 3 creatures has been blanked by my 2/5.
And then curve into Shipbreaker Kraken, then monstrosity on the Gorgon, then monstrosity on the Kraken (release the Kraken!)
This.
Went 4-0. Chose Blue for my colour pack; wound up going U/B (a bit lighter on the Blue as I didn't pull all the support cards I wanted). Tons of Black removal, including two Gorgons. The Kraken was an absolute house. I saw him virtually every game, and won every time he hit the board. If someone managed to deal with him before or after he grew, I simply recurred him and windmill slammed him again.
The set was certainly slower than usual, not that I encountered any amazingly fast decks. Even with those that did manage to get off to a flying start, I took a few hits on the chin, stabilized, and won.
And they said Blue was the weakest colour. Hah!

I went 4-0 with green running red/white splashes. Sedge Scorpion doesn't seem like much, but he was the business all night long. He comes out early and does some damage. Later, he keeps giant vanilla monstrous creatures at bay while your own stuff builds up. I also had 2 copies of Mistcutter Hydra which were good, but not amazing. The board was typically so clogged with bodies they didn't make their presence felt. Only my last round opponent was in blue, and in that match they were, of course, insane.
Gray Merchant of Asphod x2 with a few double black cards carried me all the way to first place. "Drain 4, gain 4. Pass. My turn? Ok, Drain 6, Gain 6. GG?"

All and All Bounce in this format when supported by bigger green creatues, and being able to flash in untap lets say Any of your green Creatures is a huge blowout.
Also got to 5 permanents with 7 green mana symbols and 8 untapped lands including a Nykthos, then tap two mana tap Nykthos that is seven mana, tap Voyaging Satyr, Untap Nykthos, with two of the mana floating tap Nykthos again (12 mana) plus the other 5 lands which is 17 mana, and cast a 16 power Mistcutter Hydra, is absolutely Filthy.
Yeah And because of Scry, I played an 18 creature, 7 spell deck and only 15 lands and never felt mana screwed.
Yeah I love this format.

Yea, those are MTG Bars. What can I say, I am a dork
Whip of Erebos was doing work at my shop. People everywhere yelling "THE WHIP!". Only after my opponent played a Returned Centaur before I played my Whip did I realize the very effective self-milling synergy.
By far my best card was Stormbreath Dragon. I went 2-1 and every game I got him out I won. Lightning Strike also won me two games. Sorry for no links, on my phone and I don't remember how to.
Picked the black pack for Abhorrent Overlord and ended up running BR Aggro. Lots of Heroic, some Bestow, and removal. Some notable cards:
Akroan Crusader - A turn one crusade followed by a turn 2 Ordeal of Purphoros (of which I got 2) or a Scourgemark (got 3) to get a boost AND a token is just insane. Won me pretty much every game I landed him in.
Nighthowler - Only used Nighthowler in 1 game, but it's definitely what won it for me. With the amount of removal both myself and my opponent had, this thing got large very quickly, and has a great Bestow Cost. I managed to pull 2 Nighthowlers and I definitely ran both of them!
Boon of Erebos - Pump AND regen for just 1 mana at instant speed was my way of saving my guys from removal haha. Pulled 3 Boons so I made sure to always leave a black behind to keep my guys alive or do mid-game combat tricks with the Akroan Crusader.
Sea God's Revenge is insane. I was worried the format might be too fast for it to shine, but boy was I wrong.
I played UR with 2 of it, 2 Voyage's End, 2 Magma Jet, and a handful of midrangey creatures. Ony loss was against an insanely curved Boros deck.
Kragma Warcaller I think won me more games then any other card I had this night. It was a mean 4/3 hastey beater for 5 by itself but I happened to draw 8 playable minotaurs including the lord and a second warcalled. One game I got them both out and the lord... It was glorious.

This card won me only 4 games out of the 10 I played, only because I had one copy and managed to draw it 4 times.
This is like a double Savage Surge tacked on with the ability to timewalk monsters(literally) if you can't kill them.
I managed to boardwipe my opponent with it by untapping both my Vaporkin and Agent of Horizons to block both his attacking Breaching Hippocamp and Blood-Toll Harpy.
In another game where it was the finals game 3, I faced down a monstrous Nessian Asp and Ill-Tempered Cyclops for incoming lethal, this card timewalked him n tempo'ed me into 4-0.
What was your break-out card this prerelease?
360 Infinity Cube (No mana-screw multiplayer madness!)
Daxos of Meletis was insane. Every game I cast him I won.
Voyage's End was also very good, the bounce + scry let me keep a 2-land hand twice and both times worked out okay.
Ordeal of Heliod is a beast, especially on something fat like the 1/5 Coastline Chimera, very very hard to remove.
Oh look, your offence of 3 creatures has been blanked by my 2/5.

Baleful Eidolon was probably my mvp common. Eidolon on a Blood-Toll Harpy did a lot of work stalling or killing flyers. I had 1 Gray Merchant of Asphodel but only drew it once in 7 games and it drained 7 life or 9 life.
Think my strongest card was Boon Satyr. If I was able to flash him on curve I won that game. Would tack on Aqueous Form then a plethora of nymphs and emissaries.

Viper's Kiss disables monstrosity (most importantly on the U and R promos you'll almost certainly face), the Gods' activated abilities, wussifies a lot of common cards like the ramping Voyaging Satyr, Opaline Unicorn and Burnished Hart, or Dragon Mantle, Erebos's Emissary, Satyr Piper...
Returned Phalanx on second turn is always good, and it stays a great blocker turns later. U/B is pretty good, with Annul, Griptide, Keepsake Gorgon, Read the Bones, Voyage's End, a lot of scrying and maybe a Hero's Downfall going on, your fliers are gonna be well supported by versatile removal.
Breaching Hippocamp, Curse of the Swine, Read the Bones, Voyage's End and Fate Foretold were most useful.
Akroan Crusader - A turn one crusade followed by a turn 2 Ordeal of Purphoros (of which I got 2) or a
