Might I also add that there are no Legacy events. That should make the Legacy guys get all frazzled.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Well yeah when modern is a worse format than legacy in terms of interactions and the card pool, the only way legacy is 'worse' is that it's more expensive.
I'm just waiting for this format to turn out to be extended, as in it crashes and burns as soon as there aren't PTQ's for it. Anyone will play a PTQ format just to try to qualify for the pro tour, heck you could have Ice Age block constructed be a PTQ format and you would stil get hundreds of people at PTQs to try to qualify for the pro tour never mind that the format is only cool for nostalgic reasons like casting swords to plowshares again and not having to face off against planeswalkers.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

^Legacy guy.
I'm not sure I would say worse format. I watch SCG coverage and all I ever see are Maverick/Delver/Stone Blade. Really don't think that compares to the 20+ archetypes that have won PTQ's. Legacy would be fine if the reserved list went away but since it wont I see no reason to hold onto a dying format.

You can expect that Wizards will continue to support Modern with tournaments, because they realize that Legacy will die slowly due to the reserved list or just because many legacy staples would break Standard if they were reprinted.
Also, Wizards doesn't seem to be afraid to ban broken cards in Modern (I'm looking at you, Gifts Ungiven).
Now I just need Ravnica 2.0 to come around so I can get my playset of shocks without breaking the bank.
I have an idea, let's further divide the community into class-like factions. that way we can hate each other for the formats we choose to play and not because the other guy is an actual *******....
Look. I love Modern, but Legacy is a great format too. So is Limited and Vintage (I am sure Extended is fine too)...
Quit *****ing at each other about competitive events that don't actually effect your life and play ****ing cards....

I've never seen modern players go to legacy forums and talk bad about legacy. Sorry. The problem is not modern players here. I honestly don't know why they keep showing up here. Really.
They must have some secret love for the format. Late at night they probably sneak down the stairs past their Legacy decks and have hot steamy MTG sex with top8 reports from modern PTQ's.

That was unnecessary.
Anyhow, both formats are great and I'm sad to see no further Legacy GPs after Atlanta. Shame that I can't attend the Modern ones in the US at the dates listed, but looking forward to the coverage!

Nothing says interaction like exiling a blue card from your hand.

And for years if you didn't you where light years behind. Yay Maverick. Though my Legacy plan is to make a deck named Ice Man that beat Maverick. Or maybe a deck that dies horrible to Maverick that I can call Goose.

The point of the post (and that statement) were the Fall/Winter GPs (the format of which were just announced); of which Legacy has none, the article you posted is an old article showing the summer GPs.
Correct me if I'm wrong but Legacy will have had 3 GPs total this year;
And Modern will have had 7.
As an engineering student I can say without a shadow of a doubt that 7 > 3. I can't provide a proof for it, but it should be obvious from inspection.
For reference here's the entire GP schedule from the mothership;
My fingers are crossed. (I really don't want to spend 20+ dollars per shock land to finish Jund/Loam...)
I really don't want to shell out $400 dollars to get goyfs for Jund. Seriously, this is all I need to finish Jund, and that's just way out of reach even compared to next most expensive thing in modern: a playset of bobs which is worth about $180 right now. The fact that tarmogoyf is worth far more than anything else in modern, and even most of the cards in legacy, is just outrageous IMO. It's not broken, it's just very good, and it should get a reprint. /rant
In the meantime, I'll cross my fingers as well as I continue to use blightning and less-than-amazing 3 cmc creatures in Jund to replace the goyf slot.
Glad they're really bringing out modern as a format with the GP's.
