How so? It looks pretty terrible, actually...especially when you have access to Damnation in black. Craterhoof Behemoth (Elves option) and Angel of Jubilation (Bant? WW? SB option to shut down pod/phyrexian mana?) seems like the winner tonight.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm not saying these two will definitely see play (they probably won't) -- I'm just more excited about them than Killer Wave
EDIT #2: Misread Behemoth...thought it gave everyone haste as well
But there's two different colors to tron: r/g and u/w, both employ different cards for their respective colors, although the r/g variant also uses the chromatic stars and what not so it has more access outside its colors I believe. Obviously the u/w can't use explore, though.
But you're definitely right about it being castable in tron. 7 mana is easily achievable, and though it's not seemingly as much a threat, a turn 3 time walk is still very plausible, but wouldn't it be better to play karn or wurmcoil?
im not advocating to cut karn or wurmcoil for the blue miracle, actually as a cantrip-like effect it should help you finding those and getting to tron.
In block and maybe standard; But I'd honestly prefer Damnation or BSZ in Modern; given that it won't save you from dying to an alpha strike next turn (given they have enough life to pay for it); so I mean, depending on their lifetotal it could be a wrath for 1B or it could be the most disappointing top deck that you'll peel.

Angel of Jubilation is the absolute bonkers in the right deck i can absolutely see this card being format warping as it shuts off fetchlands and the entire melira deck. It's anthem effect is great for tokens and other swarm strategies, definitely playable in a hate bear like deck. If it finds a home, it will make melira much more worse.

I agree. At first, I read the "each creature's controller sacrifices it" clause and thought the card would be awesome. But unless you set X = 3 to kill 10 tokens' worth of Empty the Warrens, I don't think it's making many decks sacrifice any creatures to it.
Not to mention how abysmal it is against the entire Tron archetype. You're probably never pegging a lone Emrakul with it.
Well, jund is in need of a more efficient black board wipe. Damnation just doesn't work well with the deck. Jund charm, slagstorm, pyroclasm, etc. just don't always cut it against the various forms of aggro to board wipe. I agree that it will probably be disappointing, but I'll probably stick one in the side board for token/aggro match ups and see how it does when it comes out. It's nice that it only does 1 damage when flipped with bob. edit: I forgot though: it doesn't make a good cascade seeing it's played for 0 automatically. Still, might work though. Like I said: i'll give it a shot.
I'm not getting my hopes up or anything, but I like the idea of the card and I think it might possibly be a playable card in this format. If jund doesn't do well with it, maybe esper teachings or other forms of u/b/x control can use it. Also, it'd be funny in tron seeing you could cast it for upwards of 15 lol. And if not, then whatever.
Temporal Mastery basically reads "Jace stays on the Modern Ban List" right?

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Seriously, this card looks really good. It forces your opponent to choose between getting lava axed or have a 4/3 dude for one ****ing mana. When I first looked at the card I thought "Hm, a 4/3 for cmc 1. The rules text on the card will probably make it significantly unplayable." Then I read the rules text and then I thought otherwise. If anything, it's essentially a better hellspark elemental.
Alright, so it has to have a few downsides. I guess if you play it against aggro, it's not nearly as affective due to the option aggro has of just letting it hit the field and having it get overrun anyway. Of course, you can also just let it hit the field and remove it pretty easily. But seriously, a playset of these things could probably end up in any deck employing red minus combo or storm, and even still, it might be a great sideboard option.
Thoughts?
Also, I think wizards forgot they printed eldrazi when they designed descendants path. Might work in tron. We'll see. I can see it possibly getting banned as well if there ends up being a way to make it extremely consistent (which I don't really see).
So with the combo out, you CaD Emrakul, Eternal Witness. and Kolizek. Stack it just like that. Eternal Witness is just for protection, you could replace it with Goblin Bushwacker...lol
Chump blocking Emrakul all day with Moorland Haunt tokens or BoP will be pretty hilarious with Sigarda on the board in my hexproof bant list. Might just have to make some room.
I can see Thunderous Wrath as a 1- or 2-of in Burn, Sligh, or UR Delver Burn decks. Five damage for one mana is nothing at which to shake a stick. The decks obviously don't need it, but one or two can help put it over the top and ensure that it won't be in the opening hand.
Vexing Devil seems just like Browbeat; you're never going to get what you want when you play it. I'd much rather play Goblin Guide so I don't have to wait a turn to attack when it hits the battlefield, even if it doesn't seem as explosive as Vexing Devil.
Burn already runs Lava Spike and Goblin Guide. The devil is an often times more explosive version of both. It will be played.
My prediction for the new meta: Burn/RDW reaches the same meta-dependent level of success as storm.

This is like comparing grapefruit to oranges, they are similar but different enough to make a difference. The problem with brow beat is that its 3 mana on top of the opponent being able to choose. Plus if you draw three cards that doesn't exactly speed up how much damage you're doing. It sets you up for next turn, but slows you down the turn you cast it. The big difference is....
1) Devil fits the curve better.
2) No matter which they choose they are getting hit for 4 now, or a recurring 4 damage on all subsequent turns as long as he lives.
Vexing Devil is going to be really, really good. A better turn one play for burn does not exist. That alone makes it silly. In a format dominated by fetches/shocks, opponents will be looking at 13-14 life t1 pretty frequently.
I agree that Descendants' Path (this is only a translated title from the French, so it may be wrong, but I think "Chemin des descendants" implies descendants in the plural) may see play in Shamans. I'm a little sick of Leaf-Crowned Shaman being 4 cmc, anyway. The thing is, will it see play over Lead the Stampede, a card with similar creature card density restrictions but no tribal restrictions? It might, it might not.
In the meantime, I see no reasons why Elves should play Descendants' Path. All you're topdecking is one mana dork a turn. Elves needs the explosive-ness of Lead the Stampede.

Could be a sideboard card in GW Fauna Shaman. Shutting down both fetchlands and Melira seems relevant..
I'm really interested to see what uses people find for Restoration Angel. Still seems like the best card spoiled so far..

Pretty much. Maybe this was their reason to justify it?
What about this? UR combo deck with Niv and Tandem and then tutors and a package of red burn and blue control.

I do. I do. This build requires no ramp, just the two pieces and a bunch of big dudes. Gonna get banned. Haha.

Might be good.
Just sayin...

I imagine lists might be constructed slightly differently to accommodate Descendant's Path, but I'm anxious to see how it affects the archetype.
