They actually work about 16 months in advance (Friends is just out of the hands of design), so there was plenty of time to get SO in to M13. All signs point to it:
1. We are coming out of a graveyard subtheme block
2. The card is sought after enough to have a nutty price
3. It would not hurt anything that I can see in the current standard
4. We are moving back to Rav, and we will undoubtedly have graveyard mechanics associated with Golgari, or at least what was once Golgari.
5. Wizards likes to have safe answers in place when it uses strong themes, and having one smack dab in the middle of IDA and RTR makes perfect sense.
Sol Ring was recently described as "arguably one of the most broken cards in the game" by MaRo, so don't be silly.
